James "Jimmy" Eugene Cryer
James “Jimmy” Eugene Cryer, 75, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
Jimmy was a carpenter, a trade that he learned from his father. He was self-employed most of his career as a General Contractor but he was best known for his beautiful, custom cabinetry work and attention to detail.
He loved Rosepine and wanted to serve the people by public service. He was first elected by the people to serve as Alderman in 1976. He served for 32 years and was recently recognized for consecutive years of service by the Louisiana Municipal Association in 2014. He was a 32 degree Mason. He was a loyal, trustworthy man that never met a stranger. His handshake and his word were as good as gold.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son James Cryer, Jr. & Dena of Tyler, TX; daughters, Dawn Eccles & Steve of Lake Charles, LA and Cherie Garza & David also of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Harold Wayne Cryer & Doris of South Carolina; sister, Melba Faye Wells & Jerry Don of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Brandon Poindexter, Stephen Eccles, Michael Eccles, Kristen Eccles, Alanna Garza; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Bertie Cryer and his brother, Ronald Cryer.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home from 9:00-11:00 am with the funeral service starting at 11:00 am. Officiating the service will be Brother James Byrd. Burial will follow at Rosepine cemetery in Rosepine, LA.

Mark Jeffrey Welch, 57, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Funeral service will be held Monday, September 25, 2017, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow in Beauregard cemetery, in DeRidder, LA.

Cora Margarette Adams, 73, of Liberty, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David Adams & Karen of Liberty, TX; daughter, Pamela Mitchell of Liberty, TX; brother, Jessie “Leo” McCollough & “Edie” of Liberty, TX; sister, Mildred Simmons & Leroy of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Aaron Durham, Clayton Durham, Tyler Mitchell, ShiLee Peardon, Chandler DeGrenier, Dinah Adams; three great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Those preceding her in death are: father, Elton McCollough; mother, Essie Loving; sister, Dora Fayrene Dick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Service will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Cannon cemetery in Merryville, LA.
Charlotte Ann Stout
Charlotte Ann Loftis Stout, 63, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
She came to Christ at an early age in her life. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. She graduated as Salutatorian from Livingston Academy in Livingston, TN in 1972. She was somewhat reserved, quiet, tenderhearted, and strong willed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and sister; very loving and caring. She will forever be treasured in our hearts.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 38 years, Jimmie Lynn Stout of Merryville, LA; son, Jamey Lynn Stout of Merryville, LA; parents, Howard & Lennie Loftis of Hilham, TN; sisters, Mary Joyce Hammett & David of Chattanooga, TN and Deborah S. Ramsey & Randall of Cookeville, TN.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George & Ollie Loftis and her maternal grandparents, Herman & Margie Waites.
Visitation and service will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Apostolic Church in Merryville, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Reverend Guy Snyder will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jimmie Stout, Daniel Snyder, Seth Snyder, Jason Cooper, David Hammett and Randall Ramsey. Burial will follow at Spikes cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Goldonna, LA. Reverend Jude Brunnert will officiate. Pallbearers are Randy Sanchez, Stuart Benoit, John Paul Galloway, Logan Williams, Leigh Pruitt, and Liam Heiland.
