WOMACK, SR. MILTON JOSEPH
Born March 11, 1926, in Baton Rouge, he died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at 10 p.m. in Baton Rouge of heart arrhythmia at 77 years of age. He was a general contractor and founder of Milton J. Womack Inc. A graduate of Baton Rouge High School, Milton Womack attended LSU in Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and for his profound impact on so many lives. Survived by his wife, Margaret Champagne Womack; daughters, Sherrill Lane and husband Tom, Barbara Womack, and Anne Carville and husband Steve; and son, Milton J. Womack, Jr. and wife Ellen. Also survived by his stepchildren, George G. Griffon III and wife Jodi, Rene� Griffon Morris and husband Dedric, Lance Griffon, Anyce Griffon Naegele and husband Matt and Duane Griffon. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Camille Palmer, Caroline Lane, Malcolm Lane, Archer Lane, Stephen N. Carville Jr., Claire Carville, Joseph Carville, Nicholas Carville, Riley Womack, Hannah Womack, Ashlyn Womack, Mary Katherine Womack, Beau Griffon, Georgia Griffon and Cole Naegele. Pallbearers will be Joseph James Carville, Stephen Normand Carville Jr., Duane Joseph Griffon, George Gustave Griffon III, Lance Champagne Griffon, Malcolm Taylor Lane, Thomas Archer Lane, and Thomas MacDougall Womack. preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara "Tita" Sevier Womack; parents Floyd and Rose Womack; and brother Floyd "Flop" Womack Jr. Visiting Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Miles Walsh. Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Park, with graveside rites conduced by the Marine Corps League. Among the many honors bestowed on Womack include honorary doctorate degrees from LSU and Southern University, Brotherhood Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews, Golden Deeds Award from the Baton Rouge Intercivic Council, Volunteer Activist Award, Fundraiser of the Year by the National Society of Fundraiser Executives, March of Dimes Real Estate Award and the National Humanitarian Award from the National Recreation and Park Association. He was a member of the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame and the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame. WOODS, PHILLIP JOSEPH "SOS"
A resident and native of Paincourtville, he died at 3 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003. He was 79, born Aug. 12, 1924. Visitation at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Paincourtville, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003. Interment in St. Elizabeth cemetery. Survived by his wife, Doris Hebert Woods; three sons and daughters-in-law, Odom and Deanie Woods of Napoleonville, Mark and Susan Woods of Vacherie and Randy and Suzanne Woods of Bayou Lourse; two brothers, Sidney and Louis Woods, both of Paincourtville; seven grandchildren and spouses, Chad and Alison Woods of Napoleonville, Stacy and Eric Daigle of Labadieville, Brittany Woods of Pierre Part, Jill and Joni Woods of Vacherie, Blair and Bethany Woods of Bayou Lourse; and three great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Connor Woods of Napoleonville, and Camero Daigle of Labadieville. preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Annette Simoneaux Woods; a brother, Wilson Woods; and a grandchild, Brandi Woods. He was a veteran of World War II and an employee of Dugas & LeBlanc Co-op. Landry's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her longtime caregiver, Mary Ray of Zachary; cousin, Mai Francis Doles of Plain Dealing; and numerous second cousins. preceded in death by her husband, Lincoln Miller "Pete" Agnew; parents, Edwin and Irma Crais Montan; a brother, William Edwin "Eddie" Montan; and sister-in-law, Marguerite Star Montan. A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Washington Parish, he died at his home on Monday, Oct. 13, 2003. He was 72. Died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at his residence in Port Allen. He was 93 and a native of Brusly. Visitation at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, conducted by Rev. Henry Vavasseur. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and James Wester, McHenry, Ill.; a son, Jim Allain, Port Allen; a sister, Beverly Dupuy; a brother, Bert Allain; six grandchildren, Katherine Wester McNichols, Suzanne and Jennifer Wester, and Michelle, Michael, and Stephen Allain; and three great-grandchildren, Judy Jabbour, Lucy and Patrick McNichols. A homemaker and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Earl K. Long Medical Center. She was 69 and a native of Brusly. A self-employed carpenter and a resident of Prairieville, he passed away at 8:09 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003. He was 51 and a native of Reserve. He was a member of Baton Rouge Home Builders Association and a 1970 graduate of Woodlawn High School.
