Linda K. Scott, 52, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of East Bernstadt, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Scott, and step-father, the Honorable Judge Boyd Boggs, and is survived by her mother, Ola (Reid) Shaw of Hamilton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 12, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Casteel Watkins Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 11, at the Bowling Funeral Home.

Robert N. Maxie, 43, of Hillcrest Nursing Home, Corbin, Kentucky, died Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at the nursing home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma Jean and James Maxie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, August 10, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Piney Grove Cemetery
at Burning Springs, Kentucky. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Allie Phelps Edwards

Allie Phelps Edwards, 88, of Parkside Road, London, Kentucky, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky. She had been a resident of the Christian Health Center in Corbin for the past four and a half years.
Born August 5, 1912, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a retired school teacher for the Laurel County Board of Education, having taught for 40 years. A member of the Fariston Christian Church her entire life and a Sunday School teacher there for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. Phelps and Mary Combs Phelps; her husband, Walter Edwards; a daughter, Bobbie Edwards Sumner; six brothers and sisters, Laura Phelps King, Lawrence Phelps, Beve Phelps, Robert Phelps, Nora Phelps Edwards and Joe Phelps; and an infant of Sally Phelps.
Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Edward Cole of Fariston, Ky.; three grandchildren, Walter Ray Sumner and wife Wanda of Fairfield, Ohio, Debbie Cole McGee and husband Curtis of Olathe, Kansas, and Carmen Sumner Shelton and husband Kenny of Gray, Ky.; five great-grandchldren, Nicky Ray Sumner of Hamilton, Ohio, Melissa Sumner of Fairfield, Ohio, Cole and Trent McGee of Olathe, Kansas, and Cody Shelton of Gray, Ky.; and two great-great-grandchildren, Austin Sumner of Fairfield, Ohio, and Ty Sumner of Hamilton, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 22, 2001, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Leo Crowe of Fariston Christian church officiating.
Burial followed in the Norville Cemetery
in Fariston, Kentucky.
Honorary pallbearers were a nephew, Earl King, and John Cornett. Pallbearers were Tony Smith, Jack Spitser, David Hamm, nephews Dennis King and Tommy Brown, and great-grandson Cole McGee.
Left to mourn her death are family members, many nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, and all the many children whose lives she touched for so many years.
Mam-maw, Miss Allie, Granny, however you knew her, we will miss you and remember daily how you touched each and everyone of us.

Earnest Mitchell Jackson, 77, of Burnett Road, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, August 5, 2001, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Anna Belle (Broughton) and Dave Jackson, and is survived by his wife, Lillie Jane (Hubbard) Jackson of London, Ky.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the East Colony Cemetery.

Clyde Burchette Sr., 81, of Corbin, Kentucky, died Sunday, August 5, 2001, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. He was the son of the late Maggie (Pridemore) and John Mack Burchette, and was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. Burchette.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, at the Corbin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Pine Hill Cemetery. Masonic services were conducted Tuesday evening.

Mary Bishop Young, 94, of East Fifth Street, London, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Joann (Hardin) and Calvin Bishop, and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Young.
Private graveside services were held Saturday, August 4, at the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park under the direction of House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
