Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM on June 29, 2018 at Gambrell Baptist Church in Starks, LA. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 30, 2018 also at Gambrell Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Smith cemetery in Starks, Louisiana.

Darlton Layne Calcote

Darlton Layne Calcote, 65, of Carthage, Texas, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Wood cemetery in Newton, TX.

Martha (Polly) Tyndall

Martha (Polly) Tyndall, 78, of Pickering, LA, passed from this life on May 27, 2018.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.

Christophr DeWayne Ashworth

Christopher DeWayne Ashworth, 41, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, June 21, 2018.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at St. Mary Salvation Center in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Spikes cemetery in Bancroft, LA.

Betty Joan Austin

Betty Joan Austin, 81, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Friday, August 1, 2018.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wallace Alwell, Sr. and Joyce of Bryan, TX, Albert Alwell, Sr., of Navasota, TX, Charles Alwell and Pam of Winters, TX and Timothy Austin and Cinda of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Dorothy RipKoski of Merryville, LA, Marylynn Lee and Ron, Sr. of Ft. Myers, FL, Rachel Simon and Joe of DeRidder, LA, Detra Beauchamp of Merryville, LA, Elizabeth Graves and Richard of Bloomburg, TX and Rebecca Whiddon and Jimmy of Trinity, TX; sister, Orpah Gertrude Austin of Tyler, TX; thirty-one grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and a host of other Family and Friends

Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husbands: Ivy Alwell, and Curtis Austin; and her parents, John and Mary Buchanan.

Visitation will be held on, Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 3:00 – 9:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 6, 2018 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Whitaker cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Brother Dale Howard and Brother Kenneth Gibson will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be, Phillip Buchanan, Keven Buchanan, Dustin Springer, Robert RipKoski, Timothy Austin, Brandon Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be, Wallace Alwell and Jimmy Whiddon.

Jacoby Lynn Gill

Jacoby Lynn Gill, 38, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother Cynthia Gill of DeRidder, LA; sister, Michelle Smithart of DeRidder, LA; grandfather, Paul Gillard of Elton, LA; nieces, Kallie Smithart and Elizabeth Buxton, both of DeRidder, LA; and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Gill loved her music. She, also, loved to draw and color in her spare time. Her love for her family was overwhelming and she’ll be missed dearly.

Mrs. Gill, she was preceded in death by her: father, Tony Eugene Gill; maternal grandmother, Betty Jean Timmerman; maternal grandfather, Dewey Elmo Gill; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Fay Gill all of DeRidder, LA.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jerry Allen Nolan

Jerry Allen Nolan, 78 of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, July 30, 2018.

Services are under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.

Donna Jean Harvey Milam

Donna Jean Milam was 69 years young and lived in DeRidder, Louisiana. She went to be with her Lord on July 28th in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the wife of Keith Milam. They were married 30 years ago on October 10, 1987.

She was born on January 2, 1949 in Leesville, Louisiana and was the daughter of Donald William Harvey and Doris Howard Harvey. Donna was a realtor and Associate Broker for 32 years. She sold real estate in Leesville and DeRidder. She always got to know her clients in a personal way and was known for her sweet and kind spirit. She was also a kind and loving wife, mother, and Mimi. She would do anything for her family and friends and was always the life of a party. Her and Keith enjoyed many fond memories together but the time they enjoyed on their sailboat were some of the best. Donna was an awesome mom as well and would do anything for her son and daughter. She taught them to be a strong man and woman and modeled to them from a young age how to love their Lord. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. Some of their favorites memories of Mimi are the fun times they spent with her in the pool. They will miss their Mimi dearly. Donna was a member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald William Harvey and Doris Howard Harvey, her mother-in-law, Eva Milam, her brothers-in-law F. Clay Tillman Jr. and James Cook and sister Ginger Binion.

In addition to her husband, Keith Milam, Donna is survived by her son Donald Brandon Christy and wife Dena Christy of Leesville, and daughter Wendy Christy Lee and husband Benjamin Lee of Haughton; three grandchildren, Madilynn Christy, and Caleb and Caden Lee; two sisters Kathy Dale Tillman of Panola, TX and Dixie Cook of Shreveport, LA; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank for the compassionate care and attention provided to her at home over the last two years by Peggy Whittington, Jenny Hopkins, and Elaine Lewis.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Her life celebration service will be held at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation at 10:00 AM before the service. Brother George Lee Glass will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

Aloise “Al” Garner,70, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Florence Garner of Merryville, LA; sons, SFC Adrian D. Crumb of Merryville, LA and Elton Graham of Pink Hill, NC; daughter, Teresa A. Hudson Woods of DeRidder, LA; mother, Sarah Garner of Seven Springs, NC; brothers, Wayne and Dennis Parker both of Baltimore, MD; sisters, Marion Jenkins of Goldsboro, NC and Regina Parker of Baltimore MD; godchild, Cree Lenay Samuel of Atlanta, GA; great niece, Courtney Garner of San Diego, CA and grandchildren Milton D. Woods, Jr., Tyreque Woods, Makala Crumb, Maddison A. Jones, Zymier Jennings, Kimara Jennings, Da’Keunia Graham, Tyniqiuana King, and Ladazia Graham.

Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his father Adolph Garner; brothers, James Garner, Kenneth Blue, DeVaughn Parker; and sister, Glenda Garner.

Visitation and funeral service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 10:00 AM at True Light Baptist Church in Merryville, LA. Burial will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans cemetery in Leesville, LA. Brother Allen Hadnott will officiate the service. Honorary pall bearers will be John Hooper, Brian Hooper, Wesley Conners, Kadeem Hudson, Corwin Samuel, Micheal Knighton, Jr., Adrian Crumb, Elton Graham, Carl Hamilton, Roger Taylor and Jamal Taylor.

Gary Lewis Carheel

Gary Lewis Carheel, 64, of Zwolle, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bettina Carheel of Noble, LA; sons, Dennis Carheel of Noble, LA, and Gary Carheel, Jr. & Cassandra of Zwolle, LA; daughter, Felicia Marks & Cardetrick of Zwolle, LA; brother, Johnnie Carheel of San Diego, CA; sisters: Gladys Brazzle of DeRidder, LA, Ruby Conaway of Goochland, VA, Jacklyn Wesson of Arlington, TX, Theresa Crutchfield of Bethany, LA; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Mr. Carheel was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Carheel and Laura Samuel; brothers: Tommy, Theo and David Carheel; sister, Johnnie Maxie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, July 28, 2018 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Pallbearers are John Brazzle, William Brazzle, Jr., Pat Carheel, Brannon Carheel and Johnnie Carheel, Jr. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
