WATERPROOF, La. - Services for Rosetta McGraw Standberry, 86, of Waterproof, La., who died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Heritage Manor Health & Rehab in Ferriday, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cypress Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof with the Rev. Roosevelt England officiating.
Burial will be in the Myrtle Grove cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Mrs. Standberry was born March 10, 1918, in Waterproof, the daughter of Welther and Effie Moore McGraw.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Standberry was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Standberry, and one son Eugene Standberry.
Survivors include four sons, Clarence Standberry of Crosby, Texas, Harold (Delores) Standberry, Ernest (Diane) Standberry, and Johnny Standberry, all of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Effie Phillips of Ferriday, Mary (Erwin) Jones; Lillie Peters, Martha S. (Rev. Willie) Hunter; Blanche Bradford, all of Houston, Texas; one brother, Nettie McGraw of Tallulah, La.; one aunt, Ella Williams of Ferriday; and a number of other relatives and friends.

PINEVILLE, La. - Service for Infant twins Natali and Katlyn Ryan was held Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville, La.
Graveside service and burial were in the Jena cemetery in Jena, La. under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville, La.
Survivors include their parents, Robbie Ryan and Kelli Kennon; maternal grandparents, Jim and Edna Reichman of Alexandria, La. and Dr. Hal and Debra Kennon of Greer, S. FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Barbara Ann Thompson, 56, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Thompson was born May 18, 1948, in Ferriday, the daughter of Richard and Monzell Brown Thompson.
She was a retired owner of Monzell Tiny Tots Daycare Center.
Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fred Brown.
Survivors include one daughter, Meisha R. Thompson of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, Richard Thompson of Baton Rouge and Jessie Thompson of Cerritos, Calif.; two sisters, Germaine Thompson and Cecelia Thompson of Ferriday; two aunts, Katie Brown and Ernestine Brown of Ferriday; one uncle, Lavada Brown of Monroe, La.; special niece, Carol Thompson of Baton Rouge; sister-in-law, Porline Brown of Ferriday; two special nephews, Cortez and John Thompson of Ferriday; and a number of other nieces, nephews and cousins.

CLAYTON, La. - Services for James C. Fleming, 60, of Detroit, Mich. formerly off Vidalia, La., who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, in Detroit, will be at noon Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Conner officiating.
Burial will follow at Vidalia cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.
Mr. Fleming was born April 8, 1944, in Vidalia, the son of Frank and Sarah Fleming.
He was employed at Chrysler Corporation for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Fleming of Detroit; one son, Shaun M. (Vickie) Fleming; two daughters, Shereece F. (Darrell) and Shonte Fleming, all of Detroit; two brothers, Frank (Gloria) Fleming of Detroit and Harry Fleming; four sisters, Mable Smith of Ferriday, Mildred (Michael) Jones of California, Mitilda (Clyde) Washington of Tennessee and Catherine Warner of Wisner, La.; mother-in-law, Willie Hill of Ferriday; two uncles, Buddy Arrington of Vidalia and Clarence Arrington of Los Angeles, Calif.; close friend and confidant, Robert Thomas; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Laurence J. West
VIDALIA, La. - Memorial services for Laurence J. West, 73, of Baton Rouge, La., who died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004 at his residence, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Vidalia Methodist Church.
Mr. West was born in Plaquemine, La.
He served in the U. S. Air Force and later began a career in broadcasting. He served as a newscaster in Shreveport, La. and then in Jackson. In his semi-retirement he was employed by Baton Rouge's BREC Park System as a marshal at its golf courses.
Survivors include two sons, Ed West of Baton Rouge, La. and Andrew West of Florida.

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Randolph Ramsey "Randy" Bradford, 55, of Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Ferriday, La., who died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 in Little Rock, Ark., will be 1:30 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday, La., with the Rev. Jamie Medina officiating.
Burial will be in the Pinegrove cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Bradford was born July 24, 1949, in Ferriday, La., the son of the late Louis A. Bradford Sr. and Billye Frances Ramsey Bradford Cox.
He was a stock broker for Dean Witter in Little Rock, Ark. He was a protestant.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He also served as general manager for L. D. Brinkman for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a son, Dustin (Laurie) Bradford of Denton, Texas; brother, Brad (Elizabeth) Bradford of Shamong, N.J.; half sister, Diane Bradford Woods of Baton Rouge, La., six half brothers, Larry Bradford of Baton Rouge, La., Martin Allen Cox of Corpus Christi, Texas, Terry Bradford Wallis of Monterey, La., Robert Prince, Jon Prince, and Rory Bradford, all of Alberta, Canada; previously married

Samuel C. Jackson
JONESVILLE, La. -- Services for Samuel C. "Red" Jackson, 84, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville with the Rev. Lloyd Trisler and the Rev. David Carlton officiating.
Burial will be at Harrisonburg cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson was a lifelong resident of Jonesville. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific campaign. He was stationed on aircraft carriers as a naval aviator during his service time. He was self-employed as a farmer for 25 years, retiring in 1978. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel J. and Mavis Wilson Jackson, and one sister, Helen Cannon.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Laverne Brown Jackson; a son, Paul Lazarus and wife Vickie of Jonesville; a sister, Audrey Beard of Monterey; a niece, Jo Englerth of Lafayette; three nephews, Robbie Cannon and wife Julie, Wayne Cannon of Isle of Palms, S.C., and Carle Englerth of Woodbridge, Va.; and two grandsons, P.D. Lazarus Jr. and Tim Lazarus of Jonesville.
Pallbearers will be P.D. Lazarus Jr., Tim Lazarus, Robert McKillips, James Aplin, Harvery Ray White, Gary King, Buddy Davis and Thomas S. Lazarus.

Josh was a loving son, vibrant, and energetic. His love for life was evident to those who called him friend. He worked in recent years as a waiter at Savoy's in Shreveport, La. and was loved by all.
