Randy Ashworth Sr.

Randy Ashworth, Sr., 58, of DeRidder, LA. passed from this life on Saturday, September 17, 2016.

Beloved family to carry and cherish his memory are his wife, Celia Mae Ashworth; sons, Randy Ashworth, Jr., Matthias Ashworth, Nehemiah Ashworth; daughters, Moncharee Foshee and husband Chris, Sheena Johnson and husband Daryl, Monick Ashworth; brothers, Glen Ashworth, Alvin Ashworth, Larry Ashworth and wife Patricia, Kerry Ashworth and wife LaVonda; sisters, Kathy Lewis and husband Edward, Paula Fulford and husband Michael, Vanessa Mazyck and husband William; 21 grandchildren and many more friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Archie Ashworth; mother, Florien Williams Ashworth; brother, Paul Ashworth.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and services will follow at 11:00 AM. Elder Kerry Ashworth and Rev. Wilfert Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Spikes cemetery in Bancroft, LA.

Robert Durham

Robert Earl (Bobby) Durham passed from this life on September 18, 2016 in Lafayette, LA at the Lafayette General Hospital

Mr. Durham was retired from the United States Navy after serving for 20 years. His rank at the time of retirement was Chief Petty Officer. He last served on the USS Wisconsin.

Mr. Durham was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Catherine Delia Durham; one brother, Michael Wayne Durham; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. S.F. Delia, Sr. and Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Durham.

He is survived by one daughter, Kristen Wrinkle and husband Jeremy of Ashdown, AR; two grandchildren, Abigail and Aubrey Jo Wrinkle; one brother, David Durham and Charla of DeRidder, LA; one sister, Patti Mayo and Brent of Fernandina Beach, FL; five nieces and nephews – Jason Durham, Jeremy Durham, Jamie Broussard, Justin Mayo, and Joshua Mayo; twelve great nieces and nephews; three aunts, Marian Delia Burns and Van of Houston, TX, Frances Delia Crawford of DeRidder, LA, Charlotte Delia DeLoach of West Monroe, LA; a host of cousins and a multitude of close friends considered family.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at Myers Colonial from 9:00 am until noon with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in DeRidder. Burial will immediately follow at the Beauregard cemetery.

Judy Isaacs Wooten

Judy Virginia Isaacs Wooten went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the age of 73 after a sudden brief battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). She is survived by her children, DeWayne Wooten and wife Rosie, Joseph Wooten and wife Diana, Sheri Poe and husband Cliff, and Brenda Woolever and husband Tony; her grandchildren, Alex Wooten, Jacob Wooten, Caleb Wooten, Jonah Wooten, Ethan Poe and Emily Poe and her brothers: John M Isaacs and William S Ingram. She is preceded in death by her husband, Colin W Wooten; her parents, Herbert M Isaacs and Virginia V Ingram; her siblings, Marjorie A. Dearmon, Allie Ingram, and Jimmy D Isaacs. She was a cherished mother, wife, sister, aunt, Sunday school teacher and friend. She will be missed by many. Until we meet again, you will always be in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Sunday Sept 18, 2016 from 4PM – 9PM and again on Monday September 19, 2016 from 8AM until time of service at The Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church located at 305 N. Bryan St DeRidder, LA 70634. Funeral services will be held at 2PM on Monday September 19, 2016 also at The Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church. Burial will follow in the Rosepine cemetery in Rosepine, LA. Rev. Eddie Tilley will officiate.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

Walter B Hudson Sr.

Walter “Bryan” Hudson, Sr., 63, of Singer, Louisiana, died Thursday morning at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital. Born September 6, 1953, in Beaufort, SC, Bryan graduated from high school in St. Petersburg, FL and attended the University of Southern Florida. He worked as an EMT in Florida until returning to Louisiana in 1984, making his home in Singer near his father’s farm.

Bryan worked at Dental Plus as a lab technician until retiring for medical reasons. United in marriage with Darlene Wilson in 1992, they continued residence in the Beehive Community until her premature death in 2004.

He is survived by his sons, Walter B. Hudson, Jr. of Singer, LA, Ed Ross and Ester of Humble, TX; brothers, Capt. Thomas W. Hudson and Robbie of The Woodlands, TX, Bob Hudson and Tessa of DeRidder, LA, Dr. Charles Hudson and Donna of DeRidder, LA, Rodger “Buddy” Hudson and Donna of Dallas, TX, Matt Hudson and Corrine of Singer, LA; sister, Debra Dawn Hudson and Ronnie Cagle of Singer, LA; granddaughters, Marlene Ross, Jenna Ross, and Kayla Ross all of Humble, TX; one great grandchild, Keenan Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene W. Hudson, and his parents, Benjamin and Margaret Hudson.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 4:00-9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 pm also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hopewell cemetery in Dry Creek, LA.

Verline Jeans

Verline S. Jeans, 85, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

She was a lifelong member of the VFW ladies’ auxiliary in DeQuincy, Louisiana. She worked in the medical field as a long time employee of the Merryville General Hospital and retired from there. Mrs. Jeans enjoyed her favorite pastime of bird watching and spending time with friends and family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Stan Jeans & wife Laura of Merryville, LA; her daughters, Sheila Jones Langston and Corliss Powell, both of Merryville, LA; four grandsons; two granddaughters; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.J. “Dick” Jeans; her parents, Huey & Viola Stanley; three brothers; one sister; and two granddaughters: Michelle Hammond and Mandy Lynn Jones.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 pm at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Buddy Freeman and Pastor Jason Fortenberry will officiate. Pallbearers will include Casey Jones, Chris Jones, Cole Jeans, Clay Jeans, Hunter Jones, and Lee Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Payton Jeans and Bain Jones. Burial will follow at Meadows cemetery in Merryville, LA.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.

William Bill Felice

William “Bill” Felice, 63 of Starks, Louisiana passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 3, 2016 in his home. He was surrounded by his wife of 40 years, Tina; daughters, Terra, Kristi, Jeanie; friends & family.

Bill was born in Lake Charles and raised in Ragley, Louisiana, where he began working at the age of 14 for Truman and Marie Collins.

Bill was a retired diesel mechanic. He also worked in the oil field, drove an 18 wheeler, and owned his own business. He loved to fish and be outdoors, working on vehicles for those near and far, laughing, joking, and cutting up with whomever he came in contact with. For the past year, he and his wife traveled across the country attending POW-WOWS they enjoyed so much. Bill never met a stranger.

Thanks to Bill, Bro. Ron & Mrs. Mariam started a video ministry at First Baptist Church of Starks.

Bill is survived by his wife Christina B. Felice of Starks, LA; his daughters,

Terra Felice & Mike Johnson of Starks, LA, Kristi Perkins & Aaron of DeQuincy, LA, Jeanie Clark & Jason of Starks, LA; his brother, Joseph Felice & Eva of Ragley, LA; his sister, Mary Fuger & Don of Reliant, WY; his grandchildren, Cody, Sierra, Skylar, Joshua, Alston, Sheldon, Raven & Landon and great grandchildren, William & Scarlett; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Freddie & Marie Felice; his brother, Freddie Felice, II; and his granddaughter, Christian Leigh Perkins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Starks, LA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 am also at the First Baptist Church in Starks, with Brother Ron Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Clark cemetery in Fields, LA.

Faye Gandy

Faye Gandy, 84, of Evans, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Churchin Merryville, LA.. Burial will follow in Evans cemetery in Evans, LA.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son. Barry Gandy of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Debi Rowland and Larry of Pensacola, FL; brother, L.K. Jarrell and Jesse of Bridge City, TX; sister, Mary Erickson of Evans, LA; grandchildren, Bayleigh Gandy, Dillon Gandy, Stacey Duncan and Eric, Skyler Rowland and Kelley; great grandchildrem, Cali Duncan, Cruz Duncan, Cai Duncan, Cayson Rowland and Ashur Rowland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gandy, parents, Connie and Annie Jarrell and her sister, Alice Fairley.

Eugene Duaine Kulaga

Eugene Duaine Kulaga, 69, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, October 23, 2016.

Mr. Kulaga graduated from DeRidder High School in 1965. He was employed at Boise Cascade for 19 years. He then started his own business in 1987, along with his wife, Judy, known as E.K. Construction Company, Inc. One of his other business endeavors was K & K Grocery. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will continue at Ludington Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 12:00 PM until time of service, with services being held at 2:00 PM. Rev. Doug Mitchell and Rev. Jason Hoychick will officiate. Burial will follow at Cooper cemetery in Merryville, LA.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Beauregard Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ernesto Kufoy, and staff and nurses at Westwood Manor. Also, we are very appreciative of the many prayers from family and friends.

Donations can be made to Ludington Baptist Church, DeRidder, LA, where he was a charter member.

A reception celebrating the Life of Joel Brown will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church in DeRidder, LA.
Joel Brown's Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Guin, Alabama at First United Methodist Church of Guin. Through this means friend and loved ones may join us to honor the life and legacy of Joel Earl Brown.
