DANNY GIBSON
Walter Daniel “Danny” Gibson, 59, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 5, 1948 in Danville, he was the son of Mary Frances Phillips Gibson of Liberty and the late Earl Gibson and was the husband of Peggy Jane Thornton Gibson.
He had served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Benton Baptist Church. He was an employee of Mercer Construction & also a self employed carpenter.
In addition to his mother and wife, survivors include; one daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Lynn Hulbert of Harrodsburg; one sister, Judy Roy of Casey County; one brother, Earl Kenneth Gibson of Cincinnati, OH, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teressa Carol Gibson.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 17 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Tim Gray and Bobby Slagle officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery
with military rites.

June 17, 2008.
Those attending were Curtis and Earl Sherrow, Tom Rappleye, Joe Harlow, Floyd Shirley, Lucian Landers, James Tewmey, James Stinnett, Howard H. Howells II and Howard H. Howells Sr.
Zenah Teater III served as bugler.
Army representatives from Fort Knox were Sgt. Ronn Meyer and SPC Elvia Ayala.
JESSE HOGUE
Jesse Herbert Hogue, 79, of Danville died Friday, June 13, 2008.
Born June 26, 1928 in Danville, he was the son of Charles Arie and Laura Jane Goode Hogue and was the husband of Carol Dodero Hogue.
He was a retired Forest Ranger with the Kentucky Division of Forestry and a member of First Baptist Church. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy as a seaman, First Class.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Mark Lane (Velma) Hogue of Moreland and Daniel Ray Hogue of Junction City; four step-daughters, Deborah (Charles) Butler of Harrodsburg, Pamela (Sam) Hannah of Churchville, NY, Bonnie (Fred) Davidson of Culpeper, VA. and Kimberlee (Steven) Owens of Danville; one sister, Ruby Fisher of Leander, TX; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, 21 step grandchildren and 32 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Morrison Hogue and a brother, Sherman Hogue.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 17 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Dale Denton officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matthew Hogue, Mark Lane Hogue Jr., Robert Toadvine, Shawn Naughton, James Goldman Hogue, Karl Luttrell, Paul Douglas and Clinton Owens.
Honorary pallbearers were Jessica Hogue. Crystal Strevels, and Joshua Owens.
KATHERINE JACKSON
Katherine D. Jackson, 93, of Waterworks Road, Danville, died Wednesday June 11, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Oct. 4, 1914, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Janie Johnson Divine.
She was an officer for Citizens Bank, a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church and an avid bridge player. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary and a volunteer for the gift shop for many years at Ephraim McDowell Hospital. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy W. (William) Swain of Louisville, Julie Weissinger Benedict of Danville, and Marjorie Jackson (Tony) Morrell of Brush Prairie, WA; a son, Dr. Richard (Judy) Jackson of Danville; a brother, R. C. Divine of Washurn, WI; six grandchildren, Charles E. Swain, W. Smith (Martha) Swain, Kelli B. (Tom) Price, Timothy (Jennifer) Morrell, Joy (Joel) Futrell and Rebecca (Greg) Spain; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, James John Weissinger and Dr. Richard G. Jackson Sr.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Dick Sullivan as celebrant. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Germann, John Bolton, Michael Hoskins, David Pendergraft, and Gerald Kelsey.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Stith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Jude's Hospital.
KRISTINA JONES
Kristina Kay Jones, 56, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 20, 1951 in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late George Irvin and Jan Rose Wells Jones.
She was a former Script-Howard employee.
Survivors include: one brother, George Irvin Jones Jr. of Harrodsburg,; two nephews, Kipp C. and Jason Jones and one niece, Shelley Jones.
She was preceded in death by her step mother, Helen Patterson Jones.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 20 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
HARRY MCGUFFEY
Harry Carter McGuffey, 85, of Young Harris, GA, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Chatuge Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA.
Born Jan. 13, 1923 in Stanford, he was the son of the late Jesse and Martha Harp McGuffey and was the widower of Frances Marie Edwards McGuffey.
He served during World War II in the Marine Corps, was a retired Chevron employee and a member of Southern Baptist Churches in Huntingburg, IN and Florence where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mendy M. Roebuck of Young Harris, GA; one son, Michael McGuffey of Jasper, IN; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 18 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
NANCY ROYALTY
Nancy Ruth Royalty, 83, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Christian Care Center in Lancaster.
Born Aug. 4, 1924 in Adair County, she was the daughter of the late Baruch and Mollie Morris Royse and was the widow of George W. Royalty.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Burgin Baptist Church, the Pioneer Homemakers and was a volunteer at the Christian Life Center for several years.
Survivors include: three daughters, Judith R. Royalty and Anne Royalty, both of Burgin and Ginger (Rusty) Williams of South Port, NC; one son, George (Laura) Royalty, Jr. of Harrodsburg; one brother, James Royse of Columbia; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral was held Saturday, June 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Carl McCray and Ernest Martin officiating.

KATHRYN SIMPSON
Kathryn Ward Simpson, 94, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Chelsea, MI.
Born Nov. 5, 1913 in Lakewood, OH, she was the daughter of Howard C. and Carrie Chamberlain Ward and was the widow of John P. Simpson.
She was an active member of Harrodsburg Methodist Church and served as president of Church Women United.
Survivors include: one son, Ned J. (Katherine) Simpson of Ann Arbor, MI; one daughter, Dr. Laura K. Bosworth (Monty Schultz) of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Howard C. Ward, Jr. of Schenectady, NY; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, June 15 at East Shore United Methodist Church, 23002 Lake Shore Blvd. Euclid, OH 44123.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Shore United Methodist Church scholarship fund.
ERNEST YEAST
Ernest T. Yeast, 89, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his residence.
Born June 22, 1918 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Mattie Hendron and Tom Yeast and was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Wiley Yeast
He was a retired self-employed Auto Body Technician and a member of Cornishville Christian Church in Mercer County.
Survivors include: one brother, Shirley (Louise) Yeast of Mercer County; two sisters, Annel Ross of Harrodsburg and Artie Ross of Anderson County and one granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Yeast of Lawrenceburg,
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Alan Wayne Yeast, a daughter, Susan Lawrence, a sister, Hadgie Ross and a brother, Marshall Yeast.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kieran Peyton, Jarrod Girtley, Kerry Prather, James Brown, Donald Lowery and Harlan Huff.
Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
EUGENE BEVINS
Eugene Bevins, 70, husband of Mary Bevins, died Sunday June 22, 2008 in Lexington.
He was born April 8, 1938 in Ewing, KY.
He was a Marine Corps veteran. He worked in environmental construction, and was a member of the Moose Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his wife he is survived by: four sons, Allen Richards of Georgetown, Dennis Richards of Harrodsburg, Tony Eugene Bevins and Wayne Bevins both of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Karen Collins of Lexington and Marsha Bevins of OH; one brother, Johnny Bevins of Maysville; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday June 26, at the Tucker, Yocum, & Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown with Glenn Redmon officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery
in Stamping Ground.
Casket bearers will be Donnie Myers, Shane Walker, Chuck Collins, Michael Wiley, Jorge Quiroz and Jeff Mudd.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
JONATHAN CREWS
Jonathan David Crews, 26, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, June 20, 2008.
Born April 24, 1982 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Bart and Tammie Jo Holt Moore of Waynesburg.
He was an employee of Horn Construction Company and a member of the Church of God.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one son, Ethan Alexander Miller; one brother, Todd Crews; two half sisters; five half brothers; maternal grandmother, Zetta Lanham and paternal grandparents, John and Betty Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents David and Geneva Travillian.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 24, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Ernest Fields Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Holt Cemetery
in Parksville.
