ALFRED D’AMBROSIO
Alfred “Sergeant D” D’Ambrosio, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.
Born Aug. 31, 1928 in North Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Valentino and Jennie Desimone D’Ambrosio and was the widower of Ella Hall D’Ambrosio.
He was a Retired National Guard Recruiter serving Mercer, Anderson and Franklin Counties, had served in the United States Army, Air Force and Navy and was of the Catholic Faith. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include: two sons, Joseph D’Ambrosio of Harrodsburg and John D’Ambrosio of New Jersey; one step-daughter, Julia Clark Harrod of Frankfort; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Ursini D’Ambrosio of New Haven, CT and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alphonse Vincent and two sisters, Mary and Carmella.
A memorial service will be held 7p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 at the National Guard Armory.

BUTCH DAVIS
Russell “Butch” Davis, 63, of Junction City, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at his residence.
Born Thursday, Oct. 19, 1944 in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Russell Marion Davis Sr. and Irene Yocum Davis Kerby.
He was a professional roller skater.
Survivors include his life companion, Etta B. Irvin of Junction City; one daughter, Jeannie Rebecca (Dalton) Hurst of Harrodsburg; a stepfather, Dave Kerby of Danville; one sister, Mary Ellen (Charlese) Rhodus of Hillsboro, OH; two grandsons and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dolly Davis, June Rhodes and Betty Warren.
Services were held Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Burial was in the Junction City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Wilson, Floyd Harden, Wayne Wagner, Clinton Paget, Deaman Ray and Rex Rhodus.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice.
MARLENE HAGGARD
Marlene Adington Haggard, 66 years, 10 months, 2 days, of Waynesburg passed away Sunday, February 10th, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford.
Born Wednesday, April 9, 1941 in Lincoln Co., she was the daughter of the late Lonnie & Gertrude Taylor Adington, a homemaker and a member of the Grace Fellowship Church.
Survivors include: her husband of fifty three years, Donald Haggard of Waynesburg; a son, Steve (Diane) Haggard of Waynesburg; three daughters, Pam (Larry) Gabhart of Harrodsburg, Donna (Sonny) Spoonamore of Stanford, Teresa “Cricket” (Scott) Carrier of Waynesburg; two sisters, Margie Wilhelm of Cincinnati, OH and Marcelene Stevens of Eubank. Other survivors include grandchildren, Stephanie Haggard, Kim McRay, Chad Terrell, Amy Isaacs, Street Spoonamore, Tinsley Spoonamore, Nikki Hunt, Dustin Carrier, Ashley Carrier, Makayla Carrier, Austin Carrier, Mackenzie Carrier, Jason Gabhart; great-granchildren Nathan McRay, Noah McRay, Paisley Gabhart, Makayla Gabhart, Savanna Gabhart, Gabby Gabriel, Luke Isaacs, Jansen Durham, Kaitlyn Hunt, Garrett Carrier and Kirstin Lawless; and also by a special friend, Jan Whitis.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Darvin, Clinton, Bobby and Leo Adington.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, February 12, at the Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Waynesburg, with Bro. Vola Brown officiating. Burial was in Highland Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tim Whitis, Austin Carrier, Dustin Carrier, Chad Terrell, Street Spoonamore and Jackie Haggard.
Honorary Pallbearers were Jay Smith, Keith McRay and Scott Isaacs.
CHARLES HAMBLIN
Charles William Hamblin, 81, died Feb. 4, 2008 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
He was the widower of Mary Josephine Parks Hamblin.
Survivors include: one son, Steve (Terri) Hamblin of Danville; one daughter, Elaine (Lonnie) Harris of Moreland; one sister, Audria Mae Roaden of Corbin; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Hamblin and a grandson, Jason Alan Hamblin.
The funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at Stith Funeral Home with Rev. William Hensley and Rev. Dale Denton officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Great American Brass Band Festival.
Stith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
HOLLIS ISHAM
Major (R) Hollis DeWayne “Wayne” Isham, 50, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 in Lexington.
Born April 8, 1957 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of C.H. and Barbara Jane Parson Isham and was the husband of Anjam Malik.
He was a retired Major for the US Army and assistant professor of military science at Morehead State University where he was named military Science Instructor of the Year and a member of the Eller’s Memorial Baptist Church. He had a very distinguished military career, from Platoon leader at Ft. Riley, KS; Theater Intelligence Watch Officer/Strategic Analyst at Camp Smith, HI; Brigade Intel Officer, Company Commander and Battalion Operations Officer at Ft. Ord, CA; Combat Support Branch Chief and military Intelligence Systems Manager in Alexandria, VA; multiple positions with the Defense Intelligence Agency and Pentagon.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include one aunt, Peggy Lewis of Harrodsburg; three uncles, Bobby Parson, Ramond Isham and Robert Lee Isham; two great aunts, Arthalina Leonard and Lora Mae Yankey and several cousins.
The funeral was held Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Harrodsburg Christian Church with Travis Farris and Mark Thompson officiating. Burial with military honors was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were members of the ROTC.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Matherly, Ernie Sapp, Ralph Rogers Jr., William David Rogers, Jimmy Baxter, Danny Yates, Gill Spahn, Lonnie Campbell, Lucinda Leonard and Deidra Patton,

MARY JONES
Mary Hazel Jones, 67, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1940 in Sylva, NC, she was the daughter of the late Don and Mary Mathis Henry and was the widow of J. H. Jones.
She was a former employee of Ensley’s Rest Home in Sylva, NC.
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Williams of Lancaster, SC and Peggy England of Buford, GA and one son, Jerry (Bobbette) Jones of Harrodsburg.
The funeral was held in Sylva, NC. Local arrangements by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
RUTH JONES
Ruth Elizabeth Jones, 57, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Aug. 15, 1950 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Mary Willis Young of Harrodsburg and the late Cassius Sanders and was the widow of Lucien E. Jones.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Greater Life Apostolic Church.
In addition to her mother, Survivors include: three daughters, Margueritta Jones, Jessica Jones and Linda Jones, all of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Arthenia Douglas of Louisville, Tonya Young of Lexington, Francine Jones of Harrodsburg and Aquila Young of Harrodsburg and six brothers, Jeremiah Young of Versailles, Emmanuel Young of Danville, Mel Young of Danville, Arthur William Allen of Harrodsburg, Bill Allen of Harrodsburg and Bobby Charles Allen of California.
The funeral was held Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at the Greater Life Apostolic Church with Bro. Randy Myers officiating. Burial was in Maple Gove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Manuel Young, Jeremiah Young, Bill Allen, Bentley Jones, Arthur Allen, Curtis Majors, Mel Young, and William Bartleson.
NONA MOBLEY
Nona Baker Mobley, 85, of Rockford, IL, died Sunday, January 27, 2008.
Born March 7, 1922 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Lonie and Mary Young Baker and was the widow of Willard Mobley.
Survivors include: two daughters, Janet (Bill) Goodnite of Kirkland, IL and June Watson of Rockford, IL; one sister, Alma Coslow of Willisburg; three brothers, Ruel (Doris) Baker of Lexington, Harvey (Nancy) Baker of Lawrenceburg and Maurice (Joyce) Baker of Tuscon, AR; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Baker of Harrodsburg.
The funeral was held Feb. 1, 2008 in Rockford, IL.
GROVER MULLINS
Grover Mullins, 57 of Richmond, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died Sunday February 10, 2008 at his home.
He was born on June 29, 1950 in Livingston, the son of the late John and Goldie Settles Mullins.
He had been a farmer and a employee of the Parks and Recreation for the City of Richmond. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the New Hope Holiness Church.
Survivors are: two sons, Jesse Mullins of Mt. Vernon and James Mullins of Richmond; two step sons, Leroy Monk Jr. of Mt. Vernon and Richard Harris of Berea, one daughter, Lisa Parms of Mt. Vernon; one brother, John Mullins Jr. of Hamilton, OH; five sisters, Marie Drew of Milford, OH, Barbara Lovell and Midge Lovell both of Mt. Vernon, Gayle Mullins of Richmond, and Karen Moore of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren; and his former wives; Elsie Gertrude Cox Mullins of Mt. Vernon and Janette Myers Mullins of Richmond.
He was preceded in death by one sister; Joann Medley.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, at the New Holiness Church. Burial was in the Jordan Family Cemetery
at Cartersville, Garrard County.

JOE PERKINS
Joe Allen Perkins, 71, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at his home in Harrodsburg.
Born March 16, 1936 in Louisville, he was the son of the late John A. and Alene Tichenor Perkins and was the husband of Sue Miller Perkins.
He was an Army Captain, serving during the Berlin Crisis for the 100th Division, retired as manager from Kentucky Utilities, was a member of the Solomon Lodge #5, Shelbyville, the Scottish Rite, Oleika Shrine, served as past president of the Harrodsburg Rotary Club, Harrodsburg Chamber of Commerce and Jaycees, was a Paul Harris Fellow, a board member for the Industrial Authority and Bluegrass Area Development, was active in the Boy Scouts, a 4H leader, co-founder of Pioneer Days and earned the Harrods Company Award.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son: Kevin (Ann Margret) Perkins of Harrodsburg; one daughter-in-law, Cari Perkins of Harrodsburg; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, John Perkins.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor, Phil Williams and Mark Thompson officiating. Burial, with military Rites, was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Alex Perkins, Kenny Wade, Marion Souder, Phil Williams, Roger Miller, David Miller, Joe Stevens and John Preston Perkins.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Ingram, Don Wilson, Cecil McGee, Monty Phillips, LeMayne Ellis, Alvis Johnson, Jim McGlone, Don Hayslett, Tebbs Moore, N.B. “Pollie” Stratton, Charlie Johnston, Charles “Whitie” Simpson, Lou Kerrick and David Noel.
