Funeral services were held Thursday, June 28, 2001, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Elza Cemetery.

Mary Irene McFadden Philpot, 75, of Laurel Road, London, Kentucky, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at her residence.
Born February 20, 1926, in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a businesswoman and believer in the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie (Benge) McFadden and Robert Potter McFadden; and her husband, James C. Philpot.
Survivors include a son, Rollan Philpot of London, Ky.; two daughters, Brilla Philpot and Carrie Watkins, both of London, Ky.; three sisters, Alice Cupp, Jewell Hammons, and Patsy Minton, all of London, Ky.; four brothers, Bart McFadden and Ben McFadden, both of London, Ky., Mendal McFadden of Hamilton, Ohio, and Ladle McFadden of Nelsonville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Philpot officiating. Burial will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery.

A mass of Christian burial will take place 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at the Holy Spirit Church in Newport. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Newport, where a prayer service will be held at at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery
at Cold Spring, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, at the Greenhills Baptist Church, 2087 Fenlon Street, Williamsdale, Ohio, with burial following in the Millville Cemetery.

Granville Brock Jr., 69, of Laurel River Road, London, Kentucky, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at the Marymount Medical Center in London.
Born August 21, 1931, in Laurel County, Kentucky, he was a carpenter, veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and member of the Church of God in Jesus Name.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicie (Tuttle) Brock and Granville Brock.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Brock of London, Ky.; five daughters, Lisa Jackson and Shiela Gambrel, both of London, Ky., Dee Ann Woolum and Marlene Tidwell, both of Barbourville, Ky., an Lucille McIntosh of Cruthersville, Ind.; three sons, Marvin Brock and Scott Brock of Dayton, Ohio, and Bob Brock of Germantown, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 22, at the London Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Charlie Williams and Brother Phillip Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Whitaker Cemetery
at London.

Born January 2, 1930, in Clay County, Kentucky, she was an employee of the United States Forest Service and was a member of the Slate Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma Hammons and Joe Hammons; her husband, Curtis Stamper; and a sister, Clara Johns.
Survivors include a daughter, Edna Sergent of London, Ky.; two sisters, Thenie Bruner and Maxine Martin, both of London, Ky.; three brothers, Jay Hammons of London, Ky., Roy Hammons of Versailles, Ky., and Steve Hammons of Fariston, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 24, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delmer Gross and the Rev. Johnny Sergent officiating. Burial followed in the Old Salem Cemetery.
