FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Mary Wesley Williams, 76, of Ferriday, La., who died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004 at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Shep Bethley officiating.
Burial will be in the National cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams was born Apr. 6, 1928, in Wisner, La., the daughter of James and Pecola McCullum Wesley.
She was a retired custodian for Concordia Parish School System.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Williams of Ferriday, La, ; two sons, Earl L. Williams of Alexandria, La. and Terrance (Keisha) Williams of Ferriday, La.; four daughters, Linda W. Haynes of Baton Rouge, La., Jennifer W. Hauer, Debra W. (Sammy III) Davis, and Sherry W. Morrison, all of Ferriday, La.; eight sisters, Mamie Webb, Addie Price, and Blanche Wesley, all of Monroe, La., Isabella Williams and Beatrice (Isaac) Thomas, all of Lake Charles, La., Virginia Branklyn of Lansing, Mich., Henrietta Watts and Martha Givens, both of Ferriday, La.; one brother, James (Mary) Wesley of Lake Charles, La.; seventeen grandchildren; three special children, Katie Warner, Albert Spurs, and Arthur "Bubba" Taylor, all of Ferriday, La.; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
William "Bill" Ogden
FERRIDAY, La. - Services for William "Bill" Ogden, 90, of Ferriday, La., who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La., will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Young's Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Richardson officiating.
Burial will be in the Ogden cemetery in Libbeville, La. under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.
Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Ogden was a resident of Ferriday, La.
He was a retired deputy sheriff at 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Lakeshore Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Chandler Ogden; father, Howard Ogden; mother, Lena Miller Ogden; brother, Dickie Ogden; and sister Noel Schrader.
Survivors include a daughter, Donis (Warren) Kelly of Ferriday, La.; sister, Vonicle Tew of Pensacola, Fla.; granddaughter, Deneen Graves of Hattiesburg; two great granddaughters, Cassie Shepard and Bailey Graves; and great grandson.
Pallbearers will be Concordia Parish Sheriff Department.
Verlinda Ann Banks

FERRIDAY, La. -- Services for Verlinda Ann Banks, 38, of Sylmar, Calif., who died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Olive View Medical Center in Sylmar, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Concordia Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Vidalia cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Banks was born March 15, 1966, in Los Angeles, the daughter of John Henry Bell and Erma Banks.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Patsy and Jeffery Banks Sr.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Banks of Vidalia; one sister, Rita Banks of Los Angeles; five brothers, Darryl Banks, Dack Banks, Anthony Bell, Kenneth Bell and Darryl Banks, all of Los Angeles; four aunts, Ruthie Davis of Los Angeles and Marjorie Williams, Sharon Banks and Betty Sigust, all of Vidalia; and six uncles, Ernie Banks, Jeffery Banks Jr. and Leon Banks, all of Vidalia, Franklin Banks and Renard Banks, both of Natchez, and Jessie Banks of Vicksburg.
Velma Hutson Smith
FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Velma Hutson Smith, 96, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ferriday, will be at 1 p.m. today at Young's Funeral Home with the Revs. Lyndell Day and Walter Mallard officiating.
Burial will be at Willbanks cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 18, 1907, in Gars Mill, La., the daughter of George T. Hutson and Emma Hutson. She was a member of the Bible Missionary Church. She was saved at the age of 14 and served her Lord faithfully until her death. She was a Christian example to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey T. Smith; her parents; one daughter; one granddaughter; two grandsons; two brothers; four sisters; and one half-sister.
Survivors include two sons, Meredith Smith and wife Bettye of Ferriday and Lawrence Smith and wife Vera of Ferriday; a daughter, Esther Day and husband Ed of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a son-in-law, Lamar Prisock of West Monroe; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for infant Roderick Smith, eight months, of Natchez, who died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. today at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Survivors include his father, Roger Lee Johnson Sr. of Natchez; mother, Tanya Renee Smith of La.; two brothers, Roger Lee Johnson Jr. and Roderkus T. Johnson, both of Natchez; grandparents, Nathaniel Green, Mary Lee Johnson, and Jonnie Mae Buchannan, all of Natchez; a host of other relatives.

Mrs. Adams was born March 12, 1919, in Fouls, La., the daughter of the late Lee Sr. and Amanda Walker.
She was a Baptist and a member of the Mother's Board.
Survivors include a daughter, Andrean Robbins and husband, Willie, of Flint, Mich.; three sons, Alex Adams Jr., Jimmy Adams, both of Ferriday, La., and Freddie Adams of Los Angles, Calif.; brother, Lee Walker and wife, Ola Mae, of Sacramento, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, including four special friends, Nana Graham, Jimmie Robbins, Loretha Hogan, and Thelma Beard.

Burial will be in the Vidalia cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.
Visitation is 7 p.m. today at the funeral home with ceremonies performed by the Masonic Lodge No. 106 Pride of Vidalia.
Mr. Singleton was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Woodville, the son of the late Willie and Clara Williams Singleton.
He was a supervisor for the City of Vidalia Waterworks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph Bowman and Elijah Singleton; and one sister, Lou Singleton.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gray Singleton of Vidalia; three sons, Thaddaus Singleton and wife, Kathy, Damien Singleton and wife, Ella, both of Baton Rouge, La., and Thaddaus Andre' Singleton, stationed in Iraq; two daughters, Rhonda Bell and husband, Michael, of Natchez and Katrina Singleton of Vidalia; brother, William Singleton of Ferriday, La.; sister, Gloria S. Mrs. Spencer was born Nov. 13, 1947, in Ferriday, La., the daughter of Pete and Roseana Collins Morales.
She was a teacher for the Morehouse Parish School System.
