FAYRENE RUSSELL
Fayrene L. Russell, 68, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Aug. 30, 1939 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Berdena Vandivier Logue and was the widow of Alfred Lee Russell.
She was a retired clerk/manager, a member of the Ellers Memorial Church and attended the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Gary Kent (Gloria) Russell of Harrodsburg, two brothers, Kermit (Barbara) Logue and J. W. (Jo Ann) Logue both of Harrodsburg and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joni Dale & Jamie Sue Russell and a grandchild, Amanda Paige Russell.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Ron Sharp officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Clayton Russell, Jimmy Mattingly, Chris Hardin, Billy Lanham, Casey Lawson, Curry Logue, Jerad Carrier and Anthony Carrier.
Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Logue, Jack Logue, Brent Logue and Jay Walters.
MARGARET SHEPHERD
Margaret Divine Shepherd, 81, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.
Born Aug. 7, 1926 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Grace Norvell Divine and was the wife of Dewey Shepherd.
She attended Perryville School, was the former owner of Webb Ky Food Stores and was a former clerk at Walter S. Frankel in Mitchellsburg and Danville.
She was a member of Burgin Baptist Church, a 46 year member of The Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter, Connie (Jerry) Shepherd of Harrodsburg; one brother, Danny Divine of Perryville; two sisters, Cleo Watts of Upper Marlboro, MD and Mae Selby of Versailles; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Webb and two sisters, Aileen Murphy and Ruth Crain.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at Hill Crest Cemetery
in Perryville.
Pallbearers will be Steve Templeton, Sonny Jarman and Tab Shepherd.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Parkinson Disease Association Inc., 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
BRUCE TAYLOR
Bruce Taylor, 80, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born April 27, 1927 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Bertie R. and Pearl (Drury) Taylor and was the widower of Louise Davis Taylor.
He was a carpenter and a member of the Cornishville Christian Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Danny (Lynn) Taylor and Barry (Luanne) Taylor of Harrodsburg; one brother, Billy Taylor of Harrodsburg; two half brothers, Billy Carroll Taylor and Steve Taylor; two half sisters, Rita Durr and Connie Bivins all of Harrodsburg and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charlie, Owen & Buford Taylor.
The funeral was held Friday, Nov. 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Claude Waldridge officiating. Burial was in the Grapevine Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jordan Taylor, Todd Taylor, Travis Taylor, Steven Taylor, Clay Murphy and Chuck Taylor.

EUNICE TYLER
Eunice E. Tyler, 89, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 8, 1918 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Price and Mary Catherine Elliott and was the widow of Shelby B. Tyler.
She was a retired American Greetings Customer Service Representative and a member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was also a former 4-H Leader and Modern Woodmen Junior Leader and member of the Rose Hill Homemakers Club.
Survivors include: one son, Shelby (Jeanetta) “Toby” Tyler of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, Shelby Keith Tyler, Kelly Tyler and Kevin Tyler; five great grandchildren and a special friend, Donna Eaves.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Clellan, Virgil, and Edwin Elliott, and a sister, Genevieve Elliott.
The funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Don Reed officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Extended Care or Gideon Memorial Bibles.
JUDY WAINSCOTT
Judy Smith Wainscott, 56, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
She was the daughter of the late Richard B. and Kathryn Edwards Smith. She was born February 22, 1951 in Birmingham, AL.
She was a LPN with St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, and enjoyed flea markets, fishing, playing cards, cooking and singing.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tony Wainscott of Lawrenceburg; a son, Tony (Patty)Wainscott, Jr. of Shelby County; three daughters, Michelle Wainscott of Fort Worth, TX, Kim (Wayne) Bowman of Anderson County, and Christie Watkins of Mercer County; four grandchildren, Jessie Wainscott of Shelby Co., Tyler, Chase and Owen Watkins, all of Mercer County; a sister, Donna (Sanford) Brewer of Louisville; two brothers, Richard Linda) Smith of Emporia, KS, and Darrell Smith of Danville.
Funeral service was held Sunday, November 4, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

BONNIE WATTERSON
Bonnie Jean Sims Watterson, 67, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007.
Born Aug. 26, 1940 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Mildred Drury and the late Edwin Sims.
In addition to her mother, survivors include: one son, Kent (Sheila) Pikey; one brother, Bobby (Mary) Drury; four grandchildren; one nephew and one niece.
During her career, she worked in the management of resort locales, Four Season Lodge, Lake of the Ozarks, and Chase Park Plaza. She was also the office manager of the Fayette County Bar Association and worked in the County Attorney’s Office.
A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a contribution be made to the charity of one’s choice.
BILLY BARNETT
Billy Gene Barnett, 80, died Saturday Nov. 10, 2007, at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg.
Born Oct. 19, 1927, in Stone County, MO, he was the son of the late Austin and Cecil (Penny) Barnett.
He was co-owner of Harrodsburg Music Store and member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Fleming of Marshfield, WI; one son, Gary Barnett of Metamora, IL and one sister, Naomi Cooney of Missouri.
The funeral was held 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with visitation at 5 p.m..
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
MARGARET BROWN
Margaret McFatridge Haynes Brown, 90, widow of Fred Alton Haynes, and a retired machinist with IBM, died Tues., Nov. 13, 2007.
Born in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Buford and Ethel Leonard McFatridge.
She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia (George) Stipp, Lexington and Harriet Finn, Riverview, FL; one brother, Douglas Dean, Cincinnati, OH; one sister Sarah Smith, Vinegrove; her aunt, Grace Leonard, Danville; grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Brewer, Lexington, Fred (Dana) Stipp, Mt. Sterling, Joseph Finn and Jerry Finn, both of Lexington, and Jill (Howard) Edwards, Sevierville, TN; great-grandchildren, Katrinka (Donnie) McPherson, Brian Stipp, Tyler and Darby Stipp, and Jonathan, Shawn, Wade and Holly Edwards; great-great-grandchildren, Jordan, Austin, Tristan and Katelyn McPherson and Ishmael Stipp; and her special friend, Jewett Sorrell.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Sue Haynes, and grandson, Phillip Stipp.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 16, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Lexington.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway, Lexington.

SEAN CLAUNCH
Sean Claunch, 23, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 in Harrodsburg.
Born Oct. 11, 1984 in Fayette County, he was the son of Jackie Claunch of Winchester and Ginger Trisler Bussell of Harrodsburg and was the husband of Julianna White Claunch.
He was recently discharged from the United States Marines after having served three, six month tours in Iraq. He was interested in auto mechanics, had attended Craven Community College and had plans to finish his Tool and Die degree at Bluegrass Technical College in the Spring.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: step-mother, Charlene Claunch of Winchester; step-father, Randy Bussell of Harrodsburg; maternal grandparents, James and Janie Trisler of Harrodsburg; mother-in-law, Anne Ballard of Harrodsburg; father-in-law, Jack L. White , Jr. of Knoxville; three brothers, Beau, Lucas and Ethan Claunch all of Harrodsburg; one step-brother, Joe Bussell of Somerset; two step-sisters, Tracie Richardson of Portsmouth, Virginia and Charlotte Cox of Campton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert “Tink” and Della Claunch.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Delbert Hammonds and Terry Cornish officiating. Burial with military Rites will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Lewis, Joe Bussell, Brennan Sexton, Bill Cooper, Ray Christian, Beau Claunch and Ethan Claunch.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenda Raider, Brenda Mason, Jennifer Arnold, Melissa Raider and Hannah Conover.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 7 a.m. Thursday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
SEAN CLAUNCH
Veteran Killed In Motorcycle Accident
Sean Claunch, 23, of 203 Hillcrest Drive, who was recently discharged from the U. S. Marine Corps after serving thee six-month tours in Iraq, was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident at 11 p.m. Monday on the U.S. 127 Bypass near Bellows Mill Road.
Claunch was northbound on the bypass and lost control of the cycle in a curve near the intersection at Bellows Mill Road, said Mercer Deputy Sheriff Chris Edwards. The cycle went into the median, crossed over the southbound lanes and hit a guardrail.
A passing motorist alerted police of the accident and Harrodsburg police and fire units, Edwards and Deputy Wes Gaddis responded to the scene.
Mercer County Deputy Coroner Scott Moseley pronounced Claunch dead at the scene. He said Claunch died from blunt force trauma.
The cycle was totaled in the accident.
Deputy Edwards is continuing to investigate the fatality.
Claunch is survived by his wife, Julianna White Claunch and parents, Ginger Trisler Bussell of Harrodsburg and Jackie Claunch of Winchester. Other local survivors include his stepfather, Randy Bussell of Harrodsburg; maternal grandparents, James and Janie Trisler; mother-in-law, Anne Ballard and three brothers, Beau, Lucas and Ethan Claunch.
