Louise K. Davis, a clinical psychiatric social worker, died Friday at her home. She was 82. Mrs. Davis was born in Lake Charles and lived in Metairie for many years. She received a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a master's from Tulane University. She was a member of League of Women Voters. Survivors include three daughters, Paola Harvath of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Porge Cosey of Baton Rouge and Lisa Davis-Sinrus of Gainesville, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. Lake Lawn Metairie is in charge of arrangements.
THIBODEAUX, YVONNE MARIE ‘TIBBY'

Yvonne Marie "Tibby" Thibodeaux, a retired employee of Whitney National Bank and an Avon sales representative, died Feb. 5 of ovarian cancer at Memorial Medical Center. She was 65. Mrs. Thibodeaux was born in Labadieville and lived in New Orleans for the past 58 years. She was a graduate of Martin Berhman High School. She worked with Whitney Bank for 32 years and Avon for 25 years and was a member of the Avon President's Club. Survivors include a son, Louis John Thibodeaux; a brother, Milton John Thibodeaux; five sisters, Patricia Fernandez, Marceline Dore, Jean Bobe, Judy Merritt and Pam Mayer; two grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 1 p.m. at St. Julien Eymard Catholic Church, 2701 Lawrence St. Burial was private. Professional Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
TAYLOR, ERNEST JR.

Ernest Taylor Jr., a retired laborer, died Feb. 27 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was 85. Mr. Taylor was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with Company B of the 83rd Signal Heavy Construction Battalion. Survivors include his wife, Ethel James Taylor; two sons, Raymond and Ernest Taylor III; four daughters, Lorraine Stewart, Jacquelyn Dumas, Veola Ann Brooks and Aileen Van Meter; four stepsons, John, Ronald, Robert and Don James; a stepdaughter, Sylvia Martin; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Gloryland Mount Gillion Baptist Church, 1515 Dryades St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery. United Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Leonard Irvine Reed, a retired employee of the Kenner Sewerage and Water Department, died March 2 of respiratory and heart failure at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was 72. Mr. Reed was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 35 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Sweet Home Christian Center. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Moore-Eason of Smyrna, Ga., and Cynthia Moore-Day of Marrero; a brother, Milton Reed Jr. of Donaldsonville; a sister, Odessa Reed Lovincy of Clarksville; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Sweet Home Christian Center, 434 Jackson St., Kenner. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Belgrove cemetery. Elmust Willie Williams, a retired mechanic, died Friday at his home. He was 87. Mr. Williams was born in Beauregard, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 70 years. Survivors include his wife, Gladys McGee Williams; two daughters, Ruby Nell Lewis of Atlanta and Catherine Johnson; a brother, Luther James Barefield of Beauregard; and a grandchild. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Gaskin-Southall-Gordon & Gordon Funeral Home, 1225 N. Rampart St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park.

Allen J. Williams Sr., a retired president of D&S; Sheet Metal Works, Inc., died Saturday at Touro Infirmary. He was 80. Mr. Williams was born in Reserve and lived in Jefferson for the past 52 years. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of the Holy Name Society and the American Legion Post No. 267. He was a Eucharistic minister and usher for St. Agnes Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Forsyth Williams; a son, Allen J. Williams Jr.; three daughters, Gwendolyn W. Hirsius, Tammy W. McCollum and Wendy M. Williams; two sisters, Marguerite W. Talley and Audrey W. Bienvenu; and nine grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, 3310 Jefferson Highway, Jefferson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Irene Poindexter, a retired caregiver, died Feb. 25 at Crescent City Health Care Center. She was 75. Mrs. Poindexter was born in Woodville, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 32 years. Survivors include a daughter, Irene Morris of Washington, D.C. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Charbonnet-Labat Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park.
DUPRE, KENNETH JOSEPH

Kenneth Joseph Dupre, a preventive maintenance supervisor at Avondale Industries, died Saturday at Touro Infirmary of complications from a work-related accident. He was 54. Mr. Dupre was born in Westwego and lived in Marrero for the past 10 years. He graduated from West Jefferson High School. He was a sergeant in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was head coach for the men's varsity soccer team at L.W. Higgins High School for four years and coached youth soccer for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, LaDonna Browning Dupre; two sons, Kenneth Brent Dupre of Prairieville and Brock Darren Dupre of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Rhonda Dupre Bourg; a sister, Margaret Dupre LeBlanc; and a grandchild. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth St., Westwego. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 to 10 a.m. at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

Shameka D. "Mucka" Dale, a child-caregiver, died Saturday of complications from sickle cell anemia at Tulane University Medical Center. She was 21. Miss Dale was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She was a graduate of Alfred Lawless High School and a member of Good Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include her father, Bob Dale Jr.; her mother, Barbara Mearis Dale; a brother, Bob Dale III; three sisters, Lillian, Latoya and Shantel Dale; and her grandmothers, Lillian Mearis and Mary Ella Dale. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Good Faith Baptist Church, 1703 Benton St. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. D.W. Henry Bernard, a retired foreman with Falstaff Brewery Co., died Sunday at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was 93. Mr. Bernard was born in Palacias, Texas, and lived in Slidell for the past 10 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Louis and Ronald Bernard; a stepson Lawrence Evans; two stepdaughters, Juanita Ducarpe and Patricia Herrmann; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood cemetery, 120 City Park Ave. Schoen Funeral Home of Slidell is in charge of arrangements.

Estelle Virgets Bates, former owner of Ozone Water Co., died Saturday at Metairie Health Care Center. She was 91. Mrs. Bates was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She had been a volunteer at the American Cancer Society, the Heart Ambassadors, Magnolia School, the Leukemia Association and Children's Hospital. Survivors include a son, Gavin G. Chachere, and two grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Metairie cemetery.
