ERNESTINE HAMMONS
Ernestine Mae Hammons, 91, widow of Henry Hammons, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born December 28, 1918 in Spencer County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Franklin Ross.
She was a retired computer tester with IBM and was a member of the Mackville Christian Church.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Jim Cooper officiating. Burial was in Crestlawn Cemetery
in Georgetown.
Pallbearers were Sandy Carey, Randy Gabhart, Andrew Miller, Charles Miller, Larry Miller, Doug Pinkston, Donnie Settles, Lanny Sutton and Ken Young.
EDDIE LAWSON
Eddie Eugene Lawson, 67, widower of Janice Peacock Lawson of Knoxville, TN died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at his residence.
Born Oct. 26, 1943, he was the son of Savannah L. Vaughn of Knoxville, TN and Colston Lawson of Corbin. He was a retired truck driver for the Hess Co., and a Protestant by faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Sally Christine Lawson McFarlane of California; a sister, Marilyn C. Lawson Gazikas of Knoxville, TN, one granddaughter and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Keith Weldon officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery
with Jesse Johnson, Lonnie Grayson, Petie Lewis, James Lee Taylor, Christopher Linton and Cody Linton serving as pallbearers.
MONTY PHILLIPS
Monty Buel Phillips, 46, Harrodsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital, Harrodsburg.
Born February 11, 1964 in Akron, OH, he was the son of the late Guy Clinton and Elettra Jean (Sims) Phillips. He was a retired Hitachi employee and a member of the Carpenters Christian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters: Sara Jean Phillips and Rebecca Clark Phillips and a son, Kyle Gregory Phillips all of Lexington; other family includes; Martina (Glenn) Devine, Tony(Sandy) Disponette and Jolene Disponette.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 27 at the Carpenter’s Christian Church by Greg Warren. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Brad Darland, Brad Smiley, Kevin Perkins, Chigger Flynn, Barry Hicks, LeMayne Ellis, Keith McQuerry and Jason Devine. Honorary bearers were: Alvis Johnson, Monday Night Men’s Group-Carpenter’s Christian, and the Burgin Men’s Fellowship.
Memorial contributions may be sent to American Diabetes. Association. Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
GARY TACKETT
Gary R. Tackett, 62, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born April 13, 1948 in Pike County, he was the son of Orbe and Marmie Roberts Tackett. He was a Baptist, a retired Blacktopper having worked for Pheonix Paving and Owen Stanley Paving.
Survivors include: one daughter, Cheri (Barry) Pike of Danville; two brothers, Arvid (Ruby) Tackett of Harrodsburg and John Holt of MN; five sisters, Marcella White of Lancaster, Joyce Hall, Jean (Jerry) Compton, Linda (Dennis) Shewmaker and Patricia Yeast, all of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Orville Tackett.
No funeral service will be conducted.

PAULINE THURMAN
Pauline Bailey Thurman, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 at her residence.
Born Dec. 29, 1922 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Allie B. and Margaret Case Bailey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Anderson Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband of 72 Years, Cecil Carl Thurman of Harrodsburg; two sons, Bobby (Sandy) Thurman of Lawrenceburg and Kelly Wayne Thurman of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Bonnie (Paul) Crouch of Lawrenceburg, Kaye Woods and Faye Price, both of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 28 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Vern Huber officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery
with Paul Crouch, Jerry Shryock, Colby Elliott, and Doug Price serving as pallbearers.

ANN WEBB
Ann Webb, 80, Harrodsburg, widow of Robert C. Webb, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at her home.
Born March 31, 1930 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jessie “Spinner” and Ruby (Roney) Alford.
She was a retired LPN from the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four nieces; Robin Claunch, Mary Jo Lewis, Gloria Pogue and Pat Moore; three nephews: Joey Webb, Greg Webb and David McDonley; and a number of great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 27 at the Spring Hill Cemetery
by John David Lane.
Pallbearers were: Lee and Marie Claunch, Amy Claunch, Brooke Lewis, Levi Lewis and Mike Lewis.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Heritage Hospice.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
MARGARET WITTE
Margaret R. “Peggy” Witte, 73, of Hustonville died Wednesday December 22, 2010.
Born April 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Margaret Williams DiFrischia.
She was a nurse, retired from Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include: three sons, Jason (Anita), John (Barbara), and Alex Witte; two brothers, Don and Joe DiFrischia; a sister, Dorothy McQuiston; and three grandchildren, Brad, Brett and Madelyn Witte.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Witte.
Services were held Friday, December 24, at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland by Bro. Steve Meece. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jason, John, Alex, Brad, and Brett Witte and Kayne Merriman.
CHRISTINE BAKER
Christine Miller Baker, 83, of Willisburg died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at her home. Born May 30, 1927, in Bullitt County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Rebecca Ann Humes Miller.
She was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church, a homemaker and retired employee of Corning Glass of Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: six sons, Edward (Becky) Baker of Nicholasville; Bill Baker of Mackville; Larry (Lorraine) Baker of Willisburg, Kenny Baker of Campbellsville; Ronnie (Thelma) Baker of Willisburg; three daughters, Barbara (Bernie) Lay of Springfield; Rose Ann (Rickey) Curtsinger ; Clara Alice Curtsinger of Willisburg, 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan Baker, three grandsons: Rickie Curtsinger, Jr., William Henry Baker, Jr. and Larry Baker; seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 30 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home with Rev. J. W. Hatfield officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery

DEBRA BOTTOM
Debra Rose “Rosie” Bottom, 49, of Harrodsburg died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born August 23, 1961, in Marion County, she was preceded in death by her father, James Robert Pittman; a son, Josh Cox; and a brother, James Robert Pittman Jr.
Survivors include: her husband, John Bottom of Harrodsburg; mother, Anna Pittman of Lebanon; two daughters, Amanda Dodson and Rosanna Bottom, both of Lebanon; a son, Robert Cox of Junction City; six sisters, Bobbie Coleman and Carol Foster, both of Florida, Kim Pittman and Jewel Applegate, both of Lebanon, Joyce Short of Georgetown and June Jones of Georgia; two brothers, Stevie and Charlie Pittman, both of Lebanon; and six grandchildren, Alexis, Austin and Ashlee Crowe, Anna and Angel Cox and Lona Goins.
The funeral service was held Sunday, January 2, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with burial in Elder Cemetery
in Casey County. The Rev. Larry Moore officiated.
Pallbearers were Stevie and Charlie Pittman, Robert Cox, Patrick Whitlock, Ray Dodson and Willie Sheperson.
Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of arrangements.
ROBERTA HISEL
Roberta “Birdie” Hisel, 85, widow of George Riley Hisel, died Mon. Jan. 3, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center. Born in Lexington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Josiah and Cordelia Burton Johnson. She was a homemaker and member of The Crossing.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Watts, Lexington; and grandchildren, Christopher (Susan) Watts, Harrodsburg and Megan Watts, Lexington.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Watts; three sisters, Christine Walton, Barbara Hisle, and Doris Fallon; and a brother, Walter Davis.
Funeral services will be today, Thursday, Jan. 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. David Redish. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Steven Walton, Steven, Brandon, Larry and Robert Peacock, and Barrett Good.
MACIE HOLT
Macie Elizabeth Brady Holt, 65, of Mitchellsburg, died Saturday January 1, 2010 in Lexington. She was the wife of Billy Joe Holt.
Born Oct. 24, 1945, in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Roach Brady.
Macie was a longtime member of Mitchellsburg Church of God and a homemaker. More than anything, Macie loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren. Spending time with them was her favorite thing to do. She also loved watching, feeding and sheltering her birds.
In addition to her husband Billy Joe, she is survived by: three children, Anita (Kevin) Wilson of Danville, Michael D. (Jolene) Holt of Harrodsburg and William “Jacky” (Kathy) Holt of Junction City; four grandchildren, Jackalinne Marie, William “Jr.” and Brandon Holt, and Michael Wilson; a great grandchild, Emily Wilson; and a sister, Alice Faye Holt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, at the Wilder funeral Home in Perryville by Rev. Larry Moore. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dougie, Stanley and Rodney Holt, Derrik and David Moore and Jackie Lamb.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Belcher, Gary Pike, David Weldon and the adult Sunday school class of Mitchellsburg Church of God.
Visiting hours will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
