DAISY DAVENPORT
Daisy B. (Hutchins) Davenport, 92, of New Albany, IN and formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in Indiana.
Born May 19, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Mose and Amanda M. (Foley) Hutchins. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and, with her husband, conducted an outreach ministry on behalf of Graceland Baptist Church in the Clarksville, IN area. She was a hair stylist for 27 years.
She is survived by her son, Robert F. (Mikki) Davenport of Georgetown, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Davenport; her sisters, Inis Hemphill and Lillian Parsons; brothers, Everett, Frank and William Hutchins.
Services were Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in the Paul F. Kraft, Sr. Memorial Chapel at Generations Funeral Home with burial to follow in Abundant Life Cemetery
in New Albany.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Outreach Ministry at Graceland Baptist Church.
ROBERT DRAKEFORD
Robert Vance Drakeford, 62, husband of Judy Collins Drakeford, died suddenly at his home on Saturday, October 17, 2009.
He was born in Lexington, and raised in Mercer and Jessamine Counties.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vance H. Drakeford.
Additional survivors include: his mother, Rena (Don) Drakeford Warren; his children, Vance H. Drakeford, Michael (Patty) Johns, Sherrie (David) Bullock, grandchildren, Shire, Mikeh and Maxx Johns, Olivia and Elizabeth Bullock, Megan and Samantha Johnson; brothers, Woody (Delly), John (Rose) and Jerry (Sonia) Drakeford, numerous other family and friends.
He was a graduate of Jessamine County High School and was a Private in the United States Army Reserve. He was formerly a lineman at Bluegrass RECC, owner of Jim Joe’s Tire Service and Partner, Realtor and Auctioneer at Dennis King Real Estate and Auctioneers.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at the Betts & West Funeral Home in Nicholasville with Brother Dewayne Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until 1 p.m.
Bearers will be Woody, John, Jerry, Wendell and Kevin Drakeford, Michael and Maxx Johns, David Bullock and Ronnie Collins.
Honorary bearers will be Jerry Abshear, Monte Carpenter, Harold Burrus, Dennis King, Joe Scott, Chris Clark, Billy Links, Kevin Corman, J.R. Hager, William Halfhill, John Blankenship and Mickey Abshear.
EDNA FALLIS
Edna Mae Fallis, 53, of Stanford, wife of Morris E. Fallis died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at her home.
Born Sept. 13, 1956 in Lexington, she was the daughter of Wilma Blankenship Corman of Richmond and the late Gobel Corman. She was a retired truck driver and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include one daughter, Dana (Robbie) Holmes of Danville; one son, Steve (Mandy) Potter of Stanford; one sister, Tami (John) Burrows of Richmond; one brother, Mike Corman of Wilmore; two grandchildren.
Services were Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jason Coulter officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery
in Salvisa.
Pallbearers were Justin Fallis, Brian Fallis, Matt Gordon, Daniel Baker, Eddie Baker and Cody Baker. Honorary Bearers were Jeremy Jones, Jeff Hurt and Shannon Jenkins

JOHN HARD
John S. Hard, 89, widower of Marie Hard, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Mr. Hard lived formerly in Dandridge, TN and Decatur, AL.
Born in Pelzer, SC, he was the son of the late John Stewart Hard and Harriette Shewell Howard.
In 1941, Mr. Hard received his BS degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech. He served from 1941-1946 in the U.S. Navy as a Supply Officer in the U.S. Naval Air Stations in Jacksonville and Pensacola, FL, with his last rank as Lieutenant Commander in the Pacific Theatre. After attending graduate school at the University of Alabama and attaining his Masters degree in Psychology at Emory University, he was employed with American Enka Corp. and Monsanto Company in increasing levels of responsibility in labor relations and personnel management. Mr. Hard was a former member of the Civitan Club in Decatur, AL and the Masonic Lodge in Dandridge, TN. He was also a volunteer for Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, TN and Noah's Ark Animal Rescue and Adoption in Dandridge, TN.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patti E. Hard, Harrodsburg; three sons, John Stewart Hard, Berkley, CA, Dr. Robert Jarrat Hard, San Antonio, TX, and James Curtis Hard, Burlington, IA; and five grandchildren, Katherine E. Hard, Bluegrass, IA, J. Wesley Hard, Ames, IA, Matthew C. Hard, Burlington, IA, and Christopher Allen Hard and Benjamin Albert Hard, both of San Antonio, TX.
A memorial graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October. 24 at Williamston Cemetery
in Williamston, SC with Rev. John Allman officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, October 23, at Gray's Mortuary in Pelzer, SC.

JAMES JACKSON JR.
James “Tinkum” Garnett Jackson Jr., 49, of Harrodsburg died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center.
Born Aug. 29, 1960 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James Garnett Jackson Sr. and Roberta McKee Jackson. He worked as a custodian at Harlow Elementary School. He received his BA Degree in Sociology from the Kentucky State University. He was a retired social worker for the Rainbow House of the Mercer County Comprehensive Care Center. He was a member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Jackson of Louisville; two half-brothers, James Cunningham and David (Jenny) Cunningham, both of Louisville; a sister, Debra (Nick) Lynn Yeast of Harrodsburg; one grandchild, Kaylynn Jackson of Louisville; fiancé, Linda Hawkins of Harrodsburg; one niece and two nephews, all of Harrodsburg; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at the St. Philips Episcopal Church with Father Jon Hall and Elder J.D. Short, III officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Carter, Mark Wofford, Eric Wofford, Darrell Ward, Chris Short, Jim Pittman and Michael Brown. Kenny Williams served as an honorary bearer.

VENETA MILTON
Veneta Belle Milton, 81, of Harrodsburg died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at her residence.
Born April 12, 1928 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Medford and Laura Graves Milton.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, a 1946 graduate of Mackville High School and a retired employee of the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio.
Survivors include a sister, Kathryn Hall of Blanchester, Ohio; seven nieces, Donna Warner and Beverly Davis, both of Harrodsburg, Kathy (Carey) Walker of Evansville, Indiana, and Ann Riley, formerly of Springfield, Glenda (James) Wachter of Mason, Ohio, Darlene (Winfred) Kuhnell of Midland, Ohio and Missy (Bruce Keaton of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lucian Milton; and a sister, Opal McLain.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Peter Cemetery
in Mackville, with the Rev. Wayne Spivey, pastor of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, officiating.

MARY PATTON
Mary Elizabeth Banks Patton, 65, of Harrodsburg, wife of James Patton, died Thursday Oct. 15, 2009 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born Jan. 15, 1944 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Juanita (Gray) Banks Sr. She was a homemaker, a kindergarten aide at Burin Independent Schools and a member of First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Donna (Kendall) Dismeaux and Deidra Patton, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Sam Banks Jr. of Arkansas; three sisters, Sue Gooch of Stanford, Maxine Flornoy of Louisville and Marie Woodfork of Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Services were conducted Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Virgil Hill officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Crawford, Jimmy Crawford, Corey Gooch, Tony Gooch, Kendall Patton and Terry Woodfork.

GENEVA REEVES
Geneva Hill Reeves, 84, of Moreland died Sunday, October 18, 2009.
Born Oct. 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and McEdna Leonard Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer Reeves.
Survivors include: one son, Bobby (Janice) Reeves of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Betty (Bobby) Adams of Moreland; two sisters Elizabeth Hamilton and Marilyn Riggs; four grandchildren, Cami Gomez, Carla Jamamillo, Bobby Glen Adams and Tanya Reeves; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moeland by Bro. David Fralix with burial in Hustonville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday.
Memorial contributions suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
CHARLEY ROBINSON
Charley Sweeney Robinson died recently. Born Dec. 29, 1918 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Fred and Cordelia Releford Robinson.
Before retirement, Robinson had been a contractor and a farmer. He was an active member of the Burgin Baptist Church and had also been a deacon and a trustee in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church for several years. Robinson was also a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II.
Survivors include two children, Gene (Jan) Robinson of Burgin and Alene (Jonas) Barnes of Danville; six grandchildren, Brad Robinson of Burgin; Bryan Robinson of Abilene, TX; Joe Barnes of Virginia Beach, VA; Traci Easton of Murfreesboro, TN; Marina Beckley of Nicholasville; and Jackie Riley also of Burgin; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Taylor Robinson.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday Oct. 21, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Carl Mccray officiating. Burial in the Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donnie Webb, Harold Moore, Ralph McKitric Jr., Mark Noel, Roy Lee Sanders, Brad Robinson, Joe Barnes and Bryan Robinson.

CURTIS WELLS
Curtis Wells, 74, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, October 16, 2009 at his home.
He was born in Washington County to the late Erastus and Bessie Walls Wells.
He was a member of the Anderson Christian Church, Willing Workers Sunday School Class, Young at Heart, and a former trustee. He was retired from Blue Grass Energy as a warehouse manager after 23 years of service.
He is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Young Wells; one daughter, Barbara (Scottie) Peach; one son Glenn (Shannon) Wells; four grandchildren, Dusty (Amanda) Peach, Tracy (Josh) Chambers, Megan Osborne and Branden Osborne; a great granddaughter, Natalie Chambers, all of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Gertie (Evel) Satterly, Lawrenceburg, Onita (Carl) McGaughey, Frankfort; Dorothy Goins, Harrodsburg; and one brother, Cletus (Betty) Wells, Lawrenceburg.
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Sally Drury, Velma Drury, and Ruby Drury, and three brothers, Orbrey, Clinton, and Clifton Wells.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 19, at the Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Vernon Huber, Bro. Doug Simpson, and Bro. Dan Lillpop officiating. Burial followed in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Branden Osborne, Dusty Peach, Josh Chambers, Natalie Chambers, Ronnie Wells, Donald Wells, Bruce Willard, Calvin Bowen, and Mark Crutcher.

DAVID WILSON
David Wilson, 61, of Harrodsburg, husband of Carol Egbert Wilson, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Dec. 16, 1947 in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Webster and Permeila (Fletcher) Wilson. He was in the Army National Guard and maintained signals for Norfolk Southern.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Cassidy Wilson of Harrodsburg; three sons, Scott Wilson of Idaho, Alex Wilson of Louisville and Seth Wilson of Bowling Green; one sister, Rebecca Martin of Louisiana; one brother, Larry Wilson of Stanford; and one grandchild.
