LAVON TRYGG
LaVon Elaine Sack Trygg, 77, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 17, 1931 in Waterloo, IA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Henry and Lucille Sack Trigg.
She was retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, OH, was a Sunday School Teacher for 35 years at Fairborn Baptist Church, Prescott Baptist Church and Peoria Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 27 at Peters Cemetery
in Mackville with Dr. Bob DeFoor officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Foundation.
Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of the arrangements.
JOYCE VINYARD
Joyce Vinyard, 70, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1938 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Vinyard and Vicie Elizabeth Griffieth Johnson.
She was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.
Survivors include: one son, James Cooley, Jr. of Harrodsburg; three daughters, Elizabeth Cooley of Harrodsburg, Debra Cooley Ellis of Hampstead, NC and Diana (James) Baker of Harrodsburg; one brother, Abe (Betty) Vinyard of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Vinyard.
The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Best officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Harris, Jesse Harris, Calvin Vinyard, Ernie Arnett, Earl Baker, Eugene Lyons and James Baker.
ANCIL WILSON
Ancil Wilson, 76, of Liberty died Saturday September 27, 2008.
Born April 17, 1932, in Casey County, he was a former restaurant manager and an Army veteran.
Survivors include: a niece, Joyce Coleman of Harrodsburg; a brother, Jesse Carlos Wilson of VA; and a sister, Lorene Vaughn of Richmond.
Services were held Tuesday, September 30, at the McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty by Clifford DeHart. Burial, with military rites, was in Springhill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
CATHERINE CARROLL
Catherine Carroll, 78, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 22, 1930 in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late James and Emma Graham Lowry and was the widow of Marvin Carroll.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: three sons, Barry Lee Estes of Indianapolis, IN, James C. Monroe of Lexington and Johnny Monroe of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Judy McGlothlin of Harrodsburg; one brother, Carl Lowry of Harrodsburg; one sister, Elizabeth Elliott of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Prather, a brother, Earl Lowry and a sister, Grace Gibson.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Hillary Claypool officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Scott Hammons, Gary Lowry, Jimmy Gibson, Jackie Hammons, Sammy Lowry, Timmy Lowry, David Gibson and Terry Camden.
ROBERT EDDINGTON
Robert Leon Eddington, Jr, 66, of Perryville, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at his residence.
Born April 8, 1942 in Sweeetwater, TN, he was the son of the late Leon and Laura Frances Lenoir Eddington and was the husband of Carolyn Simpson Eddington of Etowa, TN.
He served four terms as a United States Army Sergeant in the Vietname War and was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Rita Eddington of Texas and Mary Eddington of Paris; two sisters, Edna Mae Green of Paris and Doris Eddington of Perryville; one grandchild, four nephews, three nieces, eighteen great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Eddington.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at the Camp Nelson Cemetery
with Rev. James Byrd officiating.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Green, David Barkley, Quallan Barkley, Oren Barkley, Robert James and Donald James.
Visitation will be from 9 – 10 a.m. Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
W. ALLEN GREEN
W. Allen Green, 82, died Monday, Oct. 6 at his home.
Born May 10, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles R. Green and Dorothy Staley Green.
He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean conflict. He was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church, retired after 38 years of service with Southern Bell and had been a member of Telephone Pioneers and Toastmasters International.
Survivors include: three sons, T. A. (Marybeth) Green of Harrodsburg, Steve (Ann) Green of King, NC and Rick (Lynnette) Green of Advance, NC; one daughter, Cheryl G. Cottingham; one brother, Hubert S. Green of Apopka FL; one sister, Irma Gustafson of Toano, VA; one brother, Fred McNeil of East Machias, MN and nine grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Maurice, a sister, Jonsie and a son-in-law, Denny B. Cottingham.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC.
Visitation will be from 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Parkway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of The Central Kentucky Christian School in Harrodsburg.
HARRY SHERROW
Harry Ballard Sherrow, 66, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Dec. 21, 1941 in Columbia, he was the son of Katheryn Minter Sherrow of Harrodsburg and the late Harry Campbell Sherrow and was the husband of Kathleen Hammonds Sherrow.
He was a lawn maintenance employee of Shawnee Farm and a retired IBM employee. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended Tennessee Technical College.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: three daughters, Elaine (David) Henderson of Combine, TX, Lisa (Alvin) Hayes of Mt. Vernon and Carla Sherrow of Sparta, TN; two step-daughters, Angela (Dustin) Cole of Harrodsburg and Shannon (Jeff) Davidson of Hebron; one brother, Hogan (Lynn) Sherrow of Rogue River, OR; one sister, Ruth (Jimmy) Keller of Bohon; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Suzzane.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with Curtis Sherrow officiating.

RUTH TIREY
Ruth Tirey, 84, of Hamilton, OH passed away at Wellington Manor on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 2:25 PM.
She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on October 29, 1923 the daughter of Samuel and Lucinda Caudell Wilson.
On May 17, 1946 in Winchester, Kentucky she married Lester Tirey, who served as pastor of Shawnee Run Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church, and he preceded her in death in 1975. Ruth was a member of the Pater Avenue Free Pentecostal Church of God.
She is survived by two children; Lester (Barbara) Tirey Jr. of Miamisburg and Helen Marie (Dennis) Matheny of Hamilton; one sister, Mae Brandenburg of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Tirey, Charles Tirey, Robert Tirey, Dallas (Jessie) Matheny and Deana McNally; eight great-grandchildren, Michael and George Tirey, Sarah, Rebekah, and Mariah Bruns, and Joshua, Amanda, and Dalton Matheny.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Hobert and Carl Wilson.
Funeral service will be held at the Pater Avenue Free Pentecostal Church of God, 1321 Pater Avenue, on Tuesday, October 7, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Willard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Monday after 5 p.m. and until time of service on Tuesday.

HENRY WATTS
Henry P. Watts, 83, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 15, 1925 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Marcus M. and Verna Preston Watts and was the .
He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol (Dale) Peavler of Lawrenceburg and Connie Gifford of Frankfort; two sons, Mark (Robin) Watts of Harrodsburg and Henry (Misty) Watts, Jr. of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Wilma (Bill) Robinson of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Watts and two sisters, Bertha DeShazer and Clara Mae Puckett.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with John David Lane and Rick McKinney officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers were Henry Watts, Jr., Mark Watts, James Watts, Dale Peavler, Buddy Watts and David Cummins.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Robinson, Joe Adams, Ezra Hopper, John and David DeShazer and Loraine Ross.
FRANK BANE JR.
Frank Crockett Bane Jr., 69, of Richmond died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 26, 1939 in Richmond, IN, he was the son of the late Frank C. and Lois Hughes Bane.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a 1957 Graduate of Greens Fork Indiana High School.
Survivors include: one daughter, Tina K. Bane of Richmond; four sisters, Janice Moyer of Fayette County, IN, Marilyn Love and Pamela Reisert of Richmond, IN and Shirley Lorenz of Eaton, OH; one brother, Ralph Bane of Middletown, OH; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hughes.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 15 at the Dayton National Cemetery
in Dayton, OH.
LINDA BERRYMAN
Linda Lou Broce Berryman, 64, of Versailles, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at her residence.
Born Nov. 8, 1943 in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Broce.
She was a LPN, employed at Harrodsburg Health Care Manor and was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Ricky (Teressa) Gilliam of Wilmore and Scott (Stephanie) Gilliam of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Melissa (Julie) Gilliam of Versailles and Heather (Gary) King of Harrodsburg and three sisters, Pricilla Blacketer of Harrodsburg, Wanda Bullock of Stanford and Theulah Sutton of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gene Lowery Patterson Jr. and one brother, Carlos Broce.
The funeral was held Oct. 11, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rick McClung and Dean Strong officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Stratton, Phillip Creech, Tommy Fuson, Robert Florain, Carlos Broce Jr., John Broce, Steven Broce and Lynn Marcum.
