MARY TRAYNOR
Mary Lee Horn Traynor, 84, of Lexington, widow of Luther Austin Traynor, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lillie Rosline Burns Horn.
She was retired from the University of Kentucky as a staff assistant and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, David (Cathey) Traynor of Lexington and Dennis (Valerie) Traynor of Jessamine County; a granddaughter, Michelle Traynor of Lexington; and two sisters, Bertie Frances Lewis of Danville and Valeria Mae Kidd of Harrodsburg.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Laura C. Devine, Alma Rosline Horn, Florence Adele Kidd and Lois Catherine Kidd and a brother, John Horn, Jr.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, June 24, at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.

ELOISE WOODS
Eloise G. "Baba" Woods, 74, of Salvisa, widow of James A. Woods, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
She was the daughter of the late Thurman and Ruth Lillian (Sanders) Goodlett. She was a former secretary for North Mercer Water District and also was a former employee of Cricketeer Manufacturing Co. and was a caregiver. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert (Teresa) Ashton and James A. Woods III, both of Salvisa; grandchildren, Andy Ashton, Suni Carol Ashton, James Logan Woods, Joshua Brent Woods; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Devine and two brothers, Truman and A. E. Goodlett.
Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 22 at the Spring Hill Cemetery
with the Rev. Joe Cooper officiating.
Pallbearers were Herbert Ashton, James A. Woods III, Andy Ashton, Suni Carol Ashton, James Logan Woods and Joshua Brent Woods.

DOROTHY HENSON
Dorothy Louise Gibson Henson, 77 of Nicholasville died Friday June 26, 2009.
Born August 28, 1931 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Rose Ann Snow Gibson.
She worked over 13 years at Palm Beach and had worked as a clerk at Drug Mart for over 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ray Henson.
She attended the Baptist Church in Nicholasville.
Survivors include: two step-sons, Henry (Jacklene) Henson and Samuel Jack Henson, both of Nicholasville; two step-daughters, Joan (Jimmy) Caudill of Richmond and Carolyn (Kenny) Stratton of Moreland; and three sisters, Kathleen Davenport of Burgin, Evelyn Davenport and Ruth Atwood, both of Lexington.
Services were conducted Monday, June 29, at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home, Moreland, by Rev. David Smith. with burial in Hustonville Cemetery.
TIMOTHY LONG
Timothy Scott Long, 42, of Kuwait City, Kuwait, husband of Chitra Long, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at his home.
Born Nov. 30, 1966 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Ronnie and Martha Brummett Long of Harrodsburg. He was a security specialist in Kuwait for CSA, Ltd., and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include a sister, Amy (Tony) Dunbar of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Brad (Tracie) Long of Louisville and Chris (Shannon) Long of Harrodsburg; a paternal grandmother, Aleen Long of Harrodsburg; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. No public services are planned.

EFFIE ROYALTY
Effie Marie Royalty, 73, widow of Alvin Royalty, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born June 29, 1936 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ada Drury Maddox. She retired from Beaumont Inn after 25 years employed as a cook and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Michael Wayne Royalty of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Glenda Lou Royalty and Patricia Ann Williams, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, James (Mildred) Maddox of Salvisa; one sister, Mary Katherine (Robert) White of Harrodsburg and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Royalty and two grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roger Pemberton, Kenneth Michael Williams, Lennie Westerfield, Bryan Drury, James Jackson, Michael Christopher Royalty, Wally Bottoms and Scottie Bottoms.
Visitation at 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1 and after 7 a.m. Thursday, July 2 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.

Ruby Cosby Spaulding, 85, of Shelbyville, widow of Johnie Spaulding, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville.
Born in Bondville in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Claude and Martha Million Cosby. She was a homemaker and member of Kirkwood Baptist Church and attended Christiansburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Johnny C. Spaulding of Shelbyville; two daughters, Debbie Spaulding of Shelbyville and Cindy Williams of Mooresville, NC; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1 at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home in Shelbyville with the Rev. Jesse Baxter officiating. Burial was in the Bagdad Cemetery
in Bagdad.
Memorials may be sent to the WHAS Crusade for Children.

ANITA BUCHANAN
Anita Kay Buchanan, 49, of Harrodsburg, wife of Cecil Buchanan, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at her home.
Born September 29, 1959 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Ann Castle Watts and Jesse Wilson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Amanda K. (John Paul) Bailey and Katie Buchanan; a son, Jonathan (Carolyn) Buchanan, all of Mercer County; her mother, Ann Castle Watts of Harrodsburg and father, Jesse Wilson of VA; two sisters, Rita (Nick) Darnell of Amelia, OH and Lodi (Nick) Lambert of Harrodsburg; one brother, Jeff (Stacy) Wilson of LaGrange and three granddaughters.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 9 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. until the service at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 9 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Derek Baker officiating.
A private committal service will be in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Nick Lambert, Tony Calvert, Fred Lewis, Edwin Riley, Nick Darnall, Darrell Ellis, Brandon Wilson, Perry Buchanan and Steve Horn
