FERRIDAY, La. -- Funeral arrangements for Dorothy Arrington Richardson, 62, of Vidalia, La., who died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Marilyn Ann Dixon

LARTO, La. -- Services for Marilyn Ann Dixon, 46, who died Friday, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Larto Apostolic Church with Rev. Clay Hutto officiating.

Burial will follow at Nichols cemetery in Larto under the direction of Young's Funeral Home, Jonesville.

Visitation will be start at 4 p.m. Monday until service time at the church.

Walter Spinks

JONESVILLE, La. -- Services for Walter Spinks, who died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 at Columns Nursing Home, are incomplete with Young's Funeral Home.

Ernest M. "Sonny" Crum

May 21, 1927 - Feb. 21, 2004

FERRIDAY, La. -- Services for Ernest M. "Sonny" Crum, who died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 in Shreveport, La., will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Dennis officiating.

Burial will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Crum was a lifelong resident of Ferriday and a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a retired welding contractor and a member of the Ferriday Masonic Lodge No. 390. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Basker S. and Bessie Crum, a brother, W.L. Crum and two sisters Edna Enloe and Lois Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Crum of Ferriday; three daughters, Cynthia "Cookie" Dickerson of Shreveport, Brenda Kobb of Clermont, Fla., and Connie Wilson of Natchez; six grandchildren, Daye Walker, Ramee Dickerson, Lindsey Kobb, Rayne Wilson, Brad Wilson and Luke Wilson; two great-grandchildren, Elle Walker and Ashley Wilson; one brother, Russell Crum of Monterey, La. and two sisters, Melanie Sibley of Ferriday and Jeanie Hale of Houston, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Frank Wilson, Rayne Wilson, Luke Wilson, Jimmy Dinger, Jimmy Dickerson and Justin Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Jones, Kyler McNeely and George Comer.

Otis L. Smith

Feb. 18, 1933 - Feb. 17, 2004

VIDALIA, LA - Services for Otis L. Smith, 70, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Young's Chapel Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Shep Bethley officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Smith was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Vidalia, the son of Olivia P. Smith and George Smith Sr.

He was educated in Concordia Parish, was employed with Wilkinson County Correctional Facility and was a Baptist.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a son, Stevie Smith; two sisters, Katherine S. Mitchell and Olivia Smith; a brother, Willie D. Smith; and his father, George Smith Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalia Smith; mother, Olivia P. Smith; one daughter, Lisa Smith of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Al Robinson, Megan Smith and Armani Smith, all of Chicago; two brothers, Anderson "Mackie" (Irene) Smith of Vidalia and George (Ruby) Smith Jr. of California; four sisters, Virta (Cumcy) Hawkins of Los Angeles, CA, Joyce Smith of Gardenia, CA, Lois (Jessie) Ellis of California and Voncil Phillips of California; one god brother, Nathaniel Williams of Vidalia; five step-children and six step-grandchildren; a favorite cousin, Lewis Williams; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of the National Guards.

William James Dabbs

FERRIDAY, La. -- Services for William James Dabbs, 100, who died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, at St. Francis Hospital, Monroe, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Pine Hill cemetery with Rev. Lester Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the cemetery.

Emma Griggs York

SICILY ISLAND, La. -- Services for Emma Griggs York, 83, who died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 at Lane Memorial Nursing Home, Zachary, will be at 10 a.m. at the Charlet Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 Monday at the Old Pine Hill cemetery in Sicily Island.

Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. York was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Zeb York III; her son Cinclair H. York; grandsons, David Mac York and Wendell Simon.

Survivors include two daughters, Nell Rose Simon and her husband, Wallace, of Zachary and Louise Deloch and her husband, James, of Baton Rouge; two sons, Zeb York IV and his wife, Judy Ampe York, of Gonzales and David Charles York and wife, Crystal Jennings York, of Natchez; daughter-in-law and religious mentor Joyce York of Lakeland; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Cinclair H. Griggs of Baltimore; and special friend and loved one Bunny Sullivan of Zachary.

Pallbearers will be David Deloach, James Deloach Jr., Zeb York V, Joseph Pizzolatto, James Ray Peterson and Paul Griggs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Karl Pizzolatto, John E. Greaud and Monroe Tally.

The family extends its appreciation to the staff of Lane Memorial Nursing Home for their devoted care and love to "Our Ms. Emma."

The family requests friends make donations to a charity of their choice.

Delores M. Watson

July 2, 1941 - Feb. 18, 2004

FERRIDAY -- Services for Delores M. Watson, 62, who died Wednesday at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church on Second Street in Ferriday with the Rev. L. B. Oliver officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Watson was born on July 2, 1941 in Wisner, La., the daughter of Harrington and Ophelia Ware Watson. She was a retired Headstart bus driver and a musician for numerous churches throughout the Miss-Lou area.

Ms. Watson was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Kirkland Watson and his wife Elaine of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ronaldson Wilkerson of Ferriday; one daughter, Sontra Davenport of Ferriday; one brother, Harrington Watson and his wife Darlene of Monroe and three grandchildren.

Elijah Cowan Hardy

Nov. 7, 2003 - Feb. 17, 2004

VIDALIA, LA - Services for Elijah Cowan Hardy of Southaven, who died Monday, Feb. 17, 2004, at La Bonner Hospital in Memphis, TN, of heart failure, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Baptist Church in Vidalia, LA.

Burial will follow at Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Elijah Hardy was born Nov. 7, 2003, in Southaven, the son of Tiffani Wilkinson and James Ivan Hardy.

Survivors include his parents; half sister, Macy Hardy; grandparents, Johnny & Carolyn Wilkinson and James S. Hardy of Ferriday, and Rita Hardy of Southaven; greatgrandmothers, Faye Tannerhill and Tressie Wilson, Velettia Ola.

Services for Charles N. Flaherty, 72, of Pineville, La., formerly of Ferriday, La., who died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in Corpus Christi, Texas, are incomplete at Comer Funeral Home.

Maxine Boyd Green

Oct. 25, 1922 - May 31, 2004

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Maxine Boyd Green, 81, of Ferriday, who died Monday, May 31, 2004, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home Ferriday.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green was born Oct. 25, 1922, in Oakdale, La., the daughter of V. L. and Mary Boyd.

She was a lifelong resident of Ferriday, graduated from Ferriday High School in 1939 and earned her B.S. and Masters Degree from Louisiana State University. She was a teacher and librarian at Ferriday High School for 43 years until her retirement in 1988. Afterwards she received her certification from ULM. While at LSU, she was a member of the LSU Purple Jackets and Phi Mu Sorority. She was a member of the La. Association of Educators, a charter member of the Community Service Club and a member of the Sevier United Methodist Church. Mrs. Green was loved by many in the community and dearly loved her family and the tigers of LSU.

Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V.L. Boyd; her sister, Mary Linda Boyd; and her husband, Dr. Ben L. Green Jr.

Survivors include one son, Ben Green III of Ferriday; two daughters, Terri Boyd Green of Ferriday and Penny Tumminello and husband, Mark of Madison; granddaughter, Mary-Ella Green; grandson, Mat Tumminello; and granddaughter, Claire Tumminello.

Pallbearers will be Mark Tumminello, Mat Tumminello, Adams Thames, John E. Taylor, Ray Routon, Bubba Crothers, Charles Chauvin and Sam Hanna.

Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Ratcliff, Bob Rife, Woodie Davis, Shine House, Raymond Galloway, Theo Rabb, Bill McDonough, Steve Cockerham, Donald Otley and Jay Green.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Ben Green Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at Concordia Bank and Trust.

D'Angelo LaQwaun "Dee" Bonds

GONZALES, La. - Services for D'Angelo Laqwaun "Dee" Bonds, 31, of Gonzales, who died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Baptist Church in Gonzales with the Rev. Roosevelt McMeller officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Hambrick's Family Mortuary, Gonzales.

He had been an assistant manager of Popeye's for 10 years in Gonzales and was a native of Natchez. He was a 1991 graduate of East Ascension High School, Gonzales and attended Southern University. Mr. Bonds was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church and St. Paul Gospel Choral.

Mr. Bonds was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter Bassett Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Bonds Sr. and his step-father, Johnny Randale II.

Survivors include his grandmother, Ema L. Bassett; mother, Pamela Randale of Gonzales; father, Emerson Bonds Jr. of Seattle; three sisters, Renata Randale and Kyra and Rondaraus Cushenberry, all of Gonzales; two step-sisters, R. J. Bonds of Seattle and Shaunda Bonds of Houston; god-mother, Alice Titus; god-son, Kira Coco; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including a devoted friend, Jerome Johnson.
