FRANKLIN BROWN
Franklin D. Brown, 74, of Burgin, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 31, 1933 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late James David and Bessie Marie Brummett Brown and was the husband of Barbara Landers Brown.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired self-employed plumber having owned Mercer Plumbing and Heating for twenty years, was a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church and was a member of the Burgin Fire Department.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Carol (Mike) Hough of Mercer County; one son, Gary (Teresa) Brown of Burgin; one brother, Leslie (Doris) Brown of Danville; one granddaughter; one step grandson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Adams and three brothers, Paul, George and Elmer Brown.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. James Byrd officiating. Burial with military Honors was in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Burgin Fire Department.

MARY DRURY
Mary Tensie Hoskins Drury, 93, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at her home.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Addie Drury Hoskins and was the widow of Thomas Lee Drury.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Fairview Christian Church and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.
Survivors include: four daughters, Marlene “Patsy” Peach and Freida Geri (Steve) Douglas, both of Lawrenceburg, Glenda Rose (Dempsey) Crigger of Chicago, IL and Betty Jean (Junior) Haydon of Springfield; two sons, Ronald (Doris) Drury and Marcus (Emma) Drury, both of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Velma Darnell of Lawrenceburg, Faye Stratton of Harrodsburg and Nellon (Stewart) Catlett of Louisville; two bothers, Garland (Corine) Hoskins of Harrodsburg and Clellan Hoskins of Lawrenceburg; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mareda Ann Drury, five grandchildren, onegreat grandchild, a sister and two brothers.
The funeral was held Monday, July 28, 2008 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Grant Mathes and Bro. Jaime Chesser officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stevan Tracy Douglas, Maurice Alan Haydon, Michael Keith Haydon, Ricky Lynn Drury, Stewart Drury, Johnnie Clark Peach and Dennis Reed Peach.

ANNA DUNN
Anna Lou Reffett Dunn, 87, of Georgetown, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born June 30, 1921 in Bourbon County, she was the daughter of the late William James and Susan Catherine Fryman Reffett and was the widow of Josephus Dunn.
She was a member of Boyers Chapel and attended Northside Christian Church.
Survivors include: two sons, James Edward (Anita) Dunn, of Harrodsburg and Gary Keith (Pamela) Dunn of Georgetown; one sister, Pearlie Franklin; two brothers, James (Mary) and Howard (Ruth) Reffett, both of Cynthiana; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Hutchinson and a step granddaughter, Shea Welch.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Johnson’s Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Reffett officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jamie and Danny Dunn, Mike Franklin, James Hutchinson, Gayle Osborne and Donald Jones.
Honorary pallbearer will be Charles Reffett.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International or to the charity of one’s choice.
CARA DUVALL
Cara Frances Duvall, 82, of Crab Orchard, died Monday, July 21, 2008 in Lancaster.
Born March 9, 1926 in Whitley City, she was the daughter of Van Buren Duvall and Nannie Ota Morton Duvall.
She was a member of the Pleasant Rock Baptist Church and worked in the Health Care Industry and as a cook in restaurants.
Survivors include: four daughters, Anna Baker of Crab Orchard, Margaret Hall of Harrodsburg, Vivian Vickers of Crab Orchard and Rebecca Reed, of Somerset; one brother, Johnny Duvall of Stearns; one sister, Wilma Corder, of Whitley City; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Morton Byrge, a daughter, Phyllis Freda Jones, two brothers, Tommy and Morton Duvall, two sisters, Maxine Griffis Reynolds and Molly Duvall, a grandchild, Samuel Jones and a great grandchild, Brandy Estes.
The funeral was held Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home in Whitley City with Bro. Lenville Maxwell officiating. Burial was in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in London.
LINDA HOLTZCLAW
Linda L. Grimes Holtzclaw, 62, of Danville, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 4, 1946, in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Chesley and Margie Fowler Grimes.
She was employed at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center as a billing specialist and was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. She previously worked for Matthews Conveyor and was a member of the Xi Alpha Rho Sorority.
Survivors include: one son, Chris Holtzclaw of Farwell, TX; one daughter, Melinda Holtzclaw of Danville; one sister, Norma (John) Brock of Harrodsburg; her ex-husband, Bill Holtzclaw and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Stephens.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John and Mark Brock, Lee Phillips, Chris Curry and Drew Reynolds.

THOMAS HUFFMAN
Thomas Danny Huffman, 63, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 28, 1945 in Little Rock, AR, he was the son of the late Jody E. and Juanita Williams Huffman and was the husband of Myrgle DeShazer Huffman.
He was a Modine factory worker and attended the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Mercer Masonic Lodge # 777 F & AM.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Thomas Danny Huffman, Jr. and Fred C. Huffman, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Florence Sue Huffman of Lexington; one brother, Joel E. Huffman of Harrodsburg and three grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 29 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with David Crowe officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Huffman, Thomas Danny Huffman, Jr., John Huffman, Charles Carpenter, Wayne Boyd and David Peavler.

PATRICIA JACKSON
Patricia Lynn Jackson, 61, Harrodsburg, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at her home.
Born July 10, 1947 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Opal Bottoms Settles and was the wife of Walter Jackson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Mechelle R. Jackson and Lesa B. Jackson; two step sons, Wayne T. Jackson and Danny Jackson; three sisters, Betty Moore, Linda Proctor and Faye Akins, all of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Randall Settles and Michael Settles of Mercer County and Gary B. Settles of Boyle County and three step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby, Glenn and Terry Settles and a sister, Beatrice Whitenack.
A graveside service was held Sunday, July 27 at the Spring Hill Cemetery
with Rev. James Harley officiating.

WILLIAM MOORE
William Thomas Moore, 65, of Gravel Switch, died Friday, July 25, 2008 in Casey County.
Born Oct. 10, 1942 in Mercer County, he was the son of Jane Moss Yankey of Perryville and the late Condit B. Moore and was the husband of Garner JoAnn Lanham Moore.
He was employed at Trim Masters, was retired from the Boyle County Board of Education, was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Perryville Baptist Church, member of the Kentucky Walking Horse Association, a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association, a member of the American Legion Battlefield Post and was a former high school basketball official.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: one daughter, Kim Hays of Gravel Switch and two grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, July 29 at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Jim Bratcher officiating. Burial was in the Lebanon National Cemetery
with full military rites by the Marion County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were members of the Marion County Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Goode, Ray Cooper, Jimmy Berry, Harvey Bottoms, Tharen Stevens, Skipper Lanham, Lynn and Keith Moss and Dr. David George.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
ALBERT PICKETT
Albert Ray “Bud” Pickett, 87, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 17, 1921 in Jessamine County, he was the son of the late Albert R. and Elizabeth Frederick Pickett and was the husband of Mary H. Pickett.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a retired Regional Supervisor with Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife, a farmer and member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two brothers, Lloyd Pickett, Sr. of Harrodsburg and Carl B. Pickett of Tucson, AZ; special friend, Ann F. Evans of Harrodsburg and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise O’Connell and Betty Jean Shearer.
The funeral was held Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Strange officiating. Burial with military Honors was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lloyd Pickett, Jr., Allen Pickett, Bill Pickett, Eli Miller, Bobby Grider and Roger Vineyard.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. William Scott Van Meter and Chester Elkin.
ROBERT QUINN
Robert Lee Quinn, Jr., 52, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday July 27, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 13, 1956 in Wilmore, he was the son of Stella Stagner Quinn of Harrodsburg and the late Robert Lee Quinn, Sr.
He was a former employee of Coleman’s Lumber and was a Baptist.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: one son, Travis Quinn of Danville; one sister, Janet (Danny) Lister of Harrodsburg; two brothers, J. W. Quinn of Harrodsburg and Cecil Quinn of Florida and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
LETITIA RUE
Letitia M. Rue, 82, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 22, 1926 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian Bonta Mitchell and was the wife of Leslie Rue.
She was a homemaker and partner in the Rue Insurance Agency and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Tish (Bruce) Rudd of Cadiz and Jane (Andy) Rice of Danville; three grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Mitchell.
The funeral was held Saturday, July 26 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Tish Rudd officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bruce Rudd Jr., Billy Hargis Jr., Todd Hargis, Charles Lewis, Ronnie Miller and Art Baker.
