Cooper Ray Morrow, infant son of Cameron and Katlynn Morrow of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in DeRidder, LA.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; brother, Brodie Morrow; and grandparents, Pee Wee and Amber Morrow of Merryville, LA, and David And Stacie Peavy of Rosepine, LA.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 3:00pm at Johnson-Bailey cemetery in Rosepine, LA. Bro. Roger Gill will officiate.

Milton Gene "Bo" Scoggins
March 8, 1930 - September 13, 2015
Milton Gene “Bo” Scoggins, 85, of DeRidder, LA, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 in the Shreveport VA Hospital. Bo was born March 8, 1930 in Leesville, LA. He graduated from Rosepine High School and attended USL. He served in the US Navy from 1948-1952 as an aerial photographer on board the USS Coral Sea. He was an operator at Cities Service until 1961 and then opened Ace Bowling and Billiard Supply with his first wife Marie. From 1980 to the present he has lived in Panama City, FL; Mountain Home, AR; Longville, LA and DeRidder, LA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lettie Scoggins, sisters, Melanie and Laverne, and wife Linda.

He is survived by his son, Doug and wife Kathy; grandson, Brad and wife Niki; grandson, Ben; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation with prayer and story telling, will be held at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 10:00am until noon. A military service with internment of his ashes will be held at 2:00pm at Central Louisiana Veterans cemetery in Leesville, LA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Carmen Brown
December 18, 1924 - September 9, 2015
Carmen Brown, 90, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Lake Charles.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Emma McBride, and Vernie Brown Silas and husband Gregory all of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Jesse Hickman of Knight Community, LA; Daniel Hickman of Merryville, LA; and David Hickman of Knight Community, LA; sister, Naomi Craig of Knight Community, LA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Samantha Hickman; husband, Willie Brown; sons, Walter Ray Brown, and daughter, Jackie Silas.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00am at Power House Church of God in Christ in Knights Community, LA. Burial will follow at Almadane cemetery.

Daryl Smith
February 25, 1939 - September 6, 2015

Daryl Dean (Diz) Smith, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 in his DeRidder home.
Diz was born in Fredericktown, Missouri on February 25, 1939 to Fern Revelle Smith and Ralph Eldon Smith. He graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1956 and joined the United States Air Force. He was on the Air Force baseball team and chosen MVP in Southeast Asia and in the Mediterranean. He was honorably discharged in June of 1962.

Diz married Virginia Queener Smith on April 7, 1962 in Cleveland, Tennessee. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year. Diz worked in the Paper Mill industry for 39 years and started his own business, Smith Air and Refrigeration in DeRidder. Diz is survived by his wife, Virginia Smith, daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Tommy Russell of Longview, TX; his son and daughter –in-law, Lance and Therese Smith of Baton Rouge, LA; his sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Pete Shauf of Gainesville, TX; and three grandchildren, Dylan Russell, Alaina and Grant Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Fern Smith of Gainesville, TX.

Diz loved his family and his “special family” of friends with whom he had been blessed in his church, his work and in his community. He and Virginia were blessed with a full and active life together. They drove weekly to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and to Longview, Texas to watch their grandchildren in sports and various activities. Diz had a passion for antique cars and was founder and served as president of the Louisiana Slow Rollers Antique Car Club. He was an active golfer and loved his “golfing buddies” and his very special group of DQ buddies. Diz’s heat and air conditioning business was an additional source for him to serve others and create special friendships.

Visitation for Mr. Smith will be Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder and funeral services are Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church DeRidder at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Beauregard Agape Community Center or First Baptist Church DeRidder.

Marvin Dale Day
April 9, 1943 - September 3, 2015
Marvin Dale Day, 72, of Deridder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, September 3, 2015. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Velva Day; sons, Ricky Dale Day and wife Susan, and Dewayne Day and wife Mary; daughters, Rhonda Willis and husband Chris, and April Wisby and husband Frederick; brother, Clyde Day and wife Karen; sister, Hazel Arledge and husband Bob all of DeRidder, LA; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Susie Day; brothers, Roy, Ivy Troy and Thomas Buford Day; and daughter, Deborah Day.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Grace Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service is Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:00am at Grace Church. Burial will follow at New Cypress cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. George Lee Glass will officiate.

Dean Clark
June 16, 1949 - September 1, 2015
Dean Clark, 66, of Singer, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Merryville, LA. Dean was a 1967 graduate of Singer High School. He was a deacon and lifelong member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Dean was an avid fisherman and devoted baseball fan. He coached Dixie Youth Baseball and served as President of Singer Recreational Assoc. for many years. Dean Clark Field was named in his honor. He doted on his grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alda Eddleman Clark; daughters, Rebecca Fontenot Shell of Sulphur, LA, Darla Pickering and husband Pete of Merryville, LA; brothers, Clyde Clark of DeQuincy, LA, and Luther Smith of Singer, LA; sisters, Elaine Droddy of Lake Charles, LA, and Betty Hudson of DeQuincy, LA; grandchildren, Ashley Shell Marcantel and husband Zack of Lake Charles, LA, Blake Shell of Sulphur, LA, Micah Pickering of Natchitoches, LA and Aidan Pickering of Merryville, LA; great grandchild, Zachary Marcantel.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 6:00pm until 10:00pm at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 2:00pm at Good Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Schultz and Rev. Johnny Franks will officiate.

Patricia Niel
January 7, 1941 - August 31, 2015

Patricia Ann Niel, 74, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, August 31, 2015.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, John Niel; and son, Hoyt Niel both of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Nicholas Niel, Alexis Hayborn, Brittney Neil and Brandon Young. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Catherine Harper; and brother, John Anthony Niel III.

Sandra Fay Fowler, 74, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Richard Fowler and wife Tina of Singer, LA, and Rodney Fowler of Gonzales, LA; daughter, Carolyn “Susie” Johnson and husband Brian of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Mirandia Hilliard, Maria Fowler, Ashley Johnson; stepdaughter, Brittany Melancon; 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Fowler; grandson, Reuben D. Fowler; and great granddaughter, Bella Hilliard.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 11:00am at Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Newlin cemetery in Singer. Rev. Jerry Hext and Rev. Mark Schultz will officiate.

James Noble Jr.
October 27, 1937 - August 24, 2015
James Edward Noble Jr., 77, of DeRidder, passed from this life on Monday, August 24, 2015. Mr. Noble was a self employed logger for over 40 years and a member of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Kennith and Richard Noble both of DeRidder, Edward Noble, Chris Thomas and Charles Lee Thomas all of Boston, MA, and Ronson Joe Noble of DeRidder; daughters, Betty Thomas of Boston, MA, Jerri Baggett and husband John of DeRidder, Edna Hill of Ft. Hood, TX, and Dorothy Woodley and husband Charles of DeRidder; and a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Thomas; son, McQuinn Noble, and mother, Sallie Northington.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Belgrade cemetery in Belgrade, TX. Rev. Fred Hooper will officiate.

Debra King

Debra Paulann King, 46, of Buna, TX, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Houston, TX. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William King of Buna, TX; daughters, Hannah and Giselle "GG" King of Buna, TX; stepdaughter, Tina King of Cullman, AL; stepson, Tanner King of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Carolyn Hickman of DeRidder, LA; brother, David Hickman of Rosepine, LA; sisters, Darlene Hickman of Anacoco, LA, Renee Robertson of League City, TX, Lillie Richard and husband David of DeRidder, LA, and Tawanna LaLone and husband Michael of Elkhart, IN; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Hickman; and daughter, Savanna King.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at Grabow Pentecostal Church in DeRidder. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00am at Grabow Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow at Old Cypress cemetery in DeRiddder, LA. Bro. George Swain, Bro. Richard Dykes and Bro. Kenneth Gibson will officiate.

Roy Comeaux
May 19, 1946 - November 3, 2015
Roy Joseph Comeaux, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at his home. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Patrick Comeaux and wife Cindy of Rosepine, LA, Brad Comeaux and wife Jamie of DeRidder, LA, and Josh Comeaux of DeRidder, LA; sister, Ann Grayson and husband Freddie of Loreauville, LA; grandchildren, Samantha, Kearstyn, Abigail, Aiden, Skyler, Carson, and Mathieu; great grandchild, Cameron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce Comeaux and Nora Topham Comeaux.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Dry Creek Bible Church in Dry Creek, LA. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 2:00pm with funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Dry Creek cemetery. Rev. Sam Burchard will officiate.

Cooper Jr. and wife Anita of Houston, TX, John C. Cooper and wife Carol of DeRidder, LA, and Michael S. McKnight and wife Lanie of Mandeville, LA; sisters, Jetta Cooper of DeRidder, LA, and Patricia Lea Lucas and husband Nolan of Antioch, TN; grandchildren, Madison Duren and Olivia Harvey.
