MICHAEL BUCK
Michael "Mickey" Buck, 64, of Liberty died Wednesday March 4, 2009.
Born May 11, 1944, in Liberty, he was a son of the late Omer and Mary Ann Hayes Buck. He was retired from Ford Motor Co., an Army veteran and a member of Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Richardson Buck; two sons, William Buck and Brian Buck, both of Liberty; a daughter, Lura Smith of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Hazel Franklin, Frances Troop, Polly Whited and Minnie Lou Kidd; and four grandchildren.
Services were conducted Saturday, March 7, at the Bartle Funeral Home, Liberty.
CARL LYNN
Carl Eugene Lynn, 73, of Liberty died Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
Services were Monday, March 9, 2009 at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
ELIZA FREEMAN
Eliza V. (Wilder) Freeman, 86, of Lebanon, OH died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Cedars of Lebanon.
Born April 14, 1922 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Hattie (Wilson) Wilder and the widow of Claude "Shine" Freeman.
She was a retired postmistress from the Oregonia, Ohio Post Office.
Freeman was a 1939 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, a longtime member of the Oregonia Homemakers Club, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and enjoyed crafts and fishing.
She is survived by two children, Gerald (Janet) Freeman of Lebanon, OH and Claudia (Allen) Sussman of Silversprings, MD; a sister-in-law, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery
with services officiated by Pastor Dennis Judson.
Stine Kilburn Funeral Home in Lebanon, OH was in charge of arrangements.
JUDITH LAY
Judith Lay, 66, of Harrodsburg died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 9, 1942 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late John “Jack” W. Finnell Sr. and Mossie White Finnell.
She was a former food service worker at Beaumont Inn and Shakertown and was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Lea Anne (Pat) Sullivan of Chicago, IL and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John William Finnell Jr.
A graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11 at Spring Hill Cemetery
by Andy and Stephanie Wing and Gary Story.
Pallbearers were Jack Leonard, Lee Prather, John Mattingly, John David Sanders, Norman White and Sonny Cloyd.

DAVID MCQUERRY
David Wayne McQuerry, 58, of Mercer County, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
Born Tuesday, September 5, 1950, in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Glen and Christine Manuel McQuerry.
Throughout his life, he worked at Whirlpool/Matsushita, as well as Phillips Lighting in Danville. He also was self-employed in the lawncare and Landscaping business. David enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and traveling. He also was an avid UK basketball fan.
Survivors include: his wife, Carol Hafley McQuerry; one son, Bryon (Linda) McQuerry; one daughter, Stefanie (Jerrod) Elam; two step-sons, Steve and John Wilson; one step-daughter, Julie Murphy; seven sisters, Wanda Flynn, Mildred Purcell, Margaret Lee Huffman, Loretta Parker, Virginia Simpson, Ciddy Glenna Castle, and Boots Whitaker; two brothers, Jerry and Gordon McQuerry; nine grandchildren, Sara Wardlow, Briana Wilson, Casey Galbreath, Cheyenne Elam, Jonathon McQuerry, Daniel McQuerry, Danielle Wilson, Travis Wilson, and Zeb Murphy; and two great-grandchildren, Gracie Moody and Raelee Murphy.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Martin, Ross, and Huston McQuerry.
A celebration of life service was held Tuesday, March 10, the at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, with Bro. Junior Fields officiating. Burial was in Wilson-Fairview Cemetery.
Memorials suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research.
Pallbearers were Robert Mitchell, John K. Wilson, Stevie Wilson, Ceasar Smalley, Ronnie Tharp, Chuck Robins, Zeb Murphy and Brent “Tank” Cummins.
Honorary pallbearers were Melvin Elder, Randy “Bigfoot” Harder, his children, and his grandchildren.
VIRGINIA RICHARDS
Virginia “Vergie” Richards, 56, of 604 Story Ave., Harrodsburg died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born October 7, 1952 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Willard and Hazel Lee (Webb) Tate and wife of Larry Richards.
She was a switchboard and admissions employee at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Hedgeville Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: a son, Chad Richards of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Terri R. Marksbury of Lexington, and Carin (Dennis) R. Cocanougher of Harrodsburg; a sister, Easter Carey of Harrodsburg; a brother, Jay (Karen) Tate of Alabama; five grandchildren, Samantha Marksbury, Austin Wayne Cocanougher, Noah Joseph Cocanougher, Mason Lee Richards, and Kain Richards and a godchild, Faith Kearns.
The funeral was Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Hedgeville Baptist Church in Danville. Travis Farris and Bob Kiper officiated and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Nevius, Danny Carter, Keith Monson, Vernon Richards, C.H. Isham and Dave Petitt. Honorary bearers were Barbara Isham, Jo Ella Curtis, Sue Johnson, Kathy Nevius, Diane Carter, A. J. Clark, Diane Burton and Karen Tate.

WILLIAM ROBINSON
William Henry Robinson, 84, of 928 Mackville Road, Harrodsburg, husband of Loraine Wilham Robinson, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the VA Medical Care in Lexington.
Born June 18, 1924 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Rome and Della L. (Drury) Robinson and husband of Loraine Wilham Robinson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a retired farmer and a member of the Magnolia Street Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister, Gertrude (Linwood) Chilton of Harrodsburg; three nieces, Janice Burns, Joyce Riley and Sue Pugh; two nephews, Darrell and Dallas Waterfill; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Claude Waldridge and Caleb Penwell. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation was from 5-8 pm Wednesday at Ransdell’s

MARGARET SUTHERLAND
Margaret C. "Kay" Sutherland, 79, of Lexington, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center.
Born in Salvisa, she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Nellie Bly Stratton Coffey.
She was a retired state employee.
Survivors include: one brother, J. N. Coffey; one daughter, Kathy (John) Schweitzer; a grandson, Donald Fields; a granddaughter, Donna (Larry) Haffler; and four great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Christopher "Chris", Zachary "Zack", and Maggie.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 7, at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, by Bro. Don Frye. Entombment was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

Brenda Taylor, 55, wife of Leslie J. Taylor died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 7, 1954 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Irene Baker White and the late Cash White .
She was a personal care assistant and attended the Bohon Road Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and mother, She is survived by one daughter; Eva Francis (Jeff) Sanford of Junction City; two brothers; Robert C. (Melva) White of Harrodsburg and Tony Lee (Vickie) White of Lawrenceburg, three grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Cash White .
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Calia officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery
with Jimmy Cash White , Adam White , Earl Baker, Chad Worthington, Andrew Pulliam, Michael Hahn, Jeff Sanford and Stevie Pittman serving as pallbearers. Kassie Sanford, Jeffrey Sanford and Dustin Sanford served as honorary pallbearers.

EARL TERHUNE
Earl Terhune, 86, widower of Oneida Bailey Terhune and Sue Anderson Terhue, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born March 20, 1922 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Elbridge “EB” and Cora Whiteneck Terhune.
He was a retired supervisor of both Cricketeer and Palm Beach and during his retirement, he served as a Bluegrass Transit Driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the American Legion and Magnolia Street Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports.
Survivors include: two step- sons, Elvin Anderson of Perryville and Jimmy Anderson of Stanford; three stepdaughters: Edith Lee of Danville, Linda Myers of Illinois and Bea Beasley of Harrodsburg; six stepgrandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren and four stepgreat-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Terhune and his sister, Blanche Young.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
CHRISTOPHER TOLLIVER
Christopher Tolliver, 31, of Lawrenceburg died Thursday, March 5, 2009 in Lexington.
Born April 25, 1977 in Harlan County, he was the son of Harvey Lee Tolliver and Lillian Lewis Frederick, both of Harrodsburg. He was music director at the Lexington Children’s Theater and a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church in Harlan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Brent Frederick of Harrodsburg, a sister: Joyce (Eddie) Middleton of Lawrenceburg and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral was conducted Sunday, March 8 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Greg Warren. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Hightower, Shawn Hightower, Brian Johnson, Michael Johnson, Shayne Brakefield and Jim Caldwell.
