Estill Cornett, 84, of High Top Road, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at his residence. He was the son of the late Virgie and Watson Cornett, and is survived by his wife, Alice Cornett of London, Ky., and former wife, Irma Melton of Hazard, Ky.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the McDaniel Cemetery
at London. Services were also held on June 12 at the funeral home.
Charles Bruce Westerfield
Charles Bruce "Chucky" Westerfield, 43, of New Tazewell, Tennessee, formerly of Corbin, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at the Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell. He was the son of late Henry Harrison Westerfield and is survived by his mother, Ruth Anna (Wren) Westerfield, and wife, Deborah J. Westerfield of New Tazewell, Tenn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Corbin with with burial following in the Merrimac Cemetery
under the direction of Vankirk Funeral Home.
Mollie Harris Vaughn

Mollie Harris Vaughn, 93, of Balsinger Street, London, Kentucky, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at the Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London.
Born September 4, 1907, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, she was a cook for the Laurel County public schools and member of the East London United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Harris and W.S. Harris, and husband, John Henry Vaughn.
Survivors include two daughters, Nieata Bailey of Fairfield, Ohio, and Amata Johnson of London, Ky.; a son, Elmer Vaughn of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Marendt of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 11, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Ike Proffitt and Nick Vaughn officiating. Burial followed in the A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London.
Emma McCarty Cottongim

Emma McCarty Cottongim, 97, of West 7th Street, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at the Marymount Medical Center in London.
Born October 1, 1903, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a homemaker and member of the East Pittsburg Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeannie McCarty and John McCarty; her husband, Thomas W. Cottongim; a daughter, Jean Cottongim; and a sister, Bertha Bullock.
Survivors include a son, Laddle Cottongim of London, Ky.; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Woods officiating. Burial followed in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.

Ruth Oneil Coffey, 47, of Route 3, Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, died Monday, June 4, 2001, at the Berea Health Care Center. She was the daughter of Grace Helton Hocker of East Bernstadt, Ky., and the late Kenneth Hocker. She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Coffey of Mt. Vernon.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 6, at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Vernon, with burial following in the Murray Cemetery
at East Bernstadt.
Roy Ancil Anders

Roy Ancil Anders, 73, of London, Kentucky, passed away at home Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 5:23 a.m.
He was born in Laurel County on March 21, 1928, the son of Green and Rushie (Johnson) Anders.
Anders served in active duty in the Korean War, 3rd Infantry Division, AAA-AWSEP Headquarters, from November 1950 through August 1952. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 3302.
He was employed by General Motors Company in April 1949, retiring in May 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Lorene, of London, Kentucky; three children, Michael Farthing and wife Brenda of Fairfield, Ohio, Roy Alan Anders and wife Debbie of St. Petersburg, Fla., Sherry Carroll and husband Jim of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Macy Farthing and Maxx Farthing of Fairfield, Ohio; three brothers, Jesse Anders of London, Ky., Donnie Dean Anders of Pikeville, Ky., and Bill Anders of Louisville, Ky.; and a sister, Maxine Cobb of London, Ky.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 10, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

June Benge Nicholson, 69, of Keavy Road, London, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at the Marymount Medical Center in London.
Born November 20, 1931, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a housewife and member of the Corinth Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dealie (Cottongim) and Chester Wyatt; and her husband, Kenneth Nicholson.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon F. Benge of London, Ky.; a step-daughter, Pam Fugate of London, Ky.; two sisters, Tess Vanover of London, Ky., and Faye Kemp of Hobart, Ind.; and two step-grandchildren, Josh Fugate and Jason Fugate, both of London, Ky.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 6, at the Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. James Blaylock and Brother Barry Croley officiating. Burial followed in the Benge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Fugate, Josh Fugate, Jason Fugate, Melvin Chestnut, Steve Vanover and Kelvin Morris.
London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Winnie Andrews Brown, 84, of Carson Lane, East Bernstadt, Kentucky, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at her residence.
Born January 9, 1917, in Wadley, Georgia, she was a housekeeper and member of the Altamont Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie (Harris) and Richard Andrews; her husband, Theodore Roosevelt Brown; and a son, Victor L. Brown.
Survivors include eight daughters, Cecile Herron and Veltra Moran, both of Berea, Ky., Carrie Wall of Detroit, Mich., Geraldine Lambert of Indianapolis, Ind., Margaret Best and Beatrice Netta Williams, both of East Bernstadt, Ky., Belinda Gail Goggins of Lexington, Ky., and Brandi M. Brown of Ashland, Ky.; two sons, William Edward Brown of New Carrolton, Md., and Leslie "Punchie" Brown of Hyattsville, Md.; three sisters, Beatrice Viney of Lexington, Ky., Earnestine Andrews of London, Ky., and Edna Mae Ellington of East Bernstadt, Ky.; 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5, at the London Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charlie Helton, Bro. Craig Clark, Bro. James Barleston and L.J. Harrison officiating. Burial followed in the Pittsburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gerry E. Herron, Daniel Herron, George Riley, Joe Carson, Bryant Lambert, Victor Brown and Jonathan Riley.
