Eric Todd Knippers, 43, of Many, LA, passed from this life on March 19, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Madalon Martin Merchant and James of Leesville, LA; father, Glen Dale Knippers of Many, LA; daughter, Lela Akili Knippers and her mother Laura Blankenship of Rosepine, LA; son, Justice Driskill of Grand Bay, AL; brother, Curtis Andrew Knippers and Ashley of Many, LA; sister, Ashlee Green and Andi Moneti of Perth, Australia; grandmother, Lela Jeanette Knippers of Natchitoches, LA; Stepmother, Martha Corley Knippers and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his granddad, Glen Knippers and maternal grandparents, Nita and Floyd Martin.

Visitation and service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 10:00AM-12:00PM until the time of service at 12:00PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Vic Warrick and Pastor Daniel Lowe will officiate. Pallbearers will be Byron Guidry, Phillip Moreau, Andy Knippers, Acie Savell, Jacob McLendon, Jason Martinez and Carlton Naquin. Graveside service and burial will follow at Friendship cemetery, 88 Friendship Rd, Robeline, LA, 71469 at 3:00PM.

Johnny William Hunt

Johnny William Hunt, 72, of Pitkin, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, March, 8, 2018.

Mr. Hunt graduated from Leesville High School in 1963. He joined the US Military in 1962 – Electronic School with the US Navy. In 1965 he enrolled at University of Louisiana in Lafayette, LA, sponsored by Atlantic Richfield which is now British Petroleum. In 1973, he joined Phillips Petroleum as Production Supervisor. December 1, 1978, he transferred to Stavanger Norway Ekofisk Operations in the North Sea. December 1, 1981, he joined Natomas International Operations in Jakarta Indonesia. In 1987, Natomas International merged with Diamond Shamrock where he worked as Production Superintendent, until Maxus Energy Corporation was formed. He then worked in various positions in Indonesia as Production Superintendent, Acquisitions, Project Manager and Kodak Operations. In June 2000, he retired to his home in Pitkin, LA. From June 2000, to present, he had his own Cattle Farm on Hunts Farm. He was baptized at Northside Baptist Church in Layfette, LA in 1968 and attended Baptist Churches in various countries. He joined Providence Baptist Church in 2006 and was ordained a Baptist deacon in July 2009.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Patsy Hunt of Pitkin, LA; daughters, Lisa Lea Hunt Nugent and Kevin of Marco, LA and Laqindle Lynn Hunt Diamond and Greg of Addis, LA; son, Johnny William Hunt II and Kayla of Bundicks Lake, LA. He also had fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Those preceding him in death are his parents, Evertt and Georgia Hunt; grandchildren, Evan “Buggy Willis and Kenneth “Frog” Brossette, Jr.; brothers, Douglas, Donald, Archie and Troy Hunt.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church, 2206 Providence Rd, Rosepine, LA. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 12:00 Noon until the time of funeral service at 2:30 P.M also at Providence Baptist Church. Brother Arlan Smith will officiate the service. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandsons and granddaughters; William Willis, Matthew Hurley, Michael Hurley, Jason McCraw, Johnny Hunt III, Ross Brosette, Gregory Diamond, Jr., Gabe Diamond, Joseph Lirette, Rachel Hunt, Amanda Hunt, Mallory Nugent and Maddie Diamond. Burial will follow at John C. White cemetery in Rosepine, LA.

Suree Williams

Suree Williams, 32, of Dry Creek, LA, passed from this life on Friday, March 2, 2018.

Suree was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was the best mother anyone could ask for; taking care of her family, cooking, caring for the animals, cutting the children’s hair, doing everything around the house that a mother/wife would do, and just being Suree. She loved her God and walks at his right hand.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 16 years, Jason Williams of Dry Creek, LA; son, Byron Williams of Dry Creek, LA; daughters, Kimberly Williams of Seoul, South Korea, Melody Williams and Stephanie Williams, both of Dry Creek, LA; granddaughter, Lia Kim of Seoul, South Korea; parents, Samet and Suphin Thongyuang of Surin, Thailand; three brothers and one sister of Surin, Thailand; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00 – 9:00 PM at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Dry Creek, LA. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 3:00 PM also at Dry Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lone Star Baptist Church cemetery in Sugartown, LA.

An account has been set up for the family at First National Bank of DeRidder, in Suree Williams’ name, to help defray the cost of family expenses.

Eva Mae Acker
Eva Mae Acker, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, March 5, 2018.
Eva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked for the Beauregard Parish School System for 16 years before retiring. She loved taking care of her house plants and spoiling her grandchildren. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Justin Acker and wife Ethel of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Tempest Acker of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Sammie Acker and wife Susan of Galveston, TX and Christopher Washington of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Pecola Johnson of New Orleans, LA and Frankie Jones and husband Jonas of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Tatyana and Taliyah Acker, Jonathan Davis, Angela Gibson, Vernon Gibson, Alalia Sowells and a host of other family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Sammy and Helen Acker.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Sunrise Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 8:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. Brother Alvin Peters, Sr. will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be, Jonas Jones, Willie Green, Dos Reis Acker, Jarrette Acker, Antonio Acker, Sammie Acker, Jr., Bryan McNair and Elroy Beasley. Burial will follow at Starlight cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

Rose Mary Kulaga

Rose Mary Kulaga, 72, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, March, 03, 2018.

Rose Mary was a graduate of DeRidder High School, class of 1965. After graduate she attended North Western State University. She was a member of Ludington Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed the time they spent together. She was loved by everyone that met her, she had a sweet smile and a gentle heart. Her smile was so contagious that when you left her, you carried it with you.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Joey Kulaga & Margie, Mike Kulaga and Carla, David Kulaga, Henry Kulaga & Kathy; brother –in – law, D.C. Farris; sisters, Libby Cline & Donnie, Beverly Keel & Dale, Jolynn Kulaga, Lanie Laughlin & Gerald; sister – in - law, Judy Kulaga; aunt & uncles, Billy Brister, Reba Collin, Everett Brister and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father: Joseph Kulaga, mother: Helen Kulaga, brother: Eugene Kulaga and sister: Patti Farris.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Ludington Church in DeRidder, LA. Brother Martin Romero will officiate the service. Pallbearers are Chad Farris, Dennis Farris, Scott Farris, Cade Farris, Micheal Kulaga, Kevin Cline, Jason Cline, Joey Kulaga. Burial will follow at Marlow cemetery, Pitkin, LA.

George L. Gosnell

George L. Gosnell, 77, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on, Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherron Gosnell of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Charlotte Keen and Jim of DeRidder, LA, Pauline Wood and Ed of DeRidder, LA and Jane Babineaux and Dale of DeRidder, LA; brothers, James Gosnell and Marie of Vinton, LA, Harold Gosnell and Sue of Leesville, LA, Glen Gosnell and Edna of Pennsylvania and Charles Gosnell and Debbie of Rosepine, LA; sisters, Helen Simms and Sam of Oakdale, LA and Elouise Whittington and Vance of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren; Roy Keen, Lynsey Scranton, Matthew Keen, Amber Jarrell, Shianna Schenk, Tessa Janquess, Cody Babineaux, Jane Babineaux and seven great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents: T.W. & Inez Gosnell and brother: Roy Gene Gosnell.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Old Cypress cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

Lewis Paul Brinkley

Lewis Paul Brinkley, 65, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sheila Brinkley of Merryville, LA; son, Chad Lewis Brinkley and Elizabeth of Anacoco, LA; daughter, Valerie Ann and Eric Moore of Kirbyville, TX; stepmother, Norma Brinkley of DeQuincy, LA; half-brothers, Everett Brinkley of Sulphur, LA and Dennis Brinkley of DeQuincy, LA; half- sister, Denise Davis of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren; Lily Ann Grace Moore, Lincoln Paul Moore and Lawson Monroe Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Noveline Brinkley; brothers, Johnny Caroll and Lewis Edward Brinkley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5 PM– 9 PM at Burr Ferry Pentecostal Church in Leesville, LA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 2, 2018 also at Burr Ferry Pentecostal Church. Ministers are Bro. Ed Tilley, Bro. Wade Townley, Bro. George Swain and Bro. Joe Clay. Pallbearers are James Townley, Roy Lockhart, Roderick Bailey, Gregg Walker, Tim Harrell and Joseph George. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Townley, Everett Brinkley and Michael Brinkley. Burial will follow at Burr Ferry cemetery in Anacoco, LA.

J.W. Lummus

J.W. Lummus, 80, of Livingston, TX, passed from this life on Monday, February, 26, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, J.T. Lummus and Sandra of Livingston, TX; brother, Bill Lummus of Madisonville, TX and sister, Jean Harper of Normangee, TX. He is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Preceding him is death is his wife, Carrie Limmus.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Myers Colonial Funeral in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow at Good Hope cemetery in Singer, LA.

Josie "JoLynn" Lynette Foshee Lucas

JoLynn Foshee Lucas, 81, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Monday, February, 12, 2018.

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, George B. Lucas of Rosepine, LA; sons, Michael Wayne Lucas of Rosepine, LA and George Kelvin Lucas & Hazel of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Aimee Lynette Lucas & George Clark of Rosepine, LA; brother, William Keith Foshee of Rosepine, LA; sister, Doris Hickman of Rosepine, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leann Hoffman & Justin, Michelle Lucas, Benjamin Lucas & Kelsi, Shelby Lucas, Josie K. Slaydon, Patrick Slaydon, Jr., Lucas D. Slaydon, Morgan T. Slaydon, Levi C. Slaydon, Brittanie McGee & Byron, Haley Warden; great grandchildren, Levi Warden, Daniel B. Lucas and One great granddaughter on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Josie Foshee; five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will begin Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue and service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Brother Gary Pontiff will officiate. Billy Foshee will speak and read the eulogy, and Brother Zale Lewis will also speak. Pallbearers are Patrick Slaydon, Jr., Lucas Slaydon, Morgan Slaydon, Levi Slaydon, Benjamin Lucas, Justin Hoffman, Bryon McGee, Jr. and Dustin Clark.

Burial will follow at Rosepine cemetery in Rosepine, Louisiana.
