WILLIE CLAUNCH
Willie A. Claunch, 86, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Willie Bowman and Emma (Claunch) Claunch. He was a farmer and a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Brenda Claunch of Harrodsburg; a son, Darrell (Cindy) Claunch of Burgin; a sister, Annie Pankey of Harrodsburg and one brother: Seymour Claunch of Danville; four grandchildren, seven-great -grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gaylon Claunch.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Caleb Penwell officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Cheryl and Jeff Young, Sherri and Mike Parker, Travis and Dana Claunch, Trenton Claunch and his great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 29 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
TENA CONSTANTINO
Tena Constantino, 52, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born April 15, 1957 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Catherine Murphy Stewart.
Tena was a former restaurant manager for the Huddle House, she was an artist, enjoyed traveling and loved her grandchildren.
Tena is survived by: one daughter, Katrina (Bruce) Hartman of Harrodsburg; one brother, J. B. Stewart of Nicholasville; two sisters. Donna Abney of Richmond and Helen Lewyn of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, Jaxen, Chloe and Peyton; and two special nephews, Patrick and Bryan Lewyn and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with James Tipton officiating.
EDNA LAKE
Edna Devine Lake, 98, of Mackville, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital..
Born in Washington County on Oct. 21, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John Albert and Maud Board Devine.
She was a member of the Mackville Baptist Church, was a graduate of Willisburg High School. She worked in the school system at Mackville and at Broadus Department Store in Harrodsburg and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Robbie Lynn (Richard) Puckett of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Connie Wallace (Elaine) Lake of Benton and Ricky Joe (Mary Elaine) Lake of Mt. Washington ; a sister, Mary (Carl) Isham of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Buford Devine of Louisville and Paul Devine of Sycamore, IL.; a brother-in-law, Truman Graham of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Wallace Lake and three brothers; Dalton, Maurice and Tony Devine.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 26 at the Mackville Baptist Church with Dr. R. G. Puckett, her son-in-law, and the Rev. Tim Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery
at Mackville. Serving as pallbearers were deacons of the Mackville Baptist Church.
Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
RUBY MURPHY
Ruby Wanda Mathews Murphy died Sunday, January 24, 2010. She was 75.
Born in Casey County on June 25, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Ruba and Bertha Mathews.
Survivors include: her husband, Talmadge Murphy; two daughters, Kathy (Johnny Ray) Watson and Karen (Gary) Black, both of Liberty; two sons, Jeffrey (Renita) Murphy of Liberty and Dempsey (Terri) Murphy of Harrodsburg; five sisters; a brother; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26, at the Bartle Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty. Burial was in Rich Hill Cemetery.
RUSSELL POYNTER
Russell Poynter, 75, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 17, 1934 in Plato, he was the son of the late David and Gracie (Nicely) Poynter.
He was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of the Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mazie (Reynolds) Poynter; three daughters, Carolyn (Randle) Fields of London, Barbara (David) Osborne of Mt. Vernon and Tammy (Mike) Baker of Harrodsburg; and a son, Jeff (Susan) Poynter of Harrodsburg; one sister, Velma (Keith) Norton and one brother, Walker (Bessie) Poynter both of Somerset; a daughter-in-law, Terri Poynter of Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, David Russell Poynter and two brothers, Roy and Robert Poynter.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Larry Holbrook officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Randle Fields, David Osborne, Richard Kirby, Dennis Fields, Garret Payne and Kevin Todd. Honorary bearers were: Logan Poynter, Heather Garrison, Leslie Fields, Jonathan McKinney, Gracie Arnold, Ryan Fields, Tripp Fields, Aaron Todd, Jaicey Todd and Iris Todd

JULIA ROBINSON
Julia Belle “Dolly” Jones Robinson, 81, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Daniel and Julia Belle Hockersmith Jones. She was a member of the Salvisa Christian Church and attended Lawrenceburg First Christian Church. She was former owner of D and R Sewing Center in Lawrenceburg and a housewife. She was a member of the Lawrenceburg Art League and former member of the Salvisa Homemakers. She was a 1947 graduate of Kavanaugh High School.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Randall Robinson,; a daughter, Judy (Charles) Robinson of Salvisa; three sons, Lewis E. “Eddie” (Janet) Robinson and Reggie (Peggy) Robinson, both of Lawrenceburg, and Stephen (Joann) Robinson of Harrodsburg; a sister, Gladys Satterly of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Glenn Jones of Richmond; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Randall Stephen Robinson Jr., Melvin Banner Robinson and three brothers, Garnett Jones, Sam Jones, and Charles Jones.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Derek Robinson, Barry Robinson, Tim Robinson, Kevin Robinson, Klain Robinson, Corey Robinson, Brendon Robinson and Glenn Jones Jr. Honorary bearers were Mark Jones, Hal Satterly, Philip Jones, Danny Jones, Chuck Jones, Skip Jones, and Jeffrey Jones.
VENETTA WADE
Venetta M. Wade, 85, of Harrodsburg, widow of Raymond Wade, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at her home.
Born Oct. 25, 1924 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Susie Beckham Marksbury. She was an operator for Bell South Telephone Company and a long time member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and the Ladies auxiliary of the VFW # 6935.
Survivors include three sons; Dennis (Mary June) Wade, David (Norma) Wade and Kenny (Cari Perkins) Wade, all of Harrodsburg; a sister, Mary Alice Woods of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Jo Wade; a brother, Ralph Marksbury and two sisters, Ruby and Dorine Ashford.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Jan. 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Mark Thompson and John David Lane officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Chad Wade, Julie Barnett, Amanda Lewis, Mark Wade, Timothy Wade, Bruce Wade and Angelia Swabey. Honorary Pallbearers were: Betty Russell, Melissa Darland and Heather Comdon.

LOLA BAXTER
Lola Neal Doss Baxter, 65, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at her residence.
She is survived by three daughters; Judith Ann (Tony) Bailey of Midway, JoAnn (Ricky) Walls of Versailles and Angela Hope Baxter of Lawrenceburg; a son, William Charles Baxter of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Joyce (Clayton) Dale of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Charles (Tillie) Doss, of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 1 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kevin Buntain officiating. Burial was in Alton Cemetery.

CHARLES DANIEL
Charles G. Daniel, born June 24, 1959, died at his home in Torrance, California.
He is survived by a son, Damian Danibo of Los Angeles, California and cousins Barbara Jean Humber and Jo Ann Cinnamon of Harrodsburg.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Dantibo and mother, Patricia McDonley Daniel, formerly of Harrodsburg.
PATRICIA LOONEY
Patricia Merle Reynolds Looney, 71, of Danville passed away Thursday January 28, 2010.
Born August 13, 1938 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Leslie “Butch” Merle and Mary Wanda Sheene Reynolds.
She was a retired medical assistant for Dr. Richard Jackson, Sr., a member of First Baptist Church and she loved to fish.
Survivors include: one son, Ronald “Sonny” (Susan) G. Looney, Jr. of Middlesboro, one daughter, Leslie Looney Ballard of Harrodsburg, one sister, Mona S. (Kip) Frances of Louisville, and many loving family and friends.
The funeral service was conducted Monday, February 1, at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Rev. Tim Mathis and Bro. Gary Douglas officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers were T. Steven Stewart, Jason Sloan, Craig Bell, Barry Bell, Benny Sheene, Johnny Sheene, Tommy Sheene and Mark Lister.
Honorary pallbearers were Thomas “Tinker” S. Stewart, Sr., Kenneth Finley, Chester Kavanaugh and Shawn Rice.
Memorial donations may be made to Heritage Hospice or First Baptist Church.
ZELMA MCGINNIS
Zelma S. McGinnis, 101, of Harrodsburg, widow of William “Bill” McGinnis, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Sept. 27, 1908 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Joanna (Brown) Sims. She was a retired Mercer County Elementary School teacher and was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include: one brother, Dewitt (Eva) Sims of Harrodsburg; four nieces, Lucille Hendren, Brenda Keck, Betty Sims and Gayl Perry and two nephews, Doyle Sims and Bruce Sims.
Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Mark Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers and Honorary bearers were: Bruce, Darrin, Ronnie, Donnie, and Curtis Sims, Myron, Tim and Chad Ellis, Kevin Horn, John Hawes, Kenneth Meredith, Norman White , Tim Taviner, Danny Chilton, Paul Cummins, Garland Yankey, Joe Hood, and Billy Montgomery.
