GARY ADAMS
Gary Lynn Adams, 49, of Kingsway Drine, Nicholasville, died Saturday, July 28, at Central Baptist Hospital.
He was a native of Garrard County, born May 13, 1958 to the late Lee and Marie Cox Adams.
Gary was an employee of Altec where he worked as a team leader. He enjoyed truck pulls and playing with his daughter.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Ann King Adams; one daughter, Jessica’Lynn Adams; his father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Dora King; five sisters, Stella (Bill) Estes, Stanford, Joyce (Larry) Phillips, Stanford, Elsie Adams, Lancaster, Carolyn (Bill) Davis and Barbara (Roy) Grimes, both of Nicholasville; three brothers, Donnie (Connie) Adams, Harrodsburg, Richard (Linda) Adams, Lancaster, and Johnny Adams and his companion Rita Graham; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death in 2004 by a sister Jeannie Peavler.
Services were held Tuesday, July 31, at the Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home, Nicholasville, with Rev. Peggy Waggoner officiating. Burial was in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were his nephew and great-nephews, Brandon Adams, Devin Adams, Allen Mattingly, Michael Johnson, Curtis Grimes, Johnathan Grimes, and James Clark.
Honorary bearers were his brothers-in-law, Bill Estes, Roy Grimes, Bill Davis, Larry Phillips, Billy King, and Mike King.
BETTY BURKHEAD
Betty Burkhead, 68, New Castle, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville.
Born February 9, 1939 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hattie Quinn Lyons, and was the widow of Leon Burkhead.
She was a homemaker and a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Myrtle Lewis of Harrodsburg and one half-sister, Addie Bea Moberly of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Pulliam and Charlie Lyons, and two sisters, Sarah Pittman and Gladys Thornton.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
BILLY CARPENTER
Billy Joe Carpenter, 63, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Danville, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 after a short illness.
Among his survivors is a sister, Corrine Johnson.
There will be no services.
IRENE DURHAM
Irene Durham, 80 of Glenmore Heights in Lancaster died Tuesday July 24, 2007 in Danville
Born September 9, 1926 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence & Jean Thompson Naylor. She was the widow of Charles Durham
She was a retired employee of Rite Aid, and a member of the Forks of Dix River Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by two brothers George H. and J. K. Naylor, and a sister Gladys Davis.
Survivors include: five sisters, Florence McCane and Lula Montgomery of Lancaster, Marie Merchant of Harrodsburg, Wilma Wagner of Seattle, WA and Mary Francis Irvin of Batesville, MS.
Services were held Friday, July 27, at the Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, by Bro. Jerry Browning. Burial was in Camp Nelson Cemetery.
Nephews were pallbearers and nieces served as honorary bearers.
TRAVIS KELLERSBERGER
Travis Taerlach Kellersberger, 16, of Salvisa, died Friday, July 27, 2007 at his home.
Born April 8, 1991 in Ft. Campbell, he was the son of Scot Charles and Laura Jean Burkey Kellersberger.
He was a Junior at Mercer Senior High.
Other survivors include: two sisters, Bethany June Kellersberger and Kirsten Lenore Kellersberger, both of Salvisa; one brother, Russel Donald Kellersberger of Salvisa, and maternal grandfather Robert (Blanche) Lawrence Burkey.
Memorial service to be held at a later date. Ransdell Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
WILLIAM MILLER
William Alva “Boots” Miller, 87, died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born April 12, 1920 in Hardin County, he was the son of the late Alva and Lora Cundiff Miller, and was the husband of Edna Lucille Robinson Miller.
He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #349, Dugginville, and Hopewell Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer, trustee and a member of various committees.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: a stepdaughter, Harriet (Jim) Coyle; three stepchildren by a former marriage, William (Judy) Honerkamp, Naomi (Charles) Pittman and Irene Burton; two step-grandchildren, Christie (Bill) Mills and Shane Coyle, and three step-great grandchildren, Micayah, Brianna and Joshua Mills.
Services were Saturday, July 28, at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Bill Mills and Brian Burkhead officiating. Burial was in Kirkwood Cemetery.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
BETTY MORRIS
Betty Paris Springate Morris, 72, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born May 18, 1935 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Coleman Paris and Myrtle Bryant Springate. She was the widow of the late Bennett Morris.
She was a 1953 Salvisa High School graduate, a cook and long time employee with the Salvisa General Store and a member of the Kirkwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by: three sons, Keith (Anne) Morris and Dudley (Bobbe) Morris, both of Salvisa, Craig (Kay) Morris of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Gerri S. Hawthorne of Lawrenceburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Including her husband and parents she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Maurice Springate, Byron Springate, Roy Springate, W. S. Inman, Cotton Springate, Kavanaugh Inman and Herman Inman, Jr.
Funeral service were held Friday, July 27, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Jerel Coffey and Bro Cawood Morris officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

GRACE ROGERS
Grace Elizabeth Rogers, 1 ½ days, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington.
She is survived by her parents, Josh and Lisa Sharp Rogers; sister, Cheyenne Rogers, brothers, Cale and Abram Handy, all of Lawrenceburg; maternal grandparents, Charles “Tommy” and Rachael Sharp of Owenton; paternal grandparents, Glen and Brenda Rogers of Lawrenceburg; maternal great-grandmothers, Mildred Acree of Owenton and Ida Bell Sharp of Georgetown; paternal great-grandmothers, Louise Rogers of Harrodsburg and Wanda Cornett Ingram of Irvine; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 29, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. David “Milkweed” Wotier officiating. Burial was in Mussell Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery
in Owenton.
JUNIOR TURNER
Junior Lee Turner, 65, Harrodsburg, died Monday, July 30, 2007 at his residence.
Born September 9, 1941 in Somerset, he was the son of the late Albert and Nonie Price Turner, and was the husband of Betty Rose Turner,
He had worked 23 years with Cudahay, eight years with Dairymen and 12 years at Dairy Queen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was an avid fan of television westerns.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons: Terry Lee Turner and his wife, Stephanie of Harrodsburg, and Robert Charles Hayes of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Vickie Carol Arnold of Harrodsburg; four sisters, Evelyn Bush of Harrodsburg, Betty Jean Sears of Burgin, Sue Harrison of Harrodsburg and Violet Hafley of Mitchellsburg; four brothers, John Turner of Texas , Wilburn Turner of Harrodsburg, Lavonnie Turner of Missouri and Odell Turner of Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Louie J. Turner, and one sister: Christine Mize.
A memorial service will be Thursday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Harrodsburg with Stuart Holt officiating.

MARY WATTS
Mary Catherine Aeschbach Watts, 81 of Louisville died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at her residence.
Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Reuben D. Watts; four sons, John (Jamie), Jim (Debbie), Kenny (Phyllis), and Kevin Watts; three daughters, Jean (Jim) Baker, Gemma (Chris) Grisanti and Barbara Watts; 11 grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa), Jason (Kelley), Ryan, Amanda, Diane, Michael, Emily, Julie, Larry, Alan and John; one great-grandson, Carson; and sister-in-law Betty Watts of Harrodsburg.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Marie Watts, and by brother-in-law Wayne Watts of Harrodsburg.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, July 31, at St. Brigid Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the WHAS Crusade for Children, or charity of donor’s choice. Bosse Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements.
