WALLACE LESTER
Wallace H. “Wally” Lester, 77, of Louisville, died Monday, July 5, 2010.
He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Meadow Hill Baptist Church and the Fern Creek Masonic Lodge. He was retired from G.E.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lester; two daughters, Marta (Kenny) Boswell and Carol (Daryl) Hadley; a sister, Wilma Gaddie; a brother, Devon (Patsy) Lester, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, James and Steven Lester.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Meadow Hill Baptist Church playground fund.
MARGARET LOGUE
Margaret Ann Logue, 71, Harrodsburg, widow of Harold D. Logue, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Nov. 27, 1938 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Davis Hyte and Louise Jones Ashford. She was a Sunday School Teacher and church pianist for many years. She was a retired secretary for the Mercer County School System and a member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Terrie (Bobby) Long, and Sharon (Stanley) Shackelford, both of Harrodsburg; one son, Greg (Karen) Logue of Lincoln County; three sisters, Joe Ellen (Don) Horn, Janet (Mickey) Gilliland both of Harrodsburg and Yvonne (Steven) Fox of Shelbyville; one brother, James H. (Ann) Ashford of Harrodsburg; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 7 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with David Crowe officiating. Burial was in Bruner’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Nathan Shackelford, Jason Logue, Jesse Logue, Heather Sanders, Brittany Long, Mandy Long, Holly Moore, Kelsea Logue, Lindsay Logue, Jordan Logue, Nathan Love, Justin Love and Chris Douglas. Honorary bearers were members of the Caring Hearts Sunday School Class.

BOBBY SALLEE
Bobby Seay Sallee, 70, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
Born Aug. 19, 1939 in Cornishville, he was the son of the late William Russell and Lillie Fields Sallee. He was a retired UPS mechanic and driver and also retired from the United States Air Force, having served during Desert Storm, and also served in the U.S. Army, Army Guard, and Air Guard.
Survivors include: four sons, Timothy Seay (Laura) Sallee of Mercer County, Edward Russell (Carmen) Sallee of Bowling Green, Bradley Jay (Tina) Sallee of Harrodsburg and Brandon Scott (Leia) Sallee of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Donna Darlene Butler of Lakeland, FL, Mary Carlene (Ray) Gill of Kelseyville, CA and Brenda Kay (Greg) Chadwell of Danville; two brothers, Michael Troy Sallee of Floyds Knobs, IN and William Russell Sallee Jr. of Burgin; one sister, Pauline Richmond of Mercer County, 16 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jessie Louise Travilian.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Turner and Bro. Kenny Queener officiating. Burial with military Honors was in Cornishville Baptist Church Cemetery
with Timothy Sallee, Edward Sallee, Bradley Sallee, Brandon Sallee, Greg Chadwell, and Jesse Chadwell serving as active pallbearers. Michael Troy Sallee, William Russell, Jr., and grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.

CLARA SINGER
Clara Simpson Sharpe Singer, 92, wife of Robert C. Singer, of Lexington, died Sunday, July 4, 2010.
Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John Simpson and Louverna Meadors Sharp.
She was assistant chief operator for General Telephone where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught adult Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Woman's Missionary Union.
Besides her husband of 68 years, she is survived by: two daughters, Robin Claire (Charles) Ison, Harrodsburg and Beverly Jo (Charles) Langford, Lake Charles, LA; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a nephew and several nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Milward-Southland, Lexington, by Rev. Charles Langford and Rev. Walter Price with interment in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the Joash Chest at Immanuel Baptist Church.
JAMES SLEET
James Thomas Sleet, 68, of Cincinnati, OH formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Connie Maddox Sleet, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
A native of Mercer County, he was the son of the late James and Sarah Yates Sleet, a retired employee of OPW Company in Cincinnati and a member of First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.
Survivors other than his wife include: one son, Jamie Rashawn Sleet of Cincinnati; a daughter, Inger (Michael) Winfield of Cincinnati; one brother, Ronald White of Lexington; one sister, Yvonne Candis of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held Monday, July 5 at West Lane Park Family Center Ballpark conducted by family and friends. Sims Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
ELIZABETH TRISLER
Elizabeth Jackson Trisler, 93, Harrodsburg, widow of John C. Trisler, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Aug. 26, 1916 in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Riley Jackson and Nannie (Parmon) Jackson Markel. She was a legal secretary for Dean, Dean and Dean Law Office and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church for 70 years, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was also former director of Mercer Co. Red Cross.
Survivors include: two sons, John D.(Kay) Trisler and Larry (Mary Frances) Trisler, both of Mercer County; four sisters, Ada Ashton, Iva Swinford, Thelma Trail and Roberta Fletcher, all of OH; two brothers, Robert Markel of OH and John Markel of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; William Jackson, Jasper Jackson and Max Markel and one sister, Edith Ison.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Wayne Spivey and Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Steve Trisler, Chad Trisler, Tim Adkins, Tim Wells, Jonathan Trisler and Lee Dean.

EDWIN CARPENTER
Edwin Robert Carpenter, 94, of Harrodsburg, widower of Mabel Gray and Eva Cheatham died Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 5, 1916 he was the son of the late Bennie Robert and Lizzie Gibson Carpenter. He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church in Danville.
He is survived by one son: Bobby (Brenda) Carpenter of Harrodsburg; one step-son, Hobert (Marilyn) Cheatham of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Jean Reynolds of Perryville and Connie (George) Gibson of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Carpenter; a daughter, Barbara Carpenter Strevels; one grandson, Terry Reynolds and one brother, Hubert Carpenter.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Walters and John David Lane officiating. Burial was in the Hill Crest Cemetery
in Perryville with Brent Gibson, Chris Reynolds, Brian Carpenter, Travis Gray, Garland Frederick, Kent Reynolds, Cory Carpenter, Jacob Gibson, Greg Pelfrey, Ronnie Patton and Kenny Hensley serving as pallbearers.
JAMES COX
James W Cox, 100, died at home on Tue, June 29, 2010, after a brief illness.
He was born in Burgin, on February 7, 1910 to Guilford K. Cox and Elizabeth Waggener Cox.
He had been a resident of Panama City, FL since 1998, having previously lived in Lexington, KY, where he had retired from Kentucky Farm Bureau as a district field representative.
He is survived by: his stepson, Dr. Sam L. Combs (Laurie) of Panama City, FL; his stepdaughter, Connie D. Wilson of Lexington; grandsons Steven L. Wilson (Barbara), Nashville, TN and Jason Combs, Savannah, GA; granddaughters, Dina Wilson Brown (Greg), Irmo, SC, and Audrey Combs, Panama City, FL; sister-in-law, Caroline Cox, Bloomington, IL; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and cousin, Bill (Peggy) Waggener of Burgin.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ann Westfall Cox, sisters Mary Elizabeth Cox Holtzclaw and Jennie Alma Cox Kemp, and his brother John K. Cox.
The family will have a graveside service at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 2 p.m..
MILDRED ISHAM
Mildred B. Isham, 79, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1930 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Hartford and Hadgie B. Peavler Isham. She was former office manager for the American Red Cross of Mercer County and secretary for Davenport, Robinson and Whitenack Insurance Agency. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Pauline Votaw of Harrodsburg and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Royce Isham and a sister, Marie Best.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 11 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Wayne Spivey officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Donovan Bast, Donnie Bast, Paul Wayne Peavler, Jimmie Best, Mickey Brown and Bo Jo Brown. Honorary bearers were: C. H. Isham, Raymond, Isham, Roy Lee Isham and Robert Royalty.

REBECCA MASON
Rebecca Miller Duncan Mason, 84, widow of Charles E. Mason, died Saturday, July 10 at the Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
Born December 1, 1925 in Chaplin, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Mary Emma Jordan Duncan.
She was a housewife, a former cook for the Eli H. Brown Elementary School and the Bloomfield High School, and was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Chaplin where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include: two sons, Williams Otis Mason, Bloomfield and Charles “Butch” (Jennifer Lane, formerly of Harrodsburg) Mason, Bardstown; one daughter, Emma Francis Allaway, Troy, NY; one sister, Lillie Mae Drake, Bloomfield, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by a son, Raymond Maddox, two daughters, Virginia Gail Mason and Alberta Mason, one brother Jim Duncan, and four sisters, Irene Duncan, Frances Stone, Sue Mudd, Carrie Bishop, and Sarah Duncan.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 13, at the Campbell’s Methodist Chapel in Bloomfield by Rev. Robert Marshall. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Jordan, Dwight Mason, Charles Bishop.
Honorary bearers were Derreck Mason, Jordan Mason, Philip Allaway, Corey Mason, Labrent Maddox and Labrisson Maddox.
Sims Funeral Services in Harrodsburg was in charge of arrangements.
MARSHA MONTGOMERY
Marsha Montgomery, 61, of Harrodsburg died Monday, July 12, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 7, 1948 in Bloomington, IL, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Dennia Durr Norton. She worked in retail sales as an employee of the Ben Franklin and Wal-Mart stores.
She is survived by one son, Eric (Lisa) Montgomery of Lexington; one brother, Leslie Norton of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren three aunts and two uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Larry Sanders and Art Hembree officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery
with George Cheatham, Joe Cheatham, Jack Robertson and Jeff Robertson serving as pallbearers.

KENNETH O’CONNER
Kenneth O’Conner, 65, of Waynesburg died Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Winchester.
Born Aug. 3, 1944 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Omer and Hester Taylor O’Conner. He was a Marine Corp. veteran in the Vietnam Era. He had worked as a nurses assistant at the Kentucky State Hospital in Danville for 20 years, worked at the VA Hospital in Lexington and was a member of the John Logan Post #345 American Legion in Stanford.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kathy Davis of Winchester and Tonya O’Conner of Harrison County; a brother Omer O’Conner, Jr. of Waynesburg and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 12 at Spurlin Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold McLaren officiating. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Caswell Saufley Post #18 American Legion will be presenting military Honors.
ROY PROCTOR
Roy Lee Proctor, 49, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at home.
Born Jan. 14, 1961 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Margaret Ann (Votaw) Proctor, Harrodsburg, and the late Cleo Proctor. He was a construction worker and truck driver.
Survivors other than his mother include: one son, Roy Lee Lewis of Washington County; one brother, Hobert Proctor of Harrodsburg and his fiancee, Louise Ritchie of Frankfort.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 12 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were his cousins.
