SICILY ISLAND, La. - Services for Lola Mae Cooper Thompson, 84, of Sicily Island, La., who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Pine Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Hensley officiating.

Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Joe Nathan Allen

VIDALIA, La. - Funeral arrangements for Joe Nathan Allen, 52, of Vidalia, La., brother of Mayor Gene Allen of Ferriday, La., who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in San Diego, Calif. following a brief illness, are incomplete and will be announced later by Concordia Funeral Home.

Ottis L. Skinner

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Ottis L. Skinner, 62, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore with the Rev. L.B. Oliver officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Skinner was born Jan. 22, 1942, in Waterproof, the son of David Skinner Jr. and Alice Clark.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his father, David Skinner Jr. of Ferriday; five sisters, Winnie Smith (Leon) of Ferriday, Arnvie D. Beard, Panzella Davis, Bobbie N. Leathers and Deloris Davis (Lindsey), all of Houston, Texas; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leola Richardson Haynes

Sept. 24, 1913 - Dec. 28, 2004

WATERPROOF, La. -- Services for Leola Richardson Haynes, 91, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Waterproof, who died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at the Memorial Hospital Southwest in Houston, will be 11 a.m. today at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Moses officiating.

Burial will be in the Loamland cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Haynes was born Sept. 24, 1913, in Vidalia, La., the daughter of the late Johnny and Josephine Duncan Richardson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joe Haynes.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Rogers Haynes and wife, Eugenia, and Johnny Preston Haynes, all of Missouri City, Texas; daughter, Bessie Mae Haynes Williams of Dallas, Texas; brother, Herman Richardson and wife, Lillian, of New Orleans, La.; two sisters, Maude Woodside and Cleotha Richardson, both of Vidalia, La.; grandchild, Marlon Ellis of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Randolph Ramsey "Randy" Bradford

FERRIDAY, La. - Funeral services for Randolph Ramsey "Randy" Bradford, 55, of Little Rock, Ark. and formerly of Catahoula Parish, who died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, are incomplete at Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Dorothy Mae Green

Dec. 25, 1930 - July 23, 2003

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for Dorothy Mae Green, 72, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Villa Feliciana Medical Complex in Jackson, LA, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Dave Mays officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Green was born Dec. 25, 1930, in Concordia Parish, LA, the daughter of Minnie Taylor and Fleming Owens.

She was retired from Heritage Manor and was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Olee Green; one son, James Wallace Jr. and his wife, Fay; one daughter, Deloris Dunkley and her husband, Shelvey; sister, Rosie Bethley; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be James Wallace, Jr., Shelvey Dunkley, Freddie Bethley, Larry Bethley, Torrence Wallace and Robert Davis, Jr.

Irma Washington

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for Irma Washington, 73, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home, Inc. of Ferriday.

Wake service will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker.

Molinda Ray Hawkins

Oct. 24, 1929 - July 28, 2003

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for Molinda Ray Hawkins, 73, of Ferriday, who died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Larry Hawkins officiating.

Burial will be in the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Hawkins was born Oct. 24, 1929, in Ferriday.

Survivors include five sons, Willie and Robert Ray of Ferriday, Frank Hawkins of Greenwood, Andrew Hawkins of Jonesville, LA and David Hawkins of Killeen, TX; one daughter, Wanda H. Hunter of Ferriday; one sister, Roberta Ray of Indianapolis, IN; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Emma Jackson

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for Emma Jackson, 55, of Ferriday, who died Monday, July 28, 2003, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home, Inc. of Ferriday.

She was a housewife.

Caly Daniel, Jr.

Aug. 15, 1930 - July 21, 2003

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for Caly Daniel, Jr., 73, of Sicily Island, LA, who died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Hoots and the Rev. Larry Tucker officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Daniel was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Catahoula Parish, the son of Caly Sr. and Johnnie Rea Cooper Daniel.

He was a life long resident of Catahoula Parish and was a Baptist. He was a pipefitter/welder for Monday Construction Co. of Houston.

Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Green of Natchez, Shelia Martin of Winnsboro, LA and Dena McCartney of Monterey, LA; son, Tony Daniel of Vidalia, LA; two sisters, Erciel Newsome and Ann Myers, both of Sicily Island; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mike Martin, Jess McCartney, Timothy McCartney, Glen Whittington, Walter Myers and Tommy McCartney.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Newsome and Emery King.

Fred "Carwash" McMorris

July 14, 1932 - Sept. 26, 2003

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for Fred "Carwash" McMorris, 71, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Johnnie Hollins officiating.

Burial will be in Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. McMorris was born July 14, 1932, in Woodville.

He was the retired owner of Ferriday Carwash.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Smith McMorris of Ferriday; seven sons, Arthur McMorris of Natchez, Frederick Washington, Terrence Washington, Norman McMorris and Earl Lyles, all of Ferriday, Eldon Smith of Augusta, GA and Frank Smith of St. Joseph, LA; seven daughters, Laura Ward, Essie McMorris and Gloria Hinkston, all of Ferriday, Nicole Whitley and Katie Myles of Atlanta, GA, Janice Henderson of Natchez and Amanda McMorris of Houston, TX; one sister, Lottie McMorris of Washington; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James "Bubber" Myles

Sept. 3, 1940 - Sept. 20, 2003

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for James "Bubber" Myles, 63, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Six Street Church of God in Christ in Ferriday with Elder Willie Ellis officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of R. D. Mackel and Sons.

The procession will leave at 10:15 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home.

Visitation is from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Myles was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Natchez, the son of Georgia Rice Myles and the late James Myles.

He was formerly employed with Armstrong/Fidelity Tire and Rubber, was a faithful member of the Church of God in Christ and was a member of the Local 303 Union.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Hughes Myles of Natchez; his mother, Georgia Rice Myles of Natchez; 11 children, James Myles Jr. and Jackie Myles of Natchez, Donald McKnight, Belinda Myles, Delores Myles Fleming and husband, Melvin, Lisa Rankins and husband, Ira, Debra Ward and husband, Jeffery and Sandra Myles, all of Atlanta, GA, Shenita Martin of Monroe, LA, Kelvin Hughes and Walter Hughes of Natchez; three brothers, Willie "Bob" Rice and wife, Sheila of New Orleans, LA, John Albert Myles of Natchez and George Henry Myles and wife, Ida of New Orleans; two sisters, Mary Virginia Johnson and husband, James and Ella Lyles and husband, Freddie, all of Natchez; five aunts, Luberta Hayes-Parker, Vivian Wallace, Johnetta Foster, Jessie B. Gaylor and Neothia Snyder, all of Natchez; one great-aunt, Ruth McField; two uncles, Willie "Polly" Rice of Jackson and Samuel Bland of Natchez; one god-child, Edward J. Connor Jr.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Peter Granger, Willie "Bob" Rice, Harry Smith, Harold Smith, Ronald Dunmore and Ernest Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie "Polly" Rice, George Myles, Kelvin Hughes, Walter Hughes and James L. Myles Jr.

Jan. 23, 1935 - Sept. 21, 2003

FERRIDAY, LA - Services for the Rev. Odell Williams, 68, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2003, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will be in Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Rev. Williams was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Ferriday.

Survivors include his wife, Olla Shorts Williams of Ferriday; three sons, Derrick O. Williams of Ferriday, Kenney D. and Craig Williams of Battlecreek, MI; four daughters, Shantae D. Williams of Monroe, LA, Carmon Chatman of Ferriday, Cynthia and Valeria Williams of Battlecreek, MI; four brothers, the Rev. Eugene Williams of Vidalia, LA, Leroy, Otley and Archie Williams of Ferriday; 14 grandchildren; one uncle, M. L. Williams of Cincinnati, OH.

Cathrine "Lou" Thomas

May 16, 1938 - Sept. 18, 2003

VIDALIA, LA - Services for Cathrine "Lou" Thomas, 65, of Houston, TX formerly of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, in Houston, TX, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Vidalia cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Ms. Thomas was born May 16, 1938, in Vidalia, the daughter of Amelia Thomas.

Survivors include one brother, Albert Woodside of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Sandra Bailey of Houston, TX; one nephew, James Cubie, Jr. of Vidalia; two nieces, Willie A. Walker of St. Louis, MO and Dorinda Harmon of Jennings, MO.

Terry Burley

MONTEREY, LA - Services for Terry Burley, 59, of Monterey, who died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Monterey Church of Christ with Russell Crum officiating.

Burial will be in Scott cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Ferriday.

He was a resident of Monterey, a member of the Monterey Church of Christ, Vidalia Masonic Lodge, 1421 Millwrights Local, Arlington, TX and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army National Guard. He was employed at Siemens Westinghouse as craft labor supervisor in Orlando, FL.

Mr. Burley was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Edward Burley and brother, Wesley Burley.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Burley of Monterey; son, David Burley of Monterey; two daughters, Rene' Robinson of West Monroe, LA and Lori Crews of Nacogdoches, TX; his mother, Marion Frances Burley of Monterey; four brothers, Verlyn Burley, Theo Burley, Kenny Burley and Donnie Burley, all of Monterey; two sisters, Bonita Hamilton and Evelyn Smith of Monterey; he raised, Kathy Faulkner of West Monroe and Donna Holloway of Waco, TX; seven grandchildren, Amber Goldman, Kristen Goldman, Lauren Robinson, Jennifer Scoggins, Jorge "George" Gonzales, Kristian Williams and "Baby" Crews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Hamilton, Cliff Hamilton, Randy Smith, John Burley, Kevin Burley, Jamie Morace, Bob Purvis and Paul Cangemi.
