Wilbert J. "Bro" Dorsey Sr., a self-employed cement finisher, died Monday at Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis, Miss. He was 71. Mr. Dorsey was a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Jean M. Simms Dorsey; three sons, Gary Dorsey of Atlanta, Wilbert J. Dorsey Jr. of Pearlington, Miss., and Ernest Dorsey of New Orleans; four daughters, Madeline Sneed of Washington, D.C., Melissa Dedeaux of Pass Christian, Miss., Michele Tillison of Pearl River and Tina Dorsey; a brother, Ernest Dorsey Jr. of Lima, Ohio; two sisters, Valena Henry of Pass Christian and Eartha Acker; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A Mass will be said Friday at noon at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church, 301 Necaise Ave., Bay St. Louis. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Biloxi National cemetery. J.T. ETIENNE, MARIE ‘MITO' CELLAR

Marie "Mito" Cellar Etienne, a homemaker, died Monday at her home. She was 92. Mrs. Etienne was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and lived in Kenner and New Orleans for the past 52 years. She earned a teaching degree in Santa Cruz. She was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Alex J. Etienne of Kenner; a daughter, Jeannine E. Frederick of Slidell; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Friday at 11 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday starting at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Park cemetery.
HILTON, JAMES ‘HOUND'

James "Hound" Hilton, a student at Arthur Ashe School, died Sunday at Charity Hospital of gunshot wounds. He was 15. Survivors include his father, Benjamin Davis; his mother, Cheryl Hilton; two brothers, Leonard and Everis Hilton; and five sisters, Lashena, Jessica, Denise, Denisha and Jireail Hilton. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at Littlejohn's Funeral Home, 7818 Earhart Blvd. Visitation will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery.
LOUP, ESTHER HAUSER

Esther Hauser Loup, a retired business owner, died Saturday at Metropolitan Hospice. She was 97. Mrs. Loup was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, George C. Mathews; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Wednesday at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Burial was in Metairie cemetery.

Goldie Esther Humphrey Mazin, a retired seamstress, died Sunday of complications from surgery at Touro Infirmary. She was 90. Mrs. Mazin was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a parishioner of St. Raymond Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Henry Joseph Mazin; three daughters, Mona Lisa Mazin White, Janice Mazin Sylvester and Claudia Mazin Johnson; a sister, Teresa Humphrey Perez; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, 1949 Duels St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in St. Roch cemetery No. 2. Betty Hammond McGowan, a homemaker, died Saturday of heart failure at Touro Hospital. She was 57. Mrs. McGowan was born in Tylertown, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past several years. She was a graduate of J.J. Gulledege High School in Tylertown. Survivors include two sons, James and Keith Hammond, both of New Orleans; four brothers, Marcellies and Isiah Hammond, Gary Magee and Walton Hammond of Flagstaff, Ariz.; four sisters, Mary Magee and Catherine Foxworth, both of Tylertown, and Jimmie Williams and Martha Evans; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at St. James Methodist Church, Tylertown. Visitation will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Thelma Boothe McKinstry died Monday at Hammond Nursing Home. She was 91. Mrs. McKinstry was born in Covington and was a resident of Hammond. Survivors include a son, Charles Edward Odom of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four daughters, Odelle O. Roesky of Metairie, Mary O. Beverly of Ponchatoula, Jean O. Reagin of Atlanta and Irma O. Lyons of Houma; two brothers, Huston Boothe of Pumpkin Center and Hulan Boothe of Kaplan; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Consuella Meadoux, a homemaker, died Friday of respiratory failure due to cancer at Memorial Medical Center. She was 73. Mrs. Meadoux was born in New Orleans and lived in Edgard for five years before returning to New Orleans many years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Survivors include four sons, Goldman, Eldridge, Jerome and Hammie Donato Jr.; a daughter, Karen Kelly; a stepson, Errol Meadoux; a stepdaughter, Brenda Smith; a brother, Casserly Wyble; three sisters, Mildred Davis, Iris Smith and Violet Watson; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A wake will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip St. A Mass will be said Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church. Mildred Marshall Moody, a retired dietitian technician, died Saturday of heart failure at Physician Center in Marrero. She was 77. Mrs. Moody was born in Luling and lived in Gretna. She graduated from L.B. Landry High School. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, where she was the former president of the Senior Choir and treasurer of the Pastor's Aid Club. She also was a member of Pride of Gretna Chapter No. 60 Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Moody Jr., Morris Moody and Raynell Michael Moody Sr.; a daughter, JoAnn Moody; her mother, Victoria S. Marshall; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be Friday at 8 p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe St., Gretna. Dismissal will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in McDonoghville cemetery in Gretna. Richard William Palmer, an inspector at Avondale Industries Inc., died Sunday of injuries sustained in a car accident on U.S. 90. He was 50. Mr. Palmer was born in St. Augustine, Fla., and lived in Boutte for the past 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bourg Palmer; a son, Brad William Palmer; a daughter, Brandi P. Bertacci; a brother, Rodger E. Palmer; and his mother, Mary Prince Palmer. A funeral will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Rosemary Sansoni Reich, a homemaker, died Tuesday at her home. She was 83. Mrs. Reich was born in New Orleans and lived in Loranger for the past 21 years. She served as PTA president of several Jefferson Parish schools. Survivors include a son, Stephen Reich of Newport Beach, Calif.; five daughters, Jean Thompson of Orlando, Fla., Katie Merryweather King of Apopka, Fla., Helen Reich of Covington, Bonnie Lee Perk and Rosemary Tassin;, ; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Elijah Scott Sr., the chief deputy for the St. James Parish Sheriff's Office, died Saturday of complications from a stroke at Touro Infirmary. He was 64. Mr. Scott was a lifelong resident of Paulina. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Ann Joseph Scott; four daughters, Linda Gaines, Erica Walker, Barbara Manuel and Odeal Scott; five sons, Eldrin, Jason, Ricky, Anthony and Elijah Scott Jr.; two stepsons, Christopher and Bernard Blunt; a sister, Ernestine Lee; five brothers, Joseph, George, Jake, Samuel and the Rev. Benjamin Scott; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today at 5 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church at 3762 Louisiana 44 in Paulina. A religious service will follow at 7 p.m. A funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m at the church. Burial will be in Antioch cemetery in Paulina.
