BETTYE EDMONDSON
Bettye Jewell Devine Edmondson, 75, of Salvisa, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville after a short illness.
Born Sept. 1, 1932 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ford Edwin and Ethel Grimes Devine and was the wife of W. Gene Edmondson.
She was a bookkeeper for Lillie McKinney Tax Service and Betty Edmondson Tax Service. She attended Cumberland Presbyterian Church was a member of the Wednesday Club, an avid U.K. Fan and a charter member of the Harrodsburg Band where she played drums.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping and her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: one son: Todd (Darlene) Edmondson of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Tracey (Jeff) Durham of Stanford and Tamsen (Mark) Metcalf of Danville; four sisters, Jane Reed, Patricia Phillips, Sue Shewmaker, and Rita K. McGlone; one brother, Tony Devine and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Debra Jean Devine and three brothers, Morgan, Roger and Andrew Devine.
The funeral was Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Frank Preston officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Jeff Durham, Mark Metcalf, Jacob Edmondson, Matt White , Tony Devine and Jebs Devine.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.

BEVERLY FLOYD
Beverly Jane Fernandes Floyd, 77, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 12, 1930 in Wilmar, CA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edwina Grace Montgomery Fernandes Sr. and was the widow of Harry T. Floyd.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Charlene Monaghan of Harrodsburg; one sister, Evelyn F. Ponder of Texas City, TX; two granddaughters, Anjanette (Greg) Cobb of Georgetown, and Jennifer (David) Biroschik of Lexington; one great granddaughter, Madison Michelle Cobb, and two great grandsons, Grant Nolan Biroschik and John Gaige Biroschik.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jerri Marie Harris; one brother, Frank Fernandes Jr, and one sisters, Macine F. Dane.
There will be no visitation. A committal service and burial will be at the Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside CA.
Memorial contributions can be made to University of Kentucky Children's Hospital.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
NANCY GOSTOMSKI
Nancy Harmon Gostomski, 64, Bradenton, FL, formerly of Versailles and a Lebanon native, died Sep 23, 2007, following complications from back surgery.
Nancy was a member of Living Lord Lutheran Church and was retired from IBM as a systems analyst. She served as secretary of the board of directors for Tara, was a member of the Niners of Tara, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was active with the Parkinson's exercise group as well as being involved in many other acts of kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirtley Sr. and Mayme Jarboe Harmon.
Survivors include: her husband, Dominic Gostomski of Bradenton, FL; a son, Terry R. (Allison) Gostomski of Warrensburg, MO; a sister, Brenda J. Harmon of Lebanon; five brothers, Kirtley Harmon Jr. of Lebanon, Jerold Harmon of Mobile, AL, Rodman Harmon of Lexington, Donald Harmon of Burgin, and George Harmon of Munford, TN; three grandchildren, Katherine, Ross, and Laurel E.H. Gostomski.
Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, Bradenton, FL 34207, was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church, Lebanon, Friday, October 12, at 4:30 pm.

EDNA HOGUE
Edna Hogue, 88, died Monday, Oct 8, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Oct 9, 1918 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Goldman and Ethel Woods Patterson and the widow of James Edward Hogue.
Edna graduated from McAfee High School and attended Georgetown College. She retired from Palm Beach and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and a devout Christian all of her life. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Harrodsburg Chapter #309.
Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn Hogue of Danville; one son, James G. (Judy) Hogue of Harrodsburg; two granddaughters, Lori Anne (Michael) Burke and Heather (Wayne) Tudor and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, J.C. (Emily) Patterson and two sisters, Grace (Clifton) Demeree and Zorada Patterson.
The funeral will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct 11 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are David Phillips Jr., Brandon Noel, Wayne Tudor, Michael Burke, Hayven Lawson and Bobby Lawson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #309.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct 10 after 5 p.m. and Thursday prior to service.

ADELE RANSDELL
Adele G Ransdell, 85, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at her home.
Born Oct. 23, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary W. Coleman Garriott and the widow of C.D. Ransdell Jr.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church. She was also very active in the Gideon International Auxiliary and the Baptist Women's Mission Union where she held several offices throughout the years, both at local and state levels.
Survivors include: one daughter, Geri Bare of Louisville; one son, C. David (Lois) Ransdell, III. of Harrodsburg; one foster daughter, Lynda (Nolan) Nichols of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Ruth Bunton of Lexington and Jane Stevens of Danville; one brother, Jack Garriott of Mercer County; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Trudy G. Ransdell.
The funeral was held on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Larry Kock, Nick Coleman & John Kesel officiating. Burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Jim Stevens, John Bunton, Tim Shannon, Sonny Ransdell, Todd Allen and Van Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Gideon Auxiliary.
BARBARA RANSDELL
Barbara Ann Ransdell, 65, of Sadieville, died Thursday, Oct 4, 2007 at her home.
Born Nov 23, 1941 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Ray B. and Dorothy Lee Honnaker Ransdell.
She served in the Navy. She was a customs inspector for the Federal Government, Kentucky State Government employee and teacher. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sisters, Janice Kenley of Stamping Ground, Linda Nichols of Harrodsburg, and Diane Martin of Grant, AL, and one brother, David M. Ransdell of El Paso, TX.
A private funeral will be conducted at the Spring Hill Cemetery
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Fund.
LETTIE SMITH
Lettie Mae Smith, 98, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.
Born May 7, 1909 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Molly Coslow Carrier and the widow of Goble Smith.
She was a homemaker, and a member of Benton Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sadie Smock of Mercer County and Helen McCoy of Dixville; one sister, Mary Roberts of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Violet Brown; five brothers, Russell, Garnett, Marvin, Elwood, and Raymond Carrier; two sisters, Beulah Smith and Geneva Phillips, and five infant children.
The funeral was held Friday, September 28 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Patterson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
ALBERT STUMPH
Albert Stumph, 77, of Harrodsburg died Wednesday, Oct 10, 2007 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
JESSE THOMAS
Jesse W. Thomas, 93, formerly of Salvisa, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 in Washington , DC.
Born Jan. 2, 1914 in Jackson Springs, NC, he was the son of the late Calvin Ashley and Cora Belle Thomas, and the widower of Nancy Edith Thomas.
He served during World War II in the Army. He was a retired Master Sergeant for the US Army and a member of the Salvisa Methodist Church.
He is survived by one son, Joe A. Thomas, of Key Largo, FL.
The funeral was held Friday, Oct 5 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
ESTILL WILEY
Estill Wiley Sr., 95, Frankfort, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Frankfort, following an extended illness.
Born October 21, 1911, in Henry County, he was a son of the late Benjamin Thomas Sr. and Annie Page Wiley.
He was a retired farmer, a former employee of Rainbow Coal Company in Versailles and the Franklin County Road Department. He was a member of Camp Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Betty (Harold) Hensley of Frankfort; a son, Estill (Sue) Wiley Jr., of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Ben T. Wiley of Frankfort; three grandchildren, Donnie Jividen of Harrodsburg, Bonnie Florian of Versailles and Kathy Dickerson of Louisville; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
His wife, Lillie Shields Wiley, preceded him in death on April 12, 2000. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Russell Wayne Wiley; two brothers, Lester Wiley and Bobby Wiley; and a sister, Elizabeth Wiley Brown.
Services will be conducted on Monday, October 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel I Frankfort with burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford Co. Rev. Don Karsner, pastor of Camp Pleasant Baptist Church, will officiate.
Casket bearers will be Harold Hensley, Donnie Jividen, June Wiley, Lonnie Brown, Mark Florian and Donald Hedden.
Honorary bearers will be Dan Franks, Beulah Wiley Franks, Venard Centers and Hazel Centers.
Friends may call Sunday, October 7, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel.
