Kelly Rush, age 67, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2004, at the Knox County Hospital in Barbourville, Kentucky.
Born March 12, 1937, in Corbin, Kentucky, she was a factory worker for a manufacturing company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Rush and Hazel Cobb Rush; and a sister, Lois Floyd.
Survivors include a sister, Doris Reams of London, Kentucky; and brothers Elvis Rush, Elmer Rush Jr., Kenneth Rush and Roy Dean Rush, all of London, Kentucky.
Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harlan Avery and the Rev. Jamie Maxey officiating. Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park at London.
Dorothy Mae "Hey-D" Haag
Dorothy Mae "Hey-D" Haag, age 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, a native of London, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2004, at the Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. She is survived by her husband, Elmer N. Haag of Louisville.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Monday, December 6, at the Owen Funeral Home in Louisville, with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Rachel (Owens) Cotton
Rachel (Owens) Cotton, age 78, of Kinkaid Road, Manchester, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2004, at the Rockcastle County Hospital. She was a daughter to the late Maggie (Smith) and Bev Owens.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, at the London Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Wilson-Lucas Cemetery
in Clay County, Kentucky.
James R. Herrell
James R. Herrell, age 73, husband or Norma Hurst Herrell of Barrett Road in London, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at his residence.
He was born on June 6, 1931, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, son of the late James Arch and Cora Lenore McCrary Herrell. Mr. Herrell was a retired Kentucky State Police trooper having 29 years of service, was a United States Army veteran, a member of the McKee Masonic Lodge #144 F&AM, a deacon and Sunday School teacher at New Salem Baptist Church in London, Kentucky.
Survivors include the following children: Jim Herrell and wife Lynn of Ft. Myers, Florida, David Herrell and wife Carolyn and Julie Chesnut and husband Randy, all of London, Kentucky, and Joey Herrell and wife Tami of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; one sister, Grace Redmon of Middlesboro, Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Rhyan, Mark, Haley, Sidney and Jared.
Mr. Herrell was preceded in death by a son, Mark Herrell, and the following sisters and brothers: Gladys, Ruth, Faye, Gene, Ralph and Roy.
Funeral services for James R. Herrell were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, at the New Salem Baptist Church in London with the Rev. Greg Deaton and the Rev. Dennis Hammons officiating. Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London under direction of the House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were his sons, son-in-law, and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Barrett, Charlie Blankenship, Fran Curci, Doug Hysinger, Donnie Massey, Mack Owens, Charlie Pennington and Wilmer Vanhook.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Salem Baptist Church or to the Tri-County Hospice.
Randolph "Ran" Cottongim
Randolph "Ran" Cottongim, age 88, of London, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at his residence. He was born July 16, 1915, in Clay County, Kentucky, to William and Nancy Jane Sawyers Cottongim, who preceded him in death.
He was married to Emily Lunsford Cottongim for 42 years, and she also preceded him in death.
He was a World War II veteran with many medals, including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Survivors include two sisters, Etta Mae Mooningham of Tampa, Florida, and Eva Jones of Cynthiana, Kentucky.
He was a loving father to four surviving step-children, Truman Hooker and wife Sue of Huntsville, Texas , Monroe Dezarn of Independence, Kentucky, Joe Dezarn and wife Lila of Manchester, Kentucky, and Elizabeth Alton and husband Danny of London, Kentucky. He had eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 4, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Bill Culton officiating. Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London.
Mark McKinley Tackett
Mark McKinley Tackett, age 31, of South Main Street, London, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004.
Born September 8, 1973, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a cosmetologist and member of the Corinth Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Shelia (Branham) Tackett and Ernest D. Tackett of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; a daughter, Megan Jade Tackett of Corbin, Kentucky; a brother, Michael Vinson Tackett of London, Kentucky; two sisters, Shawna Leigh Bentley of London, Kentucky, and Tarah Renee Tackett of Richmond, Kentucky; his grandmother, Leora Branham of McRoberts, Kentucky; a great-grandmother, Goldie Raymond of Whitesburg, Kentucky; and two nieces, Heidi Bentley and Isaella Bentley, both of London, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 6, at the Corinth Baptist Church with Dr. James Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park under the direction of the Bowling Funeral Home.

Louie Landon Miller, age 74, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a son to the late Effie (Parker) and Furman Miller.

Anna Mae Hicks, age 86, of Little Pittsburg Road, London, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at the Corbin Nursing Home. She was a daughter to the late Hattie Lee (Groves) and William Hutchison, and is survived by her husband, Marion J. Hicks Sr. of London.
Graveside funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 3, at the Battle Grove Cemetery
under direction of the Bowling Funeral Home.

William Nelson Calvert III, age 60, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Donald Wayne Beckner
Donald Wayne Beckner, age 60, of Lincoln Road, London, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004, at his residence.
Born August 7, 1944, he was a crane operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy Dean Proffitt Beckner and Earl Beckner.
Survivors include children Robert Todd of Shelbyville, Indiana, and Timothy Wayne of Indianapolis, Indiana; brothers Gene Beckner, Robert Beckner, Willie Beckner and Larry Beckner, all of London, Kentucky, Norman Beckner of Annville, Kentucky, and Denny Beckner of Manchester, Kentucky; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 17, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Brown and Virgil Onkst officiating. Burial will follow in the Beckner Cemetery

Odie Smith Sprinkles, age 92, of North Mill Street, London, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at her residence.
Born March 19, 1912, in Manchester, Kentucky, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emily "Dug" Smallwood Smith and Frank P. Smith; her husband, Shafter Sprinkles; brothers John Smith and William "Dick" Smith; and sister Eva Freeman.
Survivors include daughters Edith Hood Sprinkles of London, Kentucky, and Eva Reece of Richmond, Indiana; a sister, Jemima Smallwood of London, Kentucky; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 18, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Hamblin officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery
at London.
