ANNA TINCHER
Anna M. Tincher, 82, widow of Rex B. Tincher Sr., died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 after a long battle with emphysema.
She was the daughter of the late Eli and Nettie Durbin of Irvine. She was born in the Pryse community of Estill County, moved to Lexington, and later settled in Salvisa. She was a retired store owner and homemaker and the mother of thirteen children.
Survivors include ten children, Sandra Tincher of Richmond, VA, Debra (Shawn) Myrick of Pleasanton, KS, Kelly (Matt) Moberly of Salvisa, Tina (Rodney) Tincher of Owenton, Rex B. Tincher Jr., of Fayetteville, AR, Johnny (Maria) Tincher of London, England, Joe (Betty) Tincher of New Delhi, India, Tim (Rose) Tincher of Austin, TX, Paul (Diane) Tincher of Nagoya, Japan, and Patrick (Erica) Tincher of Salvisa; thirty-nine grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Patricia, Rebecca and Kevin Tincher.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at the Tincher Cemetery.

JAMES BROOKS
James W. “Lugger” Brooks, 78, of Stanford, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born May 20, 1931 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Luther and Cordia Marlow Brooks. He was a retired light equipment operator for KY Department of Transportation. He was a baker while he lived in Ohio. He was a KY Colonel, a founder and board member of Fellowship Pentecostal Church in Lancaster and a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann Jones Brooks of Stanford; his sons, Paul (Janet "Dee") Border of Wisconsin and James (Robin) Brooks of Harrodsburg; a son-in-law, Steve Zahn of Stanford; his sisters, Gladys Law of Richmond, Catherine Pingleton of Lancaster and Thursie Carpenter of the Herrington Lake area; and nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ellen Zahn; two brothers, Charles “Bub” and William Brooks; and five sisters, Loretta “Sis” Chasteen, Mary Thacker, Lily Mae Thomas, Ada Thacker and Nannie Brooks.
An Appreciation of Life service was Friday, Sept. 25 at Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Fox Funeral Home in Stanford was in charge of arrangements.

JUANITA CANNON
Juanita Royalty Cannon, 81, of Danville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Hospice Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty four years, Leo Leonard Cannon.
Born January 8, 1928 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Guy W. and Gertrude (Bryant) Royalty. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald F. Royalty and one sister, Joyce Yates.
She was a member of the Bethel No. 1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a devoted and beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include a son, Robert Leo Cannon and his wife, Dianne, of Richmond VA; four daughters, Sandra Inman and her husband, Marion, of Harrodsburg, KY, Rita Votaw of Harrodsburg, KY, Karen Lay and her husband John of Canton, GA, Kathy Roe and her husband Mitchell of Winchester, KY; one sister, Jane Kimsey of Louisville, KY and one brother, Dan Royalty and his wife Mary of Hanover, IN. Additional survivors include eleven grandchildren: Leslie Henderson of Reno, NV, Rob Cannon of Providence George VA, Chris Votaw, Aimee McGinnis, Leonna Lay, Eric Inman and Melissa Votaw of Harrodsburg, KY, Kate Norris and Jenna Lay of Canton, GA, Emily Brown of Lexington, KY and Allison Roe of Winchester, KY, Fifteen great-grandchildren: Erin and Zach Henderson, Ryan Cannon, Hannah, Delaney and Brody Votaw, Nathan Ross and Andrew McGinnis, Stetson Alyssa and Wyatt Inman, Michael Coffman, Colin Laya nd Jonathan Norris and several nieces and nephews.
Rev. James Byrd will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home in Harrodsburg, KY with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, in Harrodsburg with Gary Yates, Bobby Riley, Frank Royalty, Steve Royalty, Greg Kimberlin, Tom Kimsey, Terry Kimsey and Mart Utley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Rick Royalty.
Family and friends may call at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009.

WILMA CORN
Wilma Corn, 95, of Harrodsburg, widow of Bishop Corn, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Dec. 29, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey B. and Mattie Willie Norton Yates. She was a retired employee of Corning Glass Mfg. and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, were she was a former Sunday School Teacher. She was a graduate of Fairview School, where she was a member of the girls basketball team.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Sylvia Yates of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Spring Hill Cemetery
with Dr. Robert Defoor officiating.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Harrodsburg Baptist Church.

ANSEL CRASK
Ancel N. Crask, 86, of Anderson County, died Sunday, September 27, 2009 at his residence.
He was born September 5, 1923 in Anderson County son of the late Jesse Brian and Eva Dean Perry Crask.
He was a retired security guard for Rand McNally in Versailles, a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Marines and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Shelby County and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Crask is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Lucille Shouse Crask; three children, Laura F. (William Lynn) Shouse of Mt. Eden, Michael B. (Kathy) Crask of Harrodsburg, and Connie Crask of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Dan Thomas Shouse, Jason Michael Crask, and Andrew Jordan Crask; and a great grandson, Clayton Thomas Shouse.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jesse Thomas Crask, a sister, Dorothy Ruble, and two brothers, Arvin and Alvin Crask.
Funeral service was conducted Tuesday, September 29, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Roy Temple Jr. officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Casketbearers were Jason and Andrew Crask, Dan Shouse, J.B. Walls, Jr., Bill Tinsley, and Steve Young.

CHARLES DOLL
Charles S. Doll Jr., 84, husband of Carolyn Freedlund Doll, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Aug. 3, 1925 in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Charles S. and Lucy Schultz Doll Sr. He was a World War II veteran with the United States Coast Guard, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a Class of 1950 graduate of Stetson University.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, C. Stanley Doll III of Jeffersonville, IN and Timothy Joseph Doll of Louisville; two daughters, Linda (Patrick) Doll Bourne of Somerset and Patricia (Marty) Doll Zutt of Lexington; one sister, Nancy (Edward) Doll Winter of Poway, CA; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Burgin Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Tim Noel officiating.

SALLY ISHAM
Sally Estil Voorhies Isham, 93, of Battle Road, Mackville, passed away at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 at the home of her son, Jeffrey Isham.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Carey & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Preston, former minister of the Mackville Church Of Christ, officiating.
Burial was in the Battle Cemetery
at Mackville.
ESSIE JEWELL
Essie Starnes Jewell, 82, widow of William Gerald Jewell, died Thursday September 24, 2009.
Essie was born June 1, 1928 in Lincoln County to the late Thomas and Maude Martin Starnes.
Survivors include: four children, Rita Jewell of Versailles, Gerald Jewell of Wilmore, Teresa (Terry) Lowry of Harrodsburg and Jeff (Cindy) Jewell of Versailles; three grandchildren, Stevie Jewell and Tara Lowry of Harrodsburg and Josh Jewell of Versailles; two great-grandchildren, Lorn and William Jewell of Versailles; special niece Rena Cromer of Nicholasville and other family members.
Graveside services were held Monday, September 28, in Wilmore Cemetery
with Leonard Fitch officiating.
Bearers were Jeff, Stevie, Gerald, Josh and William Jewell and Tommy Bartlett.
Betts & West Funeral Home, Nicholasville, was in charge of arrangements.
DIXIE NORRIS
Dixie Arnold Norris, 69, wife of Ethbert “Sonny” Norris, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Services will be held at 1:30 Friday, Oct. 2 at The Carpenters Christian Church with Greg Warren and Ken Ward officiating.
Visitation is 5–8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 and after 9 a.m. Friday at The Carpenters Christian Church.

KEVIN PERKINS
Kevin R. Perkins, 52, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Dec. 18, 1956, he was the son of Margot Perkins of Harrodsburg and the late Smith Voris Perkins Jr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nemitz. He last worked as a Rigger for Rogers Brothers in Largo, FL.
He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Largo, FL and attended the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, LeeAnn Parson, Slade Perkins, and Seth Perkins, all of Stanford; one brother, Smith Voris Perkins III of Harrodsburg; one niece, Stephanie Bailey and one nephew, Aaron Bailey.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Melissa Lyn and Grace Ann Bailey.
Services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Mark Thompson officiating. Burial with military honors was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Smith Perkins, Slade Perkins, Ron Hungate, Brennan Sexton, Mike Dean, Terry Dean, Jimmy Gibson and David Gibson. Honorary pallbearers were LeeAnn Parson, Seth Perkins, Jack Pearson, Gary Caton, Roc Moore, Jesse Spaulding, Marvin Cocanougher, Kendall Patton and members of the Goodwill Sunday School class of Harrodsburg Christian Church.

HENRY SANDERS
Henry Thomas Sanders, 73, of Burgin, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 1, 1936 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Cabell and Lottie Riley Sanders. He was a farm worker, and had attended the Arnold Baptist Church in Lexington.
Survivors include six brothers, J.C. Sanders of Danville, Joe (Glenna) Sanders of Burgin, Roy Lee (Beverly) Sanders of Burgin, Douglas Sanders of Burgin, Roger (Vivian) Sanders of Lexington and Gilbert (Julie) Sanders of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Tina (Kenneth) Whitehouse of Danville and Kitty (Bill) Webb of Nicholasville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, G.W. and Zack Sanders; and two sisters, Wanda Pearl Sanders and Della Edwards.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse and Bro. Ralph Neal officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Sanders, Bruce Sanders, Brent Sanders, Stanley Sanders, Roy Lee Sanders Jr., Billy Sanders, Jeff Whitehouse and Jay Allen Webb.
Visitation 5–8 p.m. Wednesday and after 7 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
JAMES WILCHER
James Frank Wilcher, 94 of Gravel Switch died Sunday September 27, 2009 in Versailles. He was the widower of Nancy May Wilcher.
Born September 28, 1914, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Shelby and Minnie Southerland Wilcher.
Frank was a retired employee of R. R. Dawson Bridge Co. and a retired self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Gravel Switch United Methodist Church, a mason and an active member of the Forkland Community Center. Frank was known for his hobby of working on antique gas engines.
Survivors include: one son, Jerry Wilcher of Gravel Switch; and two sisters, Virginia Gray of Harrodsburg and Orene Gibson of Perryville.
He was preceded in death by six siblings.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 30, at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville by Rev. Ollie Wicker. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry, Steve and Jimmy Wilcher, Carroll Purdom, James Louis Hayes and Tommy May.
