Esther Madeline Gregory, a homemaker, died Friday of liver failure at Greenbriar Nursing Home. She was 73. Mrs. Gregory was born in Barton, Va., and lived in Pearl River for the past nine years. She was a former employee of STARC. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ann and Lisa Marie Gregory. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd., Slidell. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.
HARRINGTON, HUBERT ‘HUGH'

Hubert "Hugh" Harrington, a sales representative with PPG Industries, died Thursday at Meadowcrest Hospital. He was 80. Mr. Harrington was born in Abbeville and lived in Gretna for the past 31 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a former Eucharistic minister at St. Clestus Catholic Church Stonebridge Convalescent. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Texas. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Vincent Harrington; a son, Derrell James Harrington; a daughter, Della Lynne Stockton; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 West Bank Expressway, Harvey. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery.

Draper Scott Lawrence, a cook, died Tuesday at Ochsner Foundation Hospital of a heart attack. He was 24. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include his wife, Misty H. Lawrence; a son, Ky Lawrence; a daughter, Kaya Lawrence; his mother, Yolanda Lawrence; a brother, Milton Lawrence; a sister, Terry Lawrence; and a grandmother, Lula Bell Moss. A funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at Tilly's Funeral Home, 2831 St. Claude Ave. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
MILLER, MARIE PUYPER

Marie Puyper Miller, a retired telephone company service representative, died Friday at Chalmette Skilled Nursing Home. She was 83. Mrs. Miller was born in Mississippi and lived in Chalmette. Survivors include a brother, Robert Puyper of Carriere, Miss.; and three sisters, Kathleen P. Spiers and Rosa Lee P. Crowell, both of Picayune, Miss., and Lena Mae P. Krenkel. A funeral will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be in New Palestine cemetery in Picayune.
MARTIN, ALETHA SIMMONS

Aletha Simmons Martin, a retired novelty store clerk, died Wednesday of Alzheimer's disease at New Orleans Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was 83. Mrs. Martin was born in Gretna and lived in Algiers. She was a member of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church in Harvey, where she was the recording secretary for many years. She also was the founding member of the Smart Set Social and Scholarship Club and an active member of the L.B. Landry High School Parent Teacher's Association. Survivors include a son, Lawrence H. Martin Jr.; a daughter, Myrna Martin Thomas of Fort Washington, Md.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, 817 Grefer Ave., Harvey. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in McDonoghville cemetery. Robert Mills Jr., a retired longshoreman, died Thursday at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 81. Mr. Mills was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a graduate of McDonogh No. 35 High School. He was a member of International Labor Association Local No. 3000. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Robert Mills III and Christopher Mills; five daughters, Marilyn Khaton, Loleta Schneider, Linda Jackson, Mary Jo Coulter and Sybil Mills; and 19 grandchildren. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 3933 Washington Ave. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Biloxi National cemetery.

Henry Marion Perre, a sheet metal worker, died Thursday at Tulane Medical Center of injuries from a fall. He was 85. Mr. Perre was born in Bay St. Louis, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for many years. He worked for Jones-Laughlin Sheet Metal Co. and Metal Service Co. He retired after 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War I, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was a member of VFW Post No. 8012 and the American Legion Post 203. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his companion, Annie P. Haupt; a sister, Ana Mae Strong; and nieces and nephews. A Mass will be said Monday at 11 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Vincent De Paul Mausoleum.
RANDOLPH, VICTOR MOREAU IV

Victor Moreau Randolph IV, a real estate agent with Prudential Gardner, died Thursday of cancer at his home. He was 59. Mr. Randolph was born in Birmingham, Ala., grew up in New Orleans, lived in Lafayette, and lived in Slidell for the past 25 years. He graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He also worked at Wal-Mart Supercenter and was a former employee of Shell Oil and Entergy. He was involved with Boy Scout Troop 346 for 11 years, was a referee with the Slidell Youth Soccer Club and coached the Pearl River High girls soccer team. He was a member of First Methodist Church and its Men's Club and Gideon Sunday school class. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at First Methodist Church of Slidell. Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell is in charge of arrangements.

Melina Rivet St. Pierre, a homemaker, died Saturday at Wynhoven Health Care Center in Marrero. She was 86. Ms. St. Pierre was born in Lafourche Parish and lived in Marrero for many years. Survivors include a son, Gabel St. Pierre Sr.; a daughter, Frances Wells; 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at 11 a.m. at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 West Bank Expressway, Marrero. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Monday from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor cemetery in Westwego.

Betty Dufrene Brignac, a homemaker, died Friday of an aneurysm at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was 66. Mrs. Brignac was born in Bridge City, where she lived most of her life before moving to Talisheek 16 years ago. Survivors include her husband, James "Zero" Brignac; two sons, Brent "Boogie" and Cody Brignac Sr.; three daughters, Jackie Clements, Kim Kraemer and Kris Brignac; a sister, Delores "Lloy" Bouvier; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass will be said Monday at 9 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Visitation will be today from 6 to 11 p.m. and Monday beginning at 7:30 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Park cemetery.

Samuel Thomas Jr., a laborer, died Thursday of cancer at Memorial Medical Center. He was 47. Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended George Washington Carver High School. Survivors include his mother, Gwendolyn Gabriel Thomas; three brothers, Gregory, Don and Carnell Thomas; and four sisters, Charlotte Marshall of Newark, N.J., Donna Penny, Debra Knoten and Lisa Bowser. Cecile Ceaser, a homemaker, died Wednesday of a stroke at Memorial Medical Center. She was 63. Mrs. Ceaser was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
