Rev. Jimmie Williams

Dec. 30, 1934 - March 28, 2003

BUNKIE, La. - Services for the Rev. Jimmie Williams, 68, of St. Joseph, who died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Ford officiating.

Burial will be in the New Light Baptist Church cemetery in Bunkie under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. John Baptist Church in St. Joseph.

Rev. Williams was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Bunkie, the son of Aaron and Hester Wilkerson Williams.

He was a member of St. John Baptist Church, the PMB Association of Concordia Parish and served as pastor of Clearmount Baptist Church in Natchez, St. Reed Baptist Church in Ferriday, St. Lena Baptist Church in St. Joseph, New Hope Baptist Church and Old St. Mark Baptist Church in Waterproof and Stonewall Baptist Church in Newellton. He also served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Mercedes Matthews Williams of St. Joseph; one son, Jarvis J. Williams of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Sulithian F. Williams, Michelle Kollie and her husband, Abraham and LaDonna Strauss and her husband, Brian Sr., all of Baton Rouge; one brother, the Rev. Willie D. Williams and his wife, Margie, both of Bunkie; one sister, Sophie M. Scott of Bunkie; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, eight grandchildren and two uncles; four god-children, Thomas James of Vidalia, Sandra Davis of California, Cynthia Turner of Ferriday and Gail Conner of St. Joseph.

Funeral arrangements for Annie Bell Shields, 83, of St. Joseph, La., who died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Lakeland Medical Center in New Orleans, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements for Fred P. Brown, 55, of Ferriday, La., who died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at VA Medical Center in Shreveport, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

Zadie Hebron Paris

May 4, 1917 - March 31, 2003

EVA, La. - Services for Zadie Hebron Paris, 85, of Monterey, who died Monday, March 31, 2003, in Alexandria, will be at 2 p.m. today at Eva United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Bobby Ratcliff and Ben DeVille officiating.

Burial will follow in the Paris Family cemetery in Eva under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Paris was born May 4, 1917, in Nebo, La., the daughter of George Dunk and Mary Ellen Huffman Hebron.

She was a homemaker, a resident of Monterey for 69 years and a member of Eva United Pentecostal Church.

Mrs. Paris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Wesley Paris; three sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include three sons, Lloyd Paris and Duard Ray Paris, both of Monterey, and Donald Paris of Jonesville; one daughter, Geneva Sistrunk of Union; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Danny Tisdale, Garrett Tisdale, Matt Tisdale, Dewayne Paris, Davey Chevallier and Mark Creed.

Bernice Halford

Nov. 1, 1917 - March 28, 2003

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Bernice Halford, 85, of Ferriday, who died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Riverland Medical Center, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ferriday United Pentecostal Church with Brother Gary Howington and Johnny Carroll officiating.

Burial will follow in Cypress Grove in Dunbarton under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Halford was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Jonesville. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. Halford; a son, Derris Halford; a grandson, Larry Dale; and a great-grandson, Chris Halford.

She is survived by five daughters, Dorothy Robinson, Hilltop Lakes, Texas, Ethel Hoover, Ferriday, Iris Carroll, Winnsboro, Edith Carter, Channelview, Texas, and Jeri Briggs, Ferriday; three sons, Clifford Ray Halford, Ferriday, Michael Halford, San Diego, Calif., and Guy Halford, Ferriday; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Robinson, Jeremiah Halford, Gary Wayne Halford, Brock Avery Halford, Benny Joe Hoover and Buddy Carroll.

Honorary pallbearers are David Ola, Marion Arthur, Nick Carter and Andy Briggs.

Sandy Henderson

Jan. 16, 1953 - March 24, 2003

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Sandy "Cup" Henderson, 50, of Harvey and formerly of Ferriday, who died Monday, March 24, 2003, at his home, will be at noon Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.

Burial will follow in Ferriday cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Henderson was born Jan. 16, 1953, in Natchez, to Earnest and Annie Lee Griggs Henderson.

He was a custodian with Jefferson Parish School Board and a member of Holy Hill Baptist Church in Harvey.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Holmes Henderson, Harvey; a daughter, Sandra Thomas, Good Creek, S.C.; a son, Sherron Henderson, Harvey; parents, Earnest and Annie Lee Griggs Henderson, Ferriday; five brothers and spouses, Clarence Henderson and Denice, Gretna, Edgar Ray Henderson and Linda, Westwego, Earnest Henderson Jr., Albany, Ind., and Bobby Henderson and Harry James Henderson, both of Ferriday; four sisters and spouses, Gloria Whitley, Ferriday, Willie L. Knoten and Jesse, Westwego, Hattie Frazier and Beasley, Albany, and Mildre Castille, Harvey; a special brother-in-law, James Edwards, Chicago; three grandchildren, a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Sally Ann M. Reynolds

July 5, 1932 - March 26, 2003

LABADIEVILLE, La. - Services for Sally Ann McNamara Reynolds, who died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Gonzales, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the Price family tomb in Thibodaux under the direction of Landry's Funeral Home of Thibodaux.

Visitation and a rosary is from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Reynolds was born July 5, 1932, on Leighton Plantation is Thibodaux.

She was a long-time resident of New Orleans and Natchez and was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, New Orleans, Loyola University, New Orleans and the University of Southern Mississippi. Her teaching career included teaching at Catheral School and the Natchez Public Schools.

Mrs. Reynolds was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Dansereau McNamara and Ruby May Price McNamara.

Survivors include her husband, Philip George Reynolds; five children, Ann Elizabeth Reynolds of Baton Rouge, Susie Reynolds Millins of Mandeville, Philip George Reynolds Jr. of Rogers, Ark., Michael Henry Reynolds of Dallas and Patsy Reynolds Little of Gonzales; four grandchildren, John and Mason Reynolds of Rogers, Ark., and Molly and Carson Little of Gonzales; three brothers, Henry D. McNamara Jr. of Folsom, Abel John McNamara of Metairie and Patrick Joseph McNamara of Covington; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorials be made to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Woodholme Medical Building, 1838 Greene Tree Road, Suite 515, Baltimore, MD 21208.

Marguerite Blount Wade

Jan. 9, 1919 - March 26, 2003

WILDSVILLE, La. - Services for Marguerite Blount Wade, 84, of Wildsville, who died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, in Jonesville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Evangeline Baptist Church with the Revs. James Brown and Gary Wagner officiating.

Burial will be in Wade Family cemetery near Wildsville under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. today until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Wade was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Monterey, the daughter of Harry F. and Mattie Mae B. Blount.

She was a homemaker, a life long resident of Concordia Parish and a member of Evangeline Baptist Church in Wildsville.

Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvin B. Wade; a daughter, Joyce Wade Morace; and a son, Wayne "Sonny" Wade.

Survivors include two sons, David Wade and Jimmy Wade, both of Wildsville; two brothers, Phillip Blount and H.F. Blount, both of Monterey; two sisters, Lucy Farmer and Inis Lanehart, both of Monterey; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a friend, Ruth Dosier.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Wade, Brian Wade, Ronnie Wade, Tom Wade, Grant Phillips, Paul Cater and Mike Futrell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Evangeline Baptist Church.

Sam Earl Jr.

Aug. 2, 1944 - Dec. 6, 2002

VIDALIA, La. - Services for Sam Earl Jr., 58, who died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Bethel Church with the Rev. Troy Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in Pine Hill cemetery under the direction of West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Earl was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Natchez, the son of Mary and Sam Earl Sr.

He was retired from International Paper.

Survivors include his wife, Herman Jean Earl; three daughters, Latricia Earl of Memphis, Tenn., Sandra Earl of Natchez and Deborah Wilson of San Antonio; one son, Antwony Pere Sylvester; two stepdaughters, Linda Baker and Lorraine Woodfork, both of Natchez; three sisters, Ernestine Williams, and Ermma Lee Hunt, both of Natchez, and Julene Norton and her husband, Willie, both of Maryland; 13 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Willie Thomas, Willie Thomas Jr., Derek Washington and Lucius Washington.

Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Woodfork, Henry Russel and Christopher Williams.

Leola Deloris Lee

July 10, 1940 - Dec. 5, 2002

WATERPROOF, La. - Services for Leola Deloris Lee, 62, of Waterproof, who died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jessie Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in Loamland cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Lee was born July 10, 1940, in Waterproof, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie Jones Lee.

She was a retired cook for Natchez Community Hospital and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, where she served as assistant church secretary.

Ms. Lee was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one son, Keith Lee of Waterproof; one daughter, Gwen Lee of Ferriday; one brother, Seamon Lee of Los Angeles; three sisters, Addie Price and her husband, Raymond, both of Los Angeles, Vieta Strap of Jena and Willie M. Clark of New Orleans; two grandchildren, Keldric Lee of New Orleans and Jalisa Lee of Ferriday; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

FERRIDAY, La. - Funeral arrangements for George Williams, 47, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home.

VIDALIA, La. - Funeral arrangements for George Garland, 60, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital, are incomplete at Laird Funeral.

Ernest Lee Eddy

June 14, 1953 - March 23, 2003

HARRISONBURG, La. - Services for Ernest Lee Eddy, 49, of Harrisonburg, who died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, will be at 10 a.m. today at Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church with A.J. Kimball and Floyd Townsend officiating.

Burial will follow in Boothe cemetery in Harrisonburg under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mr. Eddy was born June 14, 1953, in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was a truck driver, a member of Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church and was in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Jefferson Eddy, and his mother, Beulah Marie Morrison Eddy.

Survivors include his wife, Roxie Eddy; two sons, Alan Eddy of Columbia, La., and Frank Peebles of Harrisonburg; three daughters, Lillie Eddy and Julie Eddy, both of West Monroe, La., and Elizabeth Eddy Irwin of Victoria, Texas; one brother, Cloyd Woodrow Eddy of New Concorde, Ohio; four sisters, Donna Marie Butler of Missouri City, Texas, Linda Kay Rominger of Lore City, Ohio, Julie Katherine Rominger of Kimbolton, Ohio, and Dianne E. Theobald of Williamstown, W.V.

Pallbearers will be Frank Peebles, Jeffery Kenneth Eddy, Robbie Irwin, Jimmy Maier, Oscar Schriber and John Lucas.

Honorary pallbearer will be William Mailer.
