RONNIE JEAN PLUNK
WINNSBORO, LA - Services for Ronnie Jean Plunk, 50, of Winnsboro, LA will be held at 10 AM Thursday, May 17, 2001 at Boeuf River Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Kolb and Rev. Woodson McGuffee officiating. Burial will be in Ogden cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mr. Plunk died Monday, May 14, 2001 at Franklin Medical Center.
Mr. Plunk was an employee for Martin Brothers for 20 years. He served active duty in the US Army for 12 years and had two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post #3155. He was currently in the Louisiana National Guard Company A 528th Engr Bn of Winnsboro, LA.
Survivors are his wife of 25 years: Linda Plunk; daughters: Sarah and husband, Billie Massey; and Tonya Phillips, all of Winnsboro; one grandchild: Christian Dilley; sisters: Eva Britton of Snyder, TX; and Edith Wisenor of Largo, FL; brothers: Wayne Plunk of Altoona, FL; and William Plunk of Alta Bena, CA.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Johnson, Duane Long, Kelly Martin, George Warren, Mike Beach, and Mark Massey.
Visitation will be from 5 PM until 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and from 8 AM till service time at the church Thursday.

EARL W. JACKSON
Services for Earl W. Jackson, 74, longtime employee of Donnell Pipe and Supply, will be 2 PM Thursday, May 17, 2001 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverends Kenneth Mills and Riley Pippen officiating. Mr. Jackson died Monday, May 14, 2001 in Tyler, TX.
He was born September 27, 1926 to Andrew and Ethel Jackson in Wright City, TX. Mr. Jackson attended Salem Public Schools. He served our country on the USS White Plains Carrier in the Navy during WWII. Mr. Jackson came back to East Texas to work for Donnell Pipe and Supply Company where he worked until his retirement as manager in the mid 1990's. He had lived in Kilgore since 1951, was a Baptist and an independent oil producer.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife Pearl Jackson of Kilgore; three sisters, Vera Hibbets of West Monroe, LA; Audrey Calloway of West Monroe, Mozelle Odum of Kilgore; three nieces, Phyllis Winters of Lake Striker, TX, Lodema Clark of West Monroe, Shelia Robicheaux of West Monroe; two nephews, Ronnie Hibbets of West Monroe, Randell Dorsett of Marble Falls, TX; several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jess and Loys Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. 929, Kilgore, TX 75663-0929.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home Wednesday evening between 6 and 7:30 PM.

CALVIN L. WOOD
Services for Mr. Calvin L. Wood, 75, of Monroe, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2001, at New Light Baptist Church, Monroe, with Rev. Tom Tynes officiating. Burial will be in New Light Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Wood died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Theater Medal with two bronze stars, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. His daughter, Judith Dean Wood, and parents, Elton T. and Daisy Viola Wood, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Louise Telano Wood; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Neil and Diane Wood, David R. and Noel Wood, Calvin Lester and Delores Wood, and Charles E. and Sharon J. Wood; daughter and son-in-law, Angela Darlene and Steve Plag; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Elton T. and Angie Wood of Chatham, LA, Floyd M. and Ida Wood, and Eddie Lee and Betty Wood; sister and brother-in-law, Alice Faye and Byron Munn of Houston, AR; grandchildren, Matt and Lori Wood, Sherrie and Dale Wyant, Jason and Trudy Wood, Crystal and Ken Fant, Wesley and Angela Wood, Kristin Plag and Nathan Rowton, Jacob Wood, Caleb Wood, Mandy Wood, Katie Wood, Michael Semmes, and Brandi Wood; great grandchildren, Dylan, Zack, Nick, Sam, Hunter, Taylor, Haley, and Cole; 2 great granddaughters waiting arrival; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Wood, Butch Wood, Eddie Wood, Buddy Wood, Frankie Wood, and Dewey Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of New Light Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

CRESTON C. DUNN
COLUMBIA, LA - Services for Creston C. Dunn, age 107, of Columbia, LA, will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 3, 2001 in the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Elder Harry Burns, Jr. officiating. Jim Sherman will deliver the eulogy. Burial with masonic graveside rites will be in Old Union cemetery.
Mr. Dunn died Friday, June 1, 2001 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pankaj Shroff and the hospital staff for their caring treatment of Mr. Dunn during his long illness.
Mr. Dunn was born in Jackson Parish on August 13, 1893, to Sebron Gray Dunn and Rittieann May Dunn. He was a life-long resident of Louisiana and had the distinction of having lived in three centuries and two millennia.
In the early 1900's, he worked laying tracks and building bridges for some of the first railroads in the state. He was a streetcar conductor in Monroe, LA, when only the downtown streets were brick paved. He was a logging contractor for Urania Lumber Company and also worked for Louisiana Central Lumber Company in Clarks, LA before being employed as a deputy with the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Department under the late Sheriff G. E. "Buddy" Erskine. In 1964, he retired as chief deputy. After retirement, he served on the town council of Columbia and as special deputy under former Sheriff Floyd "Slim" Hodges.
Mr. Dunn was a member of Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church, Grayson, LA, and was a member of Rosemary Masonic Lodge. Having been raised a Master Mason in 1919, he served thirteen years as master of the lodge and was the oldest Mason in Louisiana.
Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his first wife, Rowena Hanchey Dunn and his second wife: Eula Blackmon Johnson Dunn, two sons, Rupert L. Dunn and Curtis M. Dunn; three granddaughters, Suzanne Dunn, Lynn Dunn Harris, and Dianna Fry and one great grandson, Spencer Fore.
Survivors are son: Monk Dunn and daughter: Myrtle Sanders of Shreveport, son: John P. Johnson of Atlanta, TX; daughter: Marilyn Fore of DeVille, LA; daughter: Nelda Linn of Dallas, TX; daughter: Kathryn Willis of Monroe; and daughters: Geraldine Sherman and Amanda Dannehl and son: Billy Dunn, all of Columbia; twenty grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Bennett, James Stuart, Bob McIlwain, Eugene Dunn, David Erskine and Sam Henry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd "Slim" Hodges, William "Hoot" Reitzel, Charles Thompson, Steve May, Wilbur Hilsted.
Visitation will be Saturday from 3 PM until 9 PM and Sunday from 9 AM until time of services at the funeral home.

EDNA A. STEWART
Edna A. Stewart, age 84, resident of Bernice, LA for the past 15 years and formerly of Homer, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at Pine Crest Health Care Center in Bernice. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Rose-Neath Chapel with Rev. Rusty Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Arlington cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
preceded in death by her husband, William E. Stewart, three sisters and one brother.
Survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Billy Ray and Cynthia Stewart of Port Lavaca, TX; two grandchildren: Sandra Reinhard and her husband Bob of Dublin, OH and David Ray Stewart and his wife, Roberta of Friendswood, TX; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

MRS. SHARON M. JOHNSON
Services for Mrs. Sharon M. Johnson (daughter of Eva Marie Morse and the late Charlie A. Morse), age 57, of West Monroe will be 2:30 PM Sunday, June 3, 2001 at Cypress Street Church of God, West Monroe with Rev. Dennis Anger and Rev. J. D. Moss officiating. Interment will be in Twin City Memorial Gardens, West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, May 31, 2001 at St. Francis Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Cypress Street Church of God. She was retired with over 20 years of service with Louisiana State Department of Hospitals as a Medicaid Eligibility Determinator. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her father, Charlie A. Morse.
Survivors include husband: Anthony P. Johnson of West Monroe; two sons: Charles Anthony Johnson and wife Monta of Tunisia, Africa, Brian S. Johnson and wife Alice of The Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren: Gabriel A. Johnson, Tomas A. Johnson, Sophie C. Johnson, Elise M. Johnson; mother: Eva Marie Morse of Monroe, LA; two sisters: Sandra Johnson of Prentiss, MS and Jewel Marie Lowery of West Monroe, LA; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dan Maples, Loyd Patton, Jeff Greer, Michael Bickford, John Johnson and Bill Johnson.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 PM until 9 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Sunday from 1:30 until service time at the church.

RAMONA DEAN FOSTER
Services for Ramona Dean Foster, 34, of Hot Springs, AR, formerly of Monroe, will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 4, 2001, in Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Billy Joe Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery.
Ramona died Thursday, May 31, 2001, in Hot Springs, AR. She graduated from Benton High School and attended ULM.
Survivors include her mother, Ricki Kepner Green of Farmerville, LA; father, Billy Foster of Bossier City, LA; brother, William C. Foster, Jr. of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Amber Michelle Foster of Bossier City, LA; and grandmother, Vivian Foster of Bossier City, LA.
Pallbearers will be Dr. A. D. Smith, Richie Brantley, Roy Jones, Max Powell, Kevin Bryant, Bobby Lefflett, and Johnny Ray Matthews.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

MRS. LOIS BEAIRD
Graveside services for Mrs. Lois Beaird, 94, will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at Spearsville cemetery with Bro. Coy Upshaw officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville.
Mrs. Beaird, a homemaker, died Monday, August 13, 2001. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruffin Beaird, son, J. R. Beaird, daughter, Bobbie Adams; and great grandson, Michael Barnes.
Survivors include daughter: Elaine Barnes of West Monroe; grandchildren: Bill and Cathy Barnes of Spearsvile; Dan and Jean Barnes of Spearsville; Chip and Kathy Harris of Monroe; Mike and Vickie Barnes of West Monroe; Scott and Sandy Beaird of Dallas; and Joy Petty, also of Dallas; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Barnes, Dan Barnes, Mike Barnes, Chad Barnes, Ben Barnes, and Chris Harris.

GEORGIA HAZEL CHRISTMAS
BASTROP, LA - Services for Georgia Hazel Christmas, 89, of Bastrop, LA will be at 2 PM Sunday, August 19, 2001 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Presto Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery in Bastrop under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Christmas died Friday, August 17, 2001 at Hickory Manor Nursing Home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church in Bastrop.
Survivors include two sons: Carroll V. Christmas and wife Syble of Bastrop; Jimmy Christmas and wife, Peggy of Bastrop; sister: Irene Stell of Hamburg, AR; two brothers: Gerald White of Hamburg, AR; and Charles White of Houston, TX; six grandchildren: Susan White, Debbie Pettis, Mary Bryan, Faye Frost, Christy Wright, and Chris Christmas; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years: Carroll A. Christmas; and a daughter: Clemmie Carolyn Christmas McCollum.
Pallbearers will be Matt Spikes, Chris Christmas, Troy Bryan; Ronald Pettis, Jack Frost, and Reggie White.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 PM until 7 PM at Goldens.
