ALEXANDRIA, La. - Services for Jeannette DeLaune Drummond, 66, of Woodworth, La., who died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at St. Rita Catholic Church with the Rev. Craig Scott officiating.

Burial will be in the Alexandria Memorial Gardens under the direction of John Kramer & Son of Alexandria, La.

Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Drummond was a native of Ferriday, La. and a parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Olga DeLaune; and a son, James "Butch" Drummond Jr.

Survivors include her husband, James Drummond of Alexandria, La.; daughter, Jessica Gutierrez and husband, Wilbur, of Alexandria; son, John Drummond of Alexandria; four granddaughters, Kristyn Harris, Jennifer Drummond, Jade Drummond, and Jamie Drummond, all of Alexandria; two brothers, Dr. Gerald DeLaune Jr. of Natchez and Eugene DeLaune of Clayton, La.; and one sister, Suzanne Hill of Ferriday, La.

Prince Albert Broom Sr.

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Prince Albert Broom Sr., 73, of Ferriday, La., who died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at his residence, will be noon Wednesday at New Morning Star Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home Ferriday.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Broom was the son of the late Bradley A. Broom and Paretha Grandison Bell.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran, plumber, retired school teacher for Franklin Parish School System, retired deputy sheriff for Concordia Parish Sheriff Office, and former owner/mortician for Broom Funeral Home of Ferriday.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Emmalene C. Broom of Ferriday, La.; son, Prince A. "Pap" Broom Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Gwendolyn P. Sims of Roxie and Jarutha S. Lee of New Orleans, La.; three grandchildren, Ashley Skipper of Ferriday, Crystal Plummer of Monroe, La., and Lee Sims Jr. of Roxie.

Mickey D. Borden

Nov. 8, 1948 - Dec. 3, 2004

JONESVILLE, La. - Services for Mickey D. Borden, 56, of Jonesville, La., who died Friday, December 3, 2004, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church with Rev. Russell Hathcock officiating.

Burial will be in the Heard cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. Tuesday until service time Wednesday at the church.

Dorothy Foyil Kelly

JONESVILLE, La. - Services for Dorothy Foyil Kelly, 83, of Jonesville, who died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, in West Monroe, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Chruch with the Revs. David Carlton, Jimmy Piles and James Foster officiating.

Burial will be at Jena cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today.

"Miss Dot" was born May 18, 1921. A resident of Jonesville, she was the former owner of Jonesville Furniture CO. and a member of First United Methodist Church of Jonesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton "Jimmie" Kelly; her parents, Troy and Mac Foyil; a brother, Rudolph Foyil; and a sister, Ernestine Foyil Simmons.

Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Pierce and husband Conrad of Mobile, Ala., and Karen Fletcher and husband Ken of West Monroe; a son, James Kelly and wife Renae of Jonesville; grandchildren Jimmy and Cathi Pierce of Mobile, Judy and Kurt Coggin of Mobile, Michael and Elizabeth Pierce of Daphne, Jana and Marine Corps Sgt. Beau Miller of San Diego, Calif., U.S. Army Sgt. Jim and Julia Kelly of Illeshime, Germany, and Kelly Lee Fletcher of West Monroe; and great-grandchildren Mary Catherine and Conrad Pierce, Charles and William Coggin, Taylor and Michael Pierce and Jansen Drew Kelly.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Pierce, Michael Pierce, Kurt Coggin, Jim Kelly, Jackie Dale Taunton and Roy Schneider.

Clarissa Johnson Crockett

Dec. 24, 1927 - Nov. 28, 2004

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Clarissa Johnson Crockett, 76, of Ferriday, La., who died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at her daughter's residence in Long Beach, Calif., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Reed Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Conner officiating.

Burial will be in the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crockett was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Ferriday, the daughter of Monroe and Elsie Patty Johnson.

She was preceded by her husband, Herman Crockett Sr.; her parents; two daughters, Bobbie Williams and Cathy Crockett; and grandson, Gerald Crockett.

Survivors include a son, Herman Crockett Jr, of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Debra Collier of Ferriday, La., Dorothy Warren and Oretha Crockett of Long Beach, Calif.; brother, Monroe Johnson Jr. of Ferriday; two sisters, Ruby Johnson of Ferriday and Ella Green of Pontiac, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Joshua Clint Poole

MONTEREY, La. - Services for Joshua Clint Poole, 23, of Monterey, who died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Monterey First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Ganey officiating.

Burial will be at Rice cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Poole was a member of Monterey First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, L.J. Smalling, and his paternal grandfather, Clyde L. Poole.

Survivors include his parents, Clyde Everett and Kathy Poole of Monterey; a sister, Stephanie Harper and husband Tony of Robeline; a brother, Jason Hunter Poole of Church Point; his maternal grandmother, Shellie Smalling of Monterey; his parental grandmother, Thelma Pools of Monterey; four nieces and nephews, Everett, Aidynn and Andrew Harper; Alyssa Faulkner; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Willie Alice "Ms. Bill" Freeman

JONESVILLE, La. - Services for Willie Alice "Ms. Bill" Freeman, 89, of Jonesville, La., who died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at The Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Utility Baptist Church wit the Rev. James Foster officiating.

Burial will be at Jena cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Willie Alice "Ms. Bill" Freeman

JONESVILLE, La. - Funeral arrangements for Willie Alice "Ms. Bill" Freeman, 89, of Jonesville, La., who died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Columns Nursing Home, are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Young's Funeral Home.

Matthew C. Smithart

NEWELTON, La. - Graveside services for Matthew C. Smithhart, 27, of Vidalia, La., who died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Legion Memorial cemetery with Bro. Wayne Gray officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Ferriday.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Smithart was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smithart and grandfather, Joe Bryant.

Survivors include his mother, Juliet Smithart of Ferriday, La.; two daughters, Renee M. Smithart and Brianna N. Smith of Vidalia, La.; Fiance', Rachel L. Spence of Vidalia, La.; sister, DeeAnne Whitehead and husband, Waylon, of Natchez; maternal grandmother, Maxine Bryant of Ferriday, La.; and aunt, Jennifer Ready of Sicily Island, La.

Pallbearers will be Justin Tarver, Bra White, Jimmy Hardy, Bruce Spence, and John Reeves.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Watts Jr., Chad Carroll, Clif McGlothin, and Barry Peak.

Anna Gertrude Patrick

LAKE CHARLES, La. - Graveside services for Anna Gertrude Patrick, 91, of Lake Charles, La., who died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, in a local care center, will be 1 p.m. Friday in Evergreen cemetery in Evergreen, La. with the Rev. David Trimbur officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, La.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.mem.com.

Mrs. Patrick was a native of Addis, La. and had lived in Natchez for 32 years before moving to Lake Charles. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Natchez and was a former member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker L. Patrick.

Survivors include three daughters, Martha Hunt of Natchez, Brenda Johnson and husband, Richard, of Moss Bluff, La., and Shirley Riley and husband, Brad, of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

William H. Harp Jr.

FERRIDAY, La. - Funeral services for William H. Harp Jr., 74, of Covington, La., formerly of Monterey, La., who died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, in Covington, are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

LaDawna Kay Williams

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for LaDawna Kay Williams, 42, of LaPlace, La., formerly of Ferriday, La., who died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will be in the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home of Kenner, La.

Visitation is 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Kenner, La., and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church.

Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her father, Rev. A. F. Williams Sr. and her daughter, LaDawn'dra Williams.

Survivors include her sons, Marcus and Anarius Williams, both of LaPlace; mother, Lenette C. Williams of Ferriday; five sisters, Lisa Griggs of Ferriday, Maxine Williams of Dallas, Texas, Dinah Sparks of Kenner, La., Mamie Bruce of Natchez, and Geraldine Williams of Los Angles, Calif.; three brothers, Kitress Williams and George Chatman, both of Ferriday, and Alfrederick Williams Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; a loving and devoted friend, Larry Sewell of LaPlace; two godsisters; three godbrothers; two aunts; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Wyansie Bell

FERRIDAY, La. - Wyansie Bell, 95, of Ferriday, La., who died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, in New Orleans, La., will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Evening Star Baptist Church with the Rev. T. A. Baker Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Richardson & Sims Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

David Brandon Farmer II

VIDALIA, La. - Graveside services for infant David Brandon Farmer II, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La., were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Heard cemetery with the Rev. Danny Reed officiating.

Burial followed under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Zarius Moore

VIDALIA, La. - Funeral arrangements for infant Zarius Moore, 14 months, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, in Vidalia from injuries received from a house fire, are incomplete and will be announced later by Concordia Funeral Home.

Mary Margaret Crossley Foster

Sept. 26, 1928 - Dec. 13, 2004

JONESVILLE, La. - Services for Mary Margaret Crossley Foster, 76, of Jonesville, who died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, following a lengthy illness, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church.

Burial will follow in Wilmont, Ark. under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville, La.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Foster was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Wilmont, Ark., the daughter of the late Harry and Gennie Bell Crossley.

She was an avid hunter, fisherman, and lover of the outdoors. She is remembered for her love and support of her family, cheerful good nature, and faithful community citizenship.

She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Jean Michelle Foster.

Survivors include her husband, retired pharmacist, Lee C. Foster of Jonesville; two sons, Jeff Foster and wife, Terri, of Colliston, La. and Ken Foster and wife, Anne, of Bossier City, La.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Glen Crossley of Bastrop, La.; and sister, Edieth Crossley Doles of Monroe, La.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Dean Foster, Jeffery C. Foster, Billy Edwards, Frank Schneider, Roy Schneider, and Joseph G. Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Blunschi, Dr. W. C. Coney, Charles H. King, J. R. King, Dayton Young, Harvey Ray White, and Charles Wurster Jr.

Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Jonesville or to the donor's charity of choice.
