Florence Beatrice Libich ,78, of Odessa, MO, passed from this life on Saturday, June 17, 2017.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Libich & Lisa of Odessa, MO; daughter, Beatrice McMillian and John, Jr. of Merryville, LA; 20 Grandchildren and Twenty-Seven Great Grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Those preceding her in death are her husband, Max Earl Libich; sons, Eddie Libich, Rocky Libich, and Russell Libich; brother, Frankie Leon Dale; sister, Emma Jean Lackey Decker O’Neal.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cooper cemetery, in Merryville, LA.

She will truly be missed by all.

Mary Goodman Williams

Mary Goodman Williams, 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, June 16, 2017. Funeral service was held Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. Burial followed at Hopewell cemetery in Dry Creek, LA.

John Davidson
John Davidson, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, John Davidson (Lacey) of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Pamela Davidson of Stuart, VA; sisters, Helen Davidson and Evelyn Parker, both of Birmingham, AL and Catherine Mulvihill (Jack) of Pompano Beach, FL; grandchildren, Alyssa Davidson, Ayla Davidson and Aydan Davidson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irwin and Anne Davidson; and his brothers, George Davidson, Frank Davidson, Bert Davidson and Mike Davidson.

John was a great man in so many ways to his family, friends, co-workers and customers. He was a good story teller and jokester. He loved the outdoors, was an avid saltwater fisherman and absolutely loved to ride his Harley-Davidson. He will truly be missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the funeral service starting at 1:00 pm.

Sandra Marie Lucius

Sandra Marie Lucius passed away at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the age of 76. Sandra was born to Aubrey Lee Kirkpatrick and Marie Saucer Kirkpatrick in Arkansas on February 22, 1941. She married Francis Don Lucius on December 5, 1959. They spent many years starting and pastoring churches in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and California. Sandra was a prayer warrior. She spent time every day praying for her family and loved ones and reading her beloved Bible. She leaves behind the most precious gift she could give to her children—her everlasting prayers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Timothy Ray Kirkpatrick, and a sister, Barbara Ann Kirkpatrick. She is survived by her husband; five children, Donna (Oscar) Garcia of Sebastian, Texas, David (Kathy) Lucius of Livingston, Texas, Lynn (Wiley) Cooley of Lake Charles, Julie (David) Parker of DeRidder, and Heather (Gregory) Goins of DeRidder; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; six siblings, Patsy Ray, Leona Massey, Janice Kirkpatrick, Bill Kirkpatrick, Mike Kirkpatrick, and Joy Giovanni; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, with visitation beginning at 4:00 PM followed by the service at 6:00 PM. Reverend T.D. Cardwell, Reverend George Lee Glass and Rev, Zale Lewis will be officiating. A private burial will follow at Lewis cemetery in DeRidder on Friday, June 16, 2017. Pallbearers will be Bruce Walker, William Parks, Weston Clark, Camron Parker, Josh Davis, Ethan Cooley, John Riley and Oscar Garcia, III.

Geraldine Gearen

Geraldine Gearen, 82, of Singer, LA, passed from this life on June 2, 2017.

Those left to cherish her memory are; husband, Rufus “Friday” Gearen; sons, Gary Brown (Peggy) of Moss Bluff, LA, Rodney Brown (Laura) of Singer, LA, Michael Brown (Honda) of Oretta, LA and Kevin Brown (Cassie) of Singer, LA; daughters, Sandra Lacy of Kemp, TX, Elizabeth “Cissy” Gearen of Iota, LA, Edith Coker, Leanor Melder, Carol Null and Tresa Jo Davis; Eighteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by; sons, Tommy “Tucker” Brown and Ricky Brown; daughter, Judy Brown and grandson, Jacob Brown.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 5-9 PM at Singer United Pentecostal Church in Singer, LA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Singer United Pentecostal Church at 2 PM. Rev. Donnis Ashworth will officiate. Burial will follow at Good Hope cemetery in Singer, LA.

Jason Monroe Baggett

Jason Monroe Baggett, 42, of Sugartown, LA, passed from this life on Friday, June 2, 2017.

Jason lived on his Paw Paw Baggett’s property near Grant, LA. He graduated High School at East Beauregard. He worked construction in some of the nearby Plants for a while. He had been disabled to work for several years. He loved to hunt, fish, feed the deer, turkeys and squirrels on the family property in Grant. His nephews and nieces were the closet thing he had to his own children and he loved them like his own.

He was usually a man of few words, but cared for and loved his family and friends. He liked to draw and write poetry. He had a poem several years ago, posted in Field and Stream Magazine. His kindness and helpfulness touched a lot of people’s lives. We are going to miss him now that he is with the Lord and his sister, LeAnn Baggett.

Those left to cherish his memory are his: father, Laron Monroe Baggett of Sugartown, LA; mother; Pauline Monical of Kiplin, LA; step father, Dwayne Monical of Kiplin, LA; companion, Teresa Hoy of Grant, LA; sister, Tiffany Hooper and her husband Todd of Lake Charles, LA; grandmother, Charity Ford of Kiplin, LA; Nieces and Nephews, Bryten Monroe Cooley, Brylee Cooley, Savana Mott, Elora Hooper; Aunt Colleen and Uncle Franklin Tyler; First cousin, Katie Schiro and her husband E.J.

Preceding him in death are his: sister, LeAnn Baggett; grandparents: Harta Lee Ford; Monroe and Inez Baggett; aunt, Glenda Baggett

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Kiplin, LA, (Dry Creek, LA) at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 4 PM. Burial will follow at Hamilton cemetery in Grant LA,

Fay Grace Bullitt

Fay Grace Bullitt, 85, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Visitation will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:00 – 10:00 PM at Church of Christ in Merryville, LA. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017, also at Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Merryville cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Jerry Jean Cooley, Sr.

Jerry Jean Cooley, Sr., 82, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on May 31, 2017.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Cooley of Merryville; sons, Larry Cooley and Tammie of Merryville, LA and Brian Paul Cooley and Ojuanna of DeRidder, LA; brothers, John Allen Cooley and Elizabeth of Kirbyville, TX and Richard Cooley and Bonnie of Merryville, LA; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren with a great grandchild on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Jean Cooley, Jr.; parents, Willie and Lannie Cooley; sisters, Eloise Perry and Alice Faye Eaves.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Brother Lyndon Longoria and Brother Homer Longoria. Burial will follow at Meadows cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Jerry was a hard worker his entire life, having worked on the same oil rig, offshore, for twenty-two years. Later, he would work in the agriculture industry, driving a truck for O’Neal Feed and Supply for the better part of nine years. Jerry loved the outdoors – camping, hunting, and certainly fishing. His most cherished love, however, was his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. We will forever cherish his memory and keep him in our hearts.

Samuel David Cheatham, Sr.

Samuel David Cheatham, Sr, 78, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. He was born March 27, 1939 in Springhill, LA, to Commedo and Lilla Mae Cheatham.

Mr. Cheatham graduated from Minden High School. He served two years in the Army, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. After his military service ended, he married the love of his life, Mary Lamb, and they were blessed with two sons.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Aldon Cheatham and wife Leslie; grandson, William Brady Cheatham; granddaughter, Catherine Lile Cheatham all of Spring Hill, TN; sister, Linda Hunter and husband Bill of Chandler, TX; two nieces, Lori McGill of Chandler, TX and Leslie Kerns of Tyler, TX.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lamb Cheatham; and his son Samuel David Cheatham, Jr. and his parents Commedo & Lilla Mae Cheatham.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Rev. George Lee Glass and Rev. Tommy Brandon will officiate.

Alfred Ashworth, Jr.

Alfred Ashworth, Jr., 56, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Cofieldus Neal of DeRidder, LA; grandmother, Willie Mae Mitchell of Frierson, LA; brothers, Michael Charles Ashworth of DeRidder, LA, Obie James Ashworth & Mia of DeRidder, LA and Whitney Paul Ashworth & Inett of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Glenda Rahming of DeRidder, LA, Marilyn Thomas & Milton of DeRidder, LA and Johnnie Mae Murray & Glenn of Houston, TX; one grandchild, Coleana Pigott; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred & Mary Ashworth and his sisters Linda Watson and Angela Ashworth.

Visitation and service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9:00AM – 1:00PM until the time of service at 1:00PM at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Dallas Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow at Spikes cemetery in Bancroft, LA.

Terry Lee Harris

Terry Lee Harris, 54, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, May 19, 2017.

Those left to cherish his memory: mother, Jewell Allen of Fredonia, KS, father Clifford and Glenna Harris of Enterprise, AL; Fiancé, Deborah Canibano of DeRidder, LA; mother in law, Flo Canibano of DeRidder, LA. sons, Shawn Harris and Melissa of U.S. Air Force Korea and Justin Harris, Independence, KS; daughter, Lori Harris Musgrove, Independence, KS; brother, Brian Harris and Bonnie of Fredonia, KS; sister, Sandra Phillips and Billy of Enterprise, AL; step brother, Tony Knowles of Parsons KS, step sisters, Joyce Smith and Beth Beaty of Palm Harbor, FL. Eight grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kaylene Harris and step sister Betty Tyner.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
