A retired operator for BREC with 25 years of service, he died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at his residence. He was 55 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Sam Maranto. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Vita D. and Kelly J. Manno Sr., Baton Rouge; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Lou Digirolamo, Greenwell Springs; nephews, Jimmy Manno, Kenneth Manno and Dwayne Digirolamo; great-nephews, Sean Cunningham, Kyle Manno, Eric Lee, Justin Digirolamo, Jay Simoneaux, Jared Simoneaux and Walker Griffon; nieces, Ginger Morris, Paula Cunningham, Margo Digirolamo, Tonia Griffon, Sonia Simoneaux, Nicole Manno and Kelley Cunningham; and a great-niece, Mattie Griffon. preceded in death by parents, Nick and Josephine Digirolamo. GROSS, JOSEPHINE PURPERA "FENIE"
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, she died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at her home in Baton Rouge surrounded by her loved ones. She was 84, co-owner of State Lumber Co. and a retired registered nurse. She was an avid LSU football fan. Vis-itation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003. Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, celebrated by the Rev. Peter Burrows. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by two daughters, Stephanie G. Gross and Anne Galligan, both of Baton Rouge; a sister, Mary Purpera "Moddie" Gremillion; two grandchildren, Sheila R. Harris, Slidell, and Chase A. Rawls, Baton Rouge; and a great-grandson, Jon Harris. preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Gross; parents, John and Mattea Russo Purpera; four sisters, Rose P. Lowery, Conjetta P. Taravella, Theresa P. "Tris" Losavio and Eugenia P. "Genie" Gremillion; and five brothers, Joseph A., Vincent, Guy Sr., Salvadore and Frank Paul Pupera. Pallbearers will be Chase Rawls, Jude and Pat Gremillion, John Losavio, Nace Rogers and Albert Merey. Honorary pallbearers are Jon Harris, Leonard and Michael Gremillion and Keith Manley. She was a graduate of Innis High School and Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing. Special thanks to the staffs of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Baton Rouge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge.

HOOD, SR. AUTHER LAWSON
A native of Holden, he died Thursday morning, Dec. 4, 2003, at his residence in Denham Springs. He was 84. Visiting at Light House Pentecostal Church, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and after 8 a.m. Sunday. Religious service at the church at 1 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Arnold. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by his wife, Ruby Mae Hood; four sons, James O. Hood, Auther Lawson Hood Jr., William Norwood Hood and Charles Ray Hood; two sisters, Inez Sumrall and Nora Hoyt; two brothers, L.D. Hood and Johnny Hood; a very special sister-in-law, Marie Singleton; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. preceded in death by his father, William L. Hood; mother, Etta Lanier Hood; two sisters, Elma Ballard and Audry Hood; two brothers, Hermon Hood and William Hood; a half-brother, Eddie Crowder; a daughter, Ruby Jean Hood; and a grandson, John Lawson Hood. HULL, SISTER LAURA RUTH MACK
"I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Sister Laura Ruth Mack Hull was born in Zachary April 28, 1921, to the union of the late Samuel C. Mack and the late Emma Franklin Mack. She was called to Christ and baptized by the late Rev. John Clark at Red-wood Baptist Church and later became a member of the Greater Philadelphia Baptist Church, where she served as a true and faithful member. She was a member of the choir in her earlier years and she served diligently as the church secretary for nearly 40 years. She attended Eastern Star Elementary School in East Baton Rouge Parish. She graduated from McKinley High School and Leland College. She was a dedicated special education teacher in the East Baton Rouge Parish school system, where she retired after 25 years of faithful service. On Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at 12:30 p.m. God was walking in His garden, one made with His own hands. The sun was shining on each blossom, while workers young and old were toiling throughout all the lands. He was searching for a worker dedicated and true. In our midst He found one worthy, so dedicated and true, and our dear Sister Hull did He so choose. Tired from her labors and suffering, she had done all she could do. She took the Master's hand for she knew he'd see her through. This faithful soldier was located in Zachary with her loving husband. She leaves a legacy of sweet memories for a devoted and caring husband, Henry Frank Hull; a daughter, Donnie Faye Hull; a son, Falcolm Exoe Hull; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Collins Hull; and a granddaughter, Denikka LaToya Hull. She leaves to mourn two sisters, Mamie Mack Burrell and Marie Mack Jones, both of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Lodee Theresa Mack, Bessie Mack, Rachel Catherine Mack Minor and Mildred Mariah Mack Jones; and six brothers, Cicero, John B., Joe, Wesley, Oliver Sr. and Walter Mack Sr. Visitation at Greater Philadelphia Baptist Church, 24567 Cook Road, Slaughter, from noon Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, until funeral service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Odell L. Tickles, pastor. Interment in church cemetery. Richardson Funeral Home, Clinton, in charge of arrangements. "I have ascended the highest mountain, waded in murky waters, trembled in terrible pain, and tasted delightful pleasure. Now I relinquish this life for a better one. I go now to receive the reward for which I labored faithfully."

LAMBERT, CLARICE GERTRUDE HOFFMAN
A retired employee of the Louisiana State Library, she died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 90, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of St. Gabriel. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Visiting at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Satur-day. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Jane Lambert of Baton Rouge; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Leon Perkins, Baton Rouge, and June and William Worsham of Nipomo, Calif.; grandchildren, Justin and Jeffrey Lambert and Cynthia Perkins Polson, all of Baton Rouge, Suzanne Perkins Kelley of Spring Grove, Pa., and Katherine and Jennifer Worsham, both of Nipomo; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Abigail and Katherine Polson, all of Baton Rouge; and a sister, Myrtle Hoffman Broussard of Gonzales. preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Lambert; parents, Clarence and Mable Hoffman; two brothers, C.G. Max and James Hoffman; and a sister, Corinne Hoffman Guedry. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church.

LEBLANC, SHIRLEY RAMAGOS
A retired postal worker for the U.S. Postal Service with 30 years of service, she died at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, in Baton Rouge. She was 71 and a native and resident of White Castle. Visiting at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church from 8 a.m. Saturday until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jules Brunet. Interment in White Castle cemetery. Survived by two sisters, Myrtle Poirier, Marrero, and Cynthia Dugas, White Castle; and her nieces and nephews, Mark Poirier, Greg Dugas, Janet Stassi, Ken Dugas, Matthew Poirier, Dakota Dugas, Jake Stassi, Kyle Dugas, Logan Dugas, Nick Stassi and Kaitlyn Dugas. preceded in death by her husband, Sterling "Stack" LeBlanc; parents, Alden J. and Linda Rivere Ramagos; and a sister, Joyce Duthu. LITTLE, SR. HERMAN
A Realtor and the proprietor of Little's and Associates, he died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Ochsner Hospital. He was 56, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans. Visitation at Macedonia Mis-sionary Baptist Church, 2800 Wyandotte St., Baton Rouge, from 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, until fu-neral service at noon. Burial will be private. He is survived by his wife, Edith Marie Smith Little of Baton Rouge; a son, Herman Little Jr. of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Rhonda D. Little Sims of St. Rose; a son-in-law, Darryl Sims; a brother, Brian Little; two sisters, Carolyn Little Beasley and Debra Davis; and a granddaughter, Crystal Sims; four aunts, Dorothy Williams of Plaquemine, Irma Breaux of New Orleans, Thelma Carter of Detroit and Christine Mellicon of Trotwood, Ohio; an uncle, James Beauchamp; two sisters-in-law, Diane Smith and Sylvia Smith, both of New Orleans; four brothers-in-law, Robert Smith III and William Smith, both of California, Michael Smith of New Orleans and Donald Smith of Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. He was a graduate of Iberville High School and Southern University. He was a member and deacon of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Baton Rouge. MARTINEZ, ALTHEA WILLIAMS
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at her home. She was 89, and was born and lived all her life in New Orleans. She was a retired employee of Delta Steamship Lines. She is survived by two daughters, Fran and husband Victor Bussie of Baton Rouge, and Althea Mayer of New Orleans; two sons, Anthony Martinez of New Orleans, and John Martinez and wife Mara of Inman, S.C.; a sister, Louise W. Lambert of St. Rose; a brother, Oliver A. and wife Margaret Williams of New Iberia; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Steward Buckley; and her beloved Fannie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John O. Martinez; and parents, Oliver and Louise Williams. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at All Faiths Funeral Home chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd. (adjacent to Greenwood cemetery), New Orleans, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003. MORRISON, LELA CAROLE
Born on Nov. 17, 1944, in Hooks, Texas, and raised in Jefferson, Texas, she died at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a resident of Baton Rouge. She retired after 13 years as an administrative specialist for traffic engineering for the city-parish government in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by Dr. Dennis Terry. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by her husband, Jon Joseph Morrison, Baton Rouge; mother-in-law, Alice Faye Morrison, Bothell, Wash.; a son, Phillip Henry Morrison and fiancee Tracye Martin, Baton Rouge; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Elmer Leon and Lois Henderson, Madisonville, Texas, and Danny Neal Henderson, Lufkin, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Jim Taylor, Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. preceded in death by a son, Jon Alan Morrison; parents, Alford and Alma Henderson; a brother, Alan Henderson; and half-brother, Morris Thompson. Pallbearers will be Mike Hill, Mike Earnheart, Ken Ridgedell, Tony Agosta, Skip Lapeyrouse and Gueth Braddock. She enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking and traveling.
