Born May 22, 1962, in Laurel County, Kentucky, he was a carpenter and member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dick Hedrick; and a sister, Donna Hedrick.
Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Hedrick of London, Ky.; his wife, Pamela Hedrick of London, Ky.; a daughter, Evelyn Hedrick of London, Ky.; three sisters, Becky Hail and Tiffany Morris, both of London, Ky., and Teresa Smith of Georgetown, Ky.; and two brothers, Chris Hedrick and Doug Hedrick, both of London, Ky.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, at the Sinking Creek Baptist Church with Rob Napier and Marlow Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Dunn Cemetery
under the direction of Bowling Funeral Home.

Virginia L. Proffitt, 77, of Manchester, Kentucky, formerly of Corbin, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Collins) and Letcher Lewis, and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Proffitt.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 11, at the Resthaven Cemetery
under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.
James F. Jones

James F. Jones, 71, of Gray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at his residence. He was the son of the late Mable (Williams) and Jerry T. Jones, and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Zema (Medlin) Jones of Gray, Ky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 12, at the Gray Baptist Church, with burial following in the Helton Cemetery
under the direction of Corbin Funeral Home.

Glenn Baker Jr., 49, of Pleas Baker Road, London, Kentucky, died Thursday, August 9, 2001, at the Marymount Medical Center in London. He was the son of the late Violet (Carlton) and Pleas Jasper Baker, and is survived by his wife, Thelma (Lockaby) Baker of London, Ky.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Pine Creek Cemetery.
Woodrow Nicholson

Woodrow Nicholson, 86, of Greenmount-Bond Road, Greenmount, Laurel County, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001, at his residence.
Born August 20, 1914, in Clay County, Kentucky, he was a farmer, postmaster and merchant, and was a member of Greenmount Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruthie (Lewis) Nicholson and Shelby Nicholson; a daughter, Bernice Melcher; two sisters, Leah Murray and Sylvia Nicholson; and a stepson, Tim Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Grace (Allen) Nicholson of Greenmount, Ky.; a son, Winton Nicholson of Greenmount, Ky.; a daughter, Beulah Cornelius of Charleston, Ind.; two brothers, Cy Nicholson of London, Ky., and Junior Nicholson of Manchester, Ky.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, at the London Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Maggard and the Rev. William Bowling Jr. officiating.
Burial followed in the Greenmount Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Goodale, Jeromey Goodale, Jason Morris, Wesley Nicholson, Kevin Bowling and Eric Smith.
Eugene F. Sergent

Eugene F. Sergent, 72, of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2001, at Wellington Manor.
He was born on August 30, 1928, the son of John and Susie (Bruner) Sergent. He was married on November 29, 1950, to Eula Lee Sherman, who preceded him in death in 1982 after 32 years of marriage. He was employed as a pipe fitter for Fisher Body for 37 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of Cherry Valley Baptist Church and U.A.W. Local #233. He liked to travel and fish and loved to work outside.
He is survived by his son, Darrell Sergent and wife Lois of Hamilton, Ohio; four brothers, Pearl Sergent and wife Herstine of London, Ky., David Sergent and wife Marie of Maryville, Tenn., Carl Sergent and wife Della of London, Ky., and John Sergent of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Ruth Rogers of Florida; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Sergent of Hamilton, Ohio; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby Hampton.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 4, at 3 p.m., at Kowalk Funeral Home Rose Hill Chapel, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio, with Pastor Claude Robertson officiating.
Entombment followed in the Sanctuary Rose Mausoleum at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Emma Hayley Johnson, of Mink Lane, London, Kentucky, the daughter of Sandy (Jones) and Stacy Johnson of London, Kentucky, was stillborn Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She is survived by a grandmother, Judy Eliza Johnson, of London, Ky.; grandparents Lana and Donald Johnson of Somerset, Ky.; grandmother Geneva Jones of London, Ky.; and grandfather Bill Jones of London, Ky.
Graveside services were held Friday morning, August 10, at the Rough Creek Cemetery
with the Rev. Harlan Avera officiating. House-Rawlings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Florence Locke Parman, 89, of North Mill Street, London, Kentucky, died Monday, August 6, 2001, at the Marymount Medical Center in London. She was the daughter of the late Alberta (Hawley) and Alex Locke, and was preceded in death by her husband, William Goebel Parman.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 9, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Wiggington Cemetery.

Betty Jean Baker, 61, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, died Monday, August 6, 2001, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Carson, and is survived by her mother, Beatrice (Nelson) Carson, and her husband, John Baker, both of East Bernstadt.
