FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Blanche Marie Sproles McDonald, 70, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 13, 2003, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Murray officiating.
Burial will be at South Central cemetery in Wisner under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Mrs. McDonald was born July 4, 1932, in Chase, the daughter of Luther and Etta Nations Sproles.
She was a retired registered nurse and a Baptist.
Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
She was survived by her husband, Charles McDonald of Natchez; a son, Lin McDonald and his wife, Dana, of Lake Charles; a daughter, Donnah Marie McDonald of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Verma Lee Gwin of Baskin; and four grandchildren, Tyler McDonald, Brandy Marie Gunstanson, Nicole Lynn Gunstanson, and Brandon Chase Gunstanson.
Pallbearers will be her nephews.

CLAYTON, La. - Services for Arla Hollis, 75, of Waterproof, who died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, in Ferriday, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Clayton Baptist Church with the Rev. James Mophett officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Hollis was born April 24, 1927, in Loran, the son of Robert M. and Beulah A. Hollis. He was former owner of Hollis Jewelers, a member of Clayton Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, June Partin Hollis; three sons, Ronald Hollis of Okmulgee, Okla., David L. Hollis of Waterproof and Jeffrey Hollis of Winnfield; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor Hollis of Choudrant; and four sisters, Eva Otwell and Mabel Holloway, both of Ruston, Billie Mae Mizell of Bogalusa and Mary Jane Jarman of Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Morton, Walter Beebe, Buck Andrews, Sam Canady, Wayne Knight and Chad Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Elwayne Smith, Roy D. Wagoner, Allen Hollis and Hollis Otwell.
James M. Hogg

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for James M. Hogg, 76, of Natchez, formerly of Jackson, who died Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002, in Natchez, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Comer Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Cotton officiating.
Burial will follow at Bougere cemetery near Vidalia under the direction of the funeral home.
Mr. Hogg was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Baton Rouge, the son of Roger and Mary Dellinger Hogg. He was a security guard with Guardsman Co. in Jackson and a member of Bougere Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, JoAnn Carney Hogg; his second wife, Betty JoMurrah Hogg; one son, Joe Carney Hogg; and two half-brothers, Robert Griffith and George Griffith.
Survivors include four grandchildren, JoAnn Spencer, Joe Perkins Jr., Frankie Perkins and Wesley Perkins; one brother, Arthur Griffith of Baton Rouge; and one sister, Lucille Peyton of Millbrook, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Keister Dellinger, Travis Floyd, H.L. Corley, Henry Dell Nelson, Lee Roberts and Billy Nelson Jr.
Margaret Zellner Rice

BENTLEY, La. - Graveside services for Margaret Zellner Rice, 83, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove cemetery with the Rev. Jason Woodard officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rice was born Feb. 9, 1919, in Savannah, Ga.
She was co-owner of Natchez Mattress and Furniture Co. and a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and discipleship training for many years.
Mrs. Rice was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood Rice; one sister, Edna Kelley; and one great-grandson, Eric Allen Fifield.
Survivors include one son, William O. "Bill" Rice and his wife, Martha, both of Natchez; one daughter, Angela Rice Fifield and her husband, David, both of Alliance, Neb.; four grandchildren, Kris Fifield Shafer of Lincoln, Neb., Jeff Fifield of Alliance, Michael Rice of Natchez and Jennifer Rice Ashley and her husband, Joey, both of Magee; five great-grandchildren, Cari Waybright, Michael Waybright, Irin Fifield, Jeremy Fifield and Anna-Kaitlyn Ashley; and one great-great-granchild, Gage Adamson.

George Leon Dillon Jr.

SHREVEPORT, La. - Services for George Leon Dillon Jr., 86, of Shreveport, La., and formerly of Ferriday, who died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Live Oak Retirement Center, were held Sunday, Dec. 22, at Oshorn Funeral Home. Burial followed in Natchez under the direction of the funeral home.
Mr. Dillon was born July 22, 1916, in Bogalusa, the son of George Leon Dillon Sr. and Ollie Lauderdale Dillon. He was a resident of Natchez until 1926, when his family moved to Ferriday. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army and was a Baptist. He owned and operated Dillon Machine Co. until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruth Eicher Dillon.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Nancy Ruth and Doug Miller of Shreveport and Peggy and Stan Rife of Abilene, Texas; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Marjorie Woodard of Vero Beach, Fla.; and one nephew. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Wanda Blue Haley
NATCHITOCHES, La. - Graveside services for Wanda Blue Haley, 51, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in Shreveport, will be at noon Monday at Beulah cemetery.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Visitation is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

HARRISONBURG, La. - Services for Pearle Routon King, 97, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, will be at 10 a.m. today at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. Reed Terry officiating.
Burial will be in the Harrisonburg cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Mrs. King was born Sept. 25, 1905, in Harrisonburg.
She was a cashier, a member of Harrisonburg First Baptist Church, Daughter of Confedency and Daughter of American Revolution.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Rudolph King; her father, Thomas B. Routon; her mother, Florence Routon; one daughter, Helen Milton Turner; one brother, Thomas K. Routon.
Survivors include three sons, R.A. Fairbanks of Monroe, Hugh Sonny King of Bastrop and Ronnie King of Harrisonburg; one daughter, Mary Florence Roberts of Alabama; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Bath, Donald LeJeaune, Kerney LeJeaune, Ronald LeJeaune, Tommy LeJeaune and Jimmy Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Biskamp and Jimmie Hyatt.
Henrietta Melissa Swayze Glanton

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for Henrietta Melissa Swayze Glanton, 89, formerly of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young's Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park cemetery in Natchez under the direction of the funeral home.
Mrs. Glanton was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Jonesville, the daughter of Richard Bruce Swayze Sr. and Florence Enete Swayze.
She married
Jules O. Glanton in 1937. She was the first person named Woman of the Year by the Ferriday Rotary Club. She was active in the PTA and helped plan and promote the Concordia Parish Fair. She taught Sunday school for many years at First Baptist Church of Ferriday. She was also a co-organizer of the Junior Women's club.
Mrs. Glanton, a professional seamstress, made costumes of the Louisiana State University Drama Department. She also taught sewing for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Bruce Swayze; and one sister, Vernon Beall.
Survivors include one son, Julian Swayze Glanton of Baton Rouge; two stepsisters, Katie Jean Swayze Wallace and Barbara Swayze Carter, both of Rayville, La.; and a number of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Beall, William Coleman, Billy Rucker, Albert Crothers, Mike Price, Bob Archer and Bill Archer. Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Davis, John Young, Jimmy Young and Leo Young.
Wayne H. Prince Sr.

SICILY ISLAND, La. - Services for Wayne H. Prince Sr., 67, of Sicily Island, who died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at St. Francis Cabrini in Monroe, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Roy Archer and Bobby Ratcliff officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Prince was born Nov. 19, 1935, in Natchez, the son of Wallace L. and Minnie Suzann Prince.
He was a mechanic.
Mr. Prince was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Prince; his parents; one son, Don Wallace Prince; four brothers; and six sisters.
Survivors include four sons, Arthur Ray Prince of Sicily Island, Richard Irvin Prince of Crosby, Texas, and Ronnie Gene Prince and Wayne "Jr." Prince, both of Sicily Island; one daughter, Linda Leann "Sam" Prince of Ferriday; and one brother, Ray Prince Jr. of Ferriday.
Pallbearers will be John Enright, Jeff Lofton, Frank Montano, Dalton R. Ourso, Chad Pollan, Wayne Prince Jr., Lane Ratcliff, John Swoveland and Darrell Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Ogle, Larry Ogle and Rickey Ogle.
Joel Ray Freeman Jr.
ZACHARY, La. - Services for Joel Ray Freeman Jr., 46, of St. Francisville, who died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Duson, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Charlet Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Charlet Funeral Home of Zachary.
Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
He was a native of Vidalia.
Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his father, Joel Freeman Sr.; maternal grandparents, Bill and Clydis Hendrix; paternal grandmother, Julius Freeman.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sissy and Don Alonzo of Lafayette; stepmother, Shelby Freeman of Vidalia; paternal grandmother, Clara Freeman; two sons, Justin and Tony Freeman of St. Francisville; three sisters, Pamela Curtis and her husband, Jack, both of Tupelo, Angela Muse and her husband, Rusty, both of Lafayette, and Laura Freeman of Roanoke, Va.; one brother, Larry Freeman and his wife, Sigrun, both of Tacoma, Wash.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
James Marshall Wright

FERRIDAY, La. - Services for James Marshall Wright, 78, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Randy Williams and Albert Vickers officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Grove in Manifest under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Mr. Wright was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Manifest.
He was employed with Louisiana Power and Light, was a member and church secretary of Hill Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Ferriday Masonic Lodge 305 F&AM.; He was 3rd class aviation machinist mate in the United States Navy.
Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Marie Wright; his father, Sherman R. Wright; and his mother, Annie Anita Wright.
Survivors include two daughters, Sallie Brazell and her husband, Leon, both of Jonesville, and Beverly Ann Folds and her husband, Patrick, both of Washington; two sisters, Virginia Lou Ann Chapman of Trout and Sarah Ewings of Manifest; and two brothers, Billy Wright and Russell Wright, both of Manifest.
Pallbearers will be Marshall Chapman, Kent Guinn, Kenneth Hefner, Gary Neal, Robert Neal, Charles Renfrow and Jim Wright.
