Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00AM at Norris Memorial Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

Gwyneth Cora Sykes, 68, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in DeRidder, LA.

Willean Dillon
Willean Dillon was born March 25, 1938 in Tylertown, MS. She attended Hope Vocational School in Tylertown as well. Early on in her life, she chose to reside in New Orleans. Throughout her life, she worked in various positions, but was mainly a plant worker. She attended New Zion Baptist Church in New Orleans but when she moved to DeRidder, joined Beech Grove Baptist Church.
Willean Dillon is survived by her daughter, Juanita Jones and Hosie, Jr. of DeRidder, LA; her son, Willie Peters and Connie of Birmingham, AL; her daughter, Lynette Peters also of Birmingham, AL; her son Charles Peters and Christie of Hattiesburg, MS; her sisters, Helen Gardner of Oakland, CA, and Thelma Terrell and Mason of New Llano, LA; sister-in-law, Irma J. Lumpkin; her special nephew, Roy Gardner BNA: Red Bean; her nieces, Felicia Charles and Vanetta Evans; special friend, Elizabeth Maxie; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Julia Dillon; her husband, Zoro Peters; her brothers, J.W. Dillon and S.W. Dillon and her four children.
Jesse Blakeman Jr.
Jesse Allen Blakeman, Jr., 86, of Dry Creek, LA (formerly Morgan City, LA), passed to eternal rest on Sunday, October 16, 2016 in DeRidder, LA.
He was born March 27, 1930 in Amelia, LA to the late Jesse A. Blakeman, Sr. and Annie Jackson Blakeman. Jesse was a retired Assistant Chief of Police for the Morgan City Police Department.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Eva M. St.Germain Blakeman; his son, Jesse G. Blakeman and wife Beth; his daughters, JoAnn Deborde and husband JR, Kathy Hebert and husband Ron; two brothers, Timothy Blakeman, Sr., Frank Blakeman and wife Euna; his sister, Ramona Crochet and husband Anthony; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Roger Dale Blakeman; his brothers, Amoron Blakeman, Joseph Blakeman, James Blakeman; and his sister, Wendover Anne Domangue.
Visitation will be at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00. There will also be a visitation continuing on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City, LA. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 9:00 AM followed by a procession and graveside service at the Morgan City cemetery. Jesse will be laid to rest next to his son, Roger.

Claudine Miller, 84, of DeRidder, LA passed from this life on Saturday, October 15. 2016.
She is survived by her son, Steve Miller and wife Pamela of DeRidder, LA; her grandchildren, Ginger Miller Kemp and husband Terrance of DeRidder, LA and James Patrick Miller and wife Kris of Clayton, DE; her great grandchildren, Gabrielle Kemp, DaKota Kemp, Lathan Miller, and Keagan Miller.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Self; her husband, James Miller; her Brother and Sisters; and a grandson, Damon Miller.
There will be visitation at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM with funeral services being held graveside at Beauregard Cemtery on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM.

Lawrence Preston Mosley, 75, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Friday, October 14, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Vergis Metrejean Mosley of Merryville, LA; his daughter, Carol Amburn and husband Dennis of Merryville, LA; his sisters, Geneva Crenshaw of North Carolina and Mary Joyce Yawn of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Dennis Amburn, Jr. and wife Alexis of Lake Charles, LA and Matthew Amburn and wife Carolyn of Merryville, LA; great grandchildren, Camilla and Phoenix Amburn and Kyler Amburn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mae Belle Mosley; his brother, Willie "Pug" Mosley; and his sister, Mildred Banghart.

funeral services being held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM also at the Apostolic Church in Merryville, LA. Burial will follow in Mosley Amburn cemetery in Merryville, LA.
William "Bill" Carl Ambler, Sr.
William C. Ambler, Sr., 94, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
Those left to treasure his memory are his wife, Jeanette B. Ambler of DeRidder, LA; his son, William C. Ambler, Jr. and wife Lucy of Dayton, TX; his step-son, Mike Butler and wife Cheryl of DeRidder, LA; his brother, Lawrence Ambler of Nacogdoches, TX; his grandchildren, Chandra Ambler Davis of Kingwood, TX, Clint Ambler and wife Terry Lynne of Mt. Belvieu, TX, Laura Antes and husband David of Layton, UT, Darrell Ambler, Jr. and wife Melissa of Bryan, TX; his step-grandchildren, Chad Butler and wife Monica, Laci Butler, and Michael Butler, all of DeRidder, LA; ten great grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sibbie Ambler; his son, Darrell Ambler; his brother, James Earl Ambler; and his first wife, Dixie Vaye Lary Ambler.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 4:00-9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 AT 11:00 am also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home with burial following at Rosepine cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
David Barmore
David F. Barmore, 57, passed from this life on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his home in DeRidder, LA.
David was born on September 7, 1959 in Ruston, LA, but was a lifelong resident of DeRidder. He graduated from DeRidder High School and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree from McNeese State University. He was a loved employee of Morris Tire Service his whole life. His greatest love was his children.
Those left to treasure his memory are his mother, Shirley Boggs; his son, Chad Barmore; his daughter, Amanda Barmore; his brother, Alan “Bo” Barmore and wife Vicki; his sister, Kim Butler and husband Terry; his close friends, John “Tad” Nelson & Jim Morris; his Morris Tire “family”; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Barmore; his brother, Mark Barmore; and his step-father, Robert Boggs.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held at Grace Church on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 9:00 am prior to the service. Pastor George Lee Glass, Jr. will officiate the service and burial will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

Billy Ray Franks
Home-going services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at New Hope Baptist Church, DeQuincy, Louisiana for Billy Ray Franks, 82 who passed away at his residence. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at New Hope. Pastor Roland Hebert will be officiating; burial will be in the Spikes cemetery at Bancroft.
Billy Ray is survived by his wife, Ramona Franks, one daughter, Ruth Franks Eckert and her husband, Monte, one son, David Franks and his wife Kim, three grandchildren, Laiken, Ethan, and Brandon Franks, one sister, DeCarma Perkins and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Billy Ray loved people and loved to tell stories, but he especially loved to share the Gospel of Jesus with others and touched so many lives with his dry sense of humor and handshake. He was a man of great faith and had a servant’s heart; he left an imprint on the hearts of all who knew him. He has served as a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church for several decades. Also, he was a Gideon and a member of the Louisiana and Beauregard Cattlemen’s Associations.
2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

Bonita Christine Dowden
Bonita Christine Dowden, 54, of Ragley, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, October 8, 2016.
Christine was born on March 8, 1962 in Lake Charles, LA. She graduated from South Beauregard High School and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree from McNeese State University. Christine loved to read, cross-stitch, watch movies, work on crafting projects, and pursue creative endeavors. She enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies, listening to music and playing with and observing animals and she cherished every second that she visited with family and friends!
Those left to treasure her memory are her parents, Barbara and Amon Dowden, Jr. of Ragley, LA; her sister, Janet L’Hoste and husband Stephen of Lake Charles, LA; her nieces, Jessica Williamson and husband Brian, Amy L’Hoste; her nephew, Michael L’Hoste; and her great niece, Natalie L’Hoste all of Lake Charles, LA.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Russell Dowden; and
her grandparents, Effie & Amon Dowden and Velma & Osa Martin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 9:00-11:00 am at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with the funeral service also being held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11:00 am following the visitation. Burial will follow at New Kisatchie cemetery in Kisatchie, LA.
