CIKO, MICHAEL A. SR.

Michael A. Ciko Sr., a retired machinist, mechanic and carpenter, died Monday at his home. He was 83. Mr. Ciko was born in New Orleans and lived in Slidell for more than 70 years. He was a machinist at Higgins during World War II and worked on a landing craft for the Normandy invasion. He was a former employee of Southern Ship Building Corp. and Halter Marine Services. He was also a former trapper, selling muskrats, minks and otters. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Lorena Schouest Ciko; three sons, Michael A. Ciko Jr. of Houston, Larry J. and Wayne C. Ciko; a brother, George J. Ciko; and three grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.
COLLINS, ALINE MARY LOMBARD JOHNSON

Aline Mary Lombard Johnson Collins, a retired teacher at Fisk-Howard Elementary School and a cosmetologist, died Thursday of cancer at Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center. She was 74. Mrs. Collins was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy High School, Xavier University and the former Mada Porter Edwards Beauty School. She was a founding member of Girl Friends Inc. and was a member of the Pals of 65 Club, the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and the United Teachers of New Orleans. Survivors include a stepson, Charles Collins of Beaumont, Texas; a brother, Vincent Lombard Sr. of Seattle; two sisters, June Lombard-Allen of Seattle and Shirley Lombard Stone of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Thursday at 10 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche St., Algiers. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Burial will be in McDonogh cemetery in Gretna. Mary Lou Bradford, a retired certified nursing assistant, died Thursday of pneumonia at Kindred Hospital. She was 68. Ms. Bradford was born in Jackson, Miss., and lived in New Orleans for the past 44 years. She graduated from Jim Hill High School and attended Campbell College in Jackson. She worked at Touro Infirmary. Survivors include three sons, Gary, Timothy and Donald Morris; four daughters, Gloria and Janice Bradford and Debra and Stacy Morris; a brother, Tom Bradford; a sister, Betty McElveen; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 2515 Franklin Ave. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Lois Beal, a retired nurse's aide, died Thursday of cancer at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 49. Ms. Beal was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie. She graduated from Riverdale High School. She was a member of Nineveh Baptist Church and the Mass and Inspirational Choir. Survivors include a son, Glenn Beal; her mother, Elizabeth Beal; three sisters, Maxine Hutchinson, Evetta Clark and Lillian Tobias; and two grandchildren. A funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Nineveh Baptist Church, 1009 Wilker Neal Ave., Metairie. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Love and Charity cemetery in Kenner.

Ray Anthony Williams died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. He was 47. Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was an Army veteran and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dennis J. Williams; a daughter, Reynell Williams; his mother, Katherine Williams; five brothers, Master L. Williams of Rockford, Ill., Thomas Neal of Jackson, Miss., Ozzie, Dwight and Isdock Williams Jr.; three sisters, Veronica Williams of Atlantic City, N.J., Dorothy Grimble of Winnsboro and Joycelyn Jackson of Marrero; and four grandchildren. A funeral was held Sunday at Littlejohn's Funeral Home. Burial was in Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church cemetery in New Hebron, Miss.

Julia Williams, a housekeeper, died Saturday of liver cancer at her home. She was 62. Mrs. Williams was born in Mandeville and lived in Lacombe for the past 30 years. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert Williams Jr.; nine sons, Carl, Charles, Jeffry, Kevin, Andre, John, Gilbert III and Jacob Williams, and Ken Certain; five daughters, Julia, Marsha and Cindy Certain, and Coralee and Chrissy Williams; two stepdaughters, Lillian and Samantha Williams; five brothers, Louis, James, George, Willie and Alphonse Johnson; five sisters, Ester, Shirley, Becky, Helen and Delores Johnson; 36 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Semphronia Keller Washington, a homemaker, died Friday at Metropolitan Hospice. She was 94. Mrs. Washington was born in Cottonport and lived in New Orleans for the past 47 years. She was a member of Mount Rock Baptist Church where she had served on the Deaconess Board and was a former member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Edison and the Rev. Othaniel Taylor Sr.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Mount Rock Baptist Church, 3011 Laussat Place. Mary "Granny" Robinson Thomas, a homemaker, died Thursday at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. She was 80. Mrs. Thomas was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. Survivors include four sons, Lester, Arle, Matthew and Milton Thomas; two daughters, Bernadette Baham and Carolyn Farley; a brother, Matthew Robinson Jr.; a sister, Thelma DeBose; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Kevin Anthony Stodard Sr., a painter in the construction business, died Wednesday of injuries suffered in a car accident in Slidell. He was 23. Mr. Stodard was born in Slidell and lived in Pearl River. Survivors include a son, Kevin Anthony Stodard Jr.; two daughters, Teresa M. and Alexus Stodard; his father, Rickey Stodard Sr.; his mother, Vivian Stodard; his grandfather, Cliffton Stodard; and his grandmothers, Lily Morgan and Betty Wedlon. A funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Louisiana 41, Pearl River. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Hickory Memorial Gardens in Pearl River.

Helen Anderson Skinner, a retired physical therapist, died Thursday of kidney failure at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was 67. Mrs. Skinner was born in Brookhaven, Miss., and lived in Slidell for the past 15 years. She was a member of Pentecost Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an adult Bible school teacher and mother of the church. Survivors include six sons, Arthur, Carnell, Michael, Robert, Anthony and Willie Anderson Jr.; six daughters, Carolynn Kelly and Melinda, Willie Mae, Debra Marie, Geraldine and Leaster Anderson; a brother, B.B. King Bryant; two sisters, Ella Dogthy and Dorthy Bryant; three grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Cheryl Windstein Simpson, a secretary for Bissonet Plaza Elementary School, died Sunday of complications from a stroke at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 56. Mrs. Simpson was a lifelong resident of Metairie. She graduated from East Jefferson High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. Survivors include her husband, William F. Simpson III; a son, Scott W. Simpson; a daughter, Amiee S. Giordano; her mother, Reba N. Windstein; a brother, George J. Windstein Jr.; and two grandchildren. A Mass will be said Wednesday at 1 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
