Jeannette Milliett D'Amico, a retired bookkeeper, died Wednesday at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 82. Mrs. D'Amico was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie. She was a past treasurer and president of Departmental De Louisiana of the Eight and Forty, a past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 350 and a past president of the Louisiana State American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Francis Sr. and Anthony "Tony" D'Amico Jr.; a daughter, Jane D. Wheeler; and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 9 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum.

Dennis Oscar Davis III, a construction worker, died Monday of a heart attack at University Hospital. He was 33. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He graduated from O. Perry Walker High School. Survivors include a son, Dennis Hall; three daughters, Tatyana Henry, Deandra Hall and Tatyana Davis; his mother, Geraldine Davis; a brother, Miguel Davis; a sister, Loralyn Davis; and his grandfather, Cornelius Davis. A funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, 1020 Virgil St., Gretna. Visitation will begin at noon. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park.
DAVIS, WARRIOR JESSIE 'WA WA'

Warrior Jessie "Wa Wa" Davis, a student at Fannie Lou Hamer charter school, died Friday of gunshot wounds in the 2400 block of Thalia Street. He was 15. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a member of the Original Morning Star Baptist Church. Survivors include his companion, Lionisha Dorthey; his father, Jessie Mimitte; his mother, Sylvania Gloria Davis; his grandfather, Allen Davis Sr.; four brothers, Jermaine Lavell, Joseph Anthony, Darrell Tyrone and Joshua Allen Davis; and a sister, Gloria Commoniche Davis. A funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Majestic Mortuary Service. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Holt cemetery.

Claude Joseph Dubret Sr., a retired firefighter with the New Orleans Fire Department, died Tuesday at his home. He was 80. Mr. Dubret was born in St. Bernard Parish and lived in Meraux for the past 30 years. He served in the National Guard and then as a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Survivors include his wife, Esther DiFranco Dubret; a son, Claude J. Dubret Jr.; two daughters, Claudia Dubret and Rose Marie Francke; a sister, Emily Miceli; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Richard E. Ellis died Tuesday of cancer at Hammond Nursing Home. He was 48. Mr. Ellis was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero for many years. He attended Holy Rosary Boarding School. Nelson Mauricio Fernandez, died Monday of undetermined causes at his home. He was 22. Mr. Nelson was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and lived in New Orleans for the past 15 years. He attended St. Joan of Arc High School. Survivors include a son, Nelson Fernandez Jr.; his parents, Nelson E. and Aida Paz Fernandez; his sister, Carol Possas; and his grandmother, Mariana Moreno. Blanche W. Glapion, a bus driver for the Orleans Parish school system, died Monday of a heart attack at Memorial Medical Center. She was 62. Ms. Glapion was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She attended Walter L. Cohen Senior High School. Survivors include three sons, Michael K. Williams Sr., William Bryant III and Earl J. Blackwell Jr.; a daughter, Laurise W. Thomas; a brother, Jesse Wilson Jr.; two sisters, Lucille Williams and Viola Haney; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Frederick Franklin Gordon III, a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, died Nov. 20 of cancer at his home. He was 60. Mr. Gordon was born in Mobile, Ala., and lived in New Orleans for many years. He was a graduate of Blount High School in Mobile and attended Florida A&M; University. He was a member of Beecher Memorial United Church of Christ, the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club and the Ambassador Krewe. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Crockett Gordon; two daughters, Cherwanda and Fredrica Gordon; two stepsons, Charles and Craig Ferrand; five stepdaughters, Myra Nwachuka, Tyra Legard, Tricia Menyweather and Cassandra and Vanessa Ferrand; four brothers, Edward, Alfred, Clarence and Albert Gordon; two sisters, Annie Cockrell and Rosa Gordon; and six grandchildren. Mary Wimberly Gordon, a homemaker, died Sunday at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. She was 92. Ms. Gordon was born in Choctaw, Ala., and lived in New Orleans for the past 12 years. She was a member of Gaza Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Edgar C. and Willie M. Gordon; three daughters, Mary Ellar Thompkins of Yantley, Ala., Jennie R. Gaines of Huntsville, Ala., and Daisy G. McRae; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at D.W. Joseph Peter Guarisco Sr., a retired butcher, died Wednesday at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 88. Mr. Guarisco was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie. He graduated from Warren Easton High School. He worked at Solari's in the French Quarter for many years and later at Vonderhaar's Meat Market and Deanie's Seafood. He was a parishioner of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances Georgette Schindeldecker Guarisco; a son, Joseph Peter Guarisco Jr. of Luling; two daughters, Lois Frances Guarisco Friloux of Carencro and Joy Guarisco; three sisters, Frances Guarisco Landetto, Mary Rita Guarisco Bourgeois and Flora Mary Guarisco Lolle; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
