Thelma Gladys Berry, 78, of Maysville, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday at Maysville Extended Care Center. She was a former employee with U.S. Shoe.
Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Early of Wilmington, Ohio, and Rosalie Frederick of West Union, Ohio; a sister, Juanita Polley of Maysville; brothers, Clarence Legge of Maysville and William Legge of Greenfield, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Brell & Son Funeral Home, Maysville, with visitation from noon. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery
in Mason County.

John E. Glauber Sr., 82, of Carrollton, died Friday at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was a real estate broker/appraiser for Glauber Real Estate Associates, Carrollton and a former owner of Glauber's Shoe Store, Carrollton. He was appointed to the board of Carrollton Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1940 and served as chairman of the board for the past 25 years.
His wife, Inez Mudd Glauber, died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Glauber Bell of Louisville; sons, John E. Glauber and Steve F. Glauber, both of Carrollton; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Ruth A. Lyons Hemingway, 57, of Covington, died at 10:50 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was an office manager for New Perceptions Inc. in Edgewood.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Hemingway; sons, Douglas Lankheit of Covington and Thomas W. Hemingway Sr. of Latonia; a daughter, Rebecca Ann Hemingway of Covington; a brother, Barry Lyons of Grants Lick; and two grandchildren.

Philip Jacobs, 52, of Elsmere, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was an employee with Delta Airlines and an Army veteran of the Vietname War.
Survivors include sons, Philip Jacobs of Elsmere and Dan Jacobs of Cincinnati; and four grandchildren.

Josephine Stahl, 72, of Maysville, died at 1:18 a.m. Friday at Columbia Hospital in Maysville. She was a former legal secretary.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Stahl; sons, John W. Stahl of Maysville, James Joseph Stahl and Patrick Anthony Stahl, both of Cincinnati, Charles Jeffery Stahl of Hawaii and Michael G. Stahl of Lexington; daughters, Judith Ann Bruns of Williamsburg, Ohio, and Maria Theresa Solomon of Wilder; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Church, Maysville, with visitation at 7 p.m. Sunday at Brell & Son Funeral Home and burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Maysville.

Rose L. Greene, longtime nurse
Rose L. Greene loved babies and small children and made them her vocation early, and later, in her life.
A former nurse, Mrs. Greene, 86, of Florence, died Friday afternoon at Woodspoint Geriatric Care Center, Florence.
Mrs. Greene and her husband, Gilby Greene, were married for 58 years. He served for many years on Florence City Council and is a retired principal of Turkeyfoot Junior High School.
A native of Georgetown who was reared in Owen County, Mrs. Greene studied nursing at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, where she also worked, said her daughter, Jane Piercefield. Her mother also worked at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, and in Frankfort, Mrs. Piercefield said, and after taking off for several years to be a mother to her own children, she returned to nursing at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North.
"Children and babies were a specialty. It's what she loved. She worked with newborns and with premature babies," said Mrs. Piercefield.
Her mother's decision to leave home and attend nursing school in Ohio was something of a departure from the norm of her time, Mrs. Piercefield pointed out.
Mrs. Greene was very active over the years within the Florence Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for 30 years, her daughter said, and was also a longtime member of the Womens' Missionary Union and the Ladies' Circle.
Other survivors include a daughter, JaNelle Lopresti of Edgewood; a son, Gary Greene of West Bloomfield, Mich.; a sister, Louise Rose of Owenton; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Erlanger. Louise B. Beyers, 89, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Sanders, died Friday in Florida. She was a retired teacher and a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Leesburg.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur C. Beyers; a daughter, Anita Henry of Powell, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Warsaw Cemetery. Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw, is handling arrangements.

Charles Richard Clark, 37, of Covington, died Monday at his home. He was an employee of Fastemp Inc., Newport, and an Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Charles R. Clark of Franklin, Pa.; his mother, Margaret McGinnis of Dayton; and a sister, Laura Lee McIntosh of Newport.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery

Mary Lou Work Dills, 65, of Dry Ridge, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday at her home. She was a retired inventory worker with Levi Strauss Co., Florence, and a member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church and Levi's Retirees Club, Florence.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Rayburn of Bean Station, Tenn.; a brother, Andrew Work of Dry Ridge; and sisters, Eloise Adams of Dry Ridge, Freda Adams of Crittenden and Esther Gray of Pewaukee, Wis.

David A. Harris, 94, of Covington, died at 9:25 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a retired electrician with Miami International Airport and an Army and Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella C. Shoemaker Harris; a brother, Joseph Harris of Deland, Fla.; and sisters, Jeanne Markowitz of Urbana, Ohio, and Mary Cooper of Findlay, Ohio.

Ruth L. Horton, 74, of Ludlow, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday at Gallatin County Health Care Center, Warsaw. She was a member of Sts. Boniface and James Church, Ludlow, and Ludlow Senior Citizens. She was a member of Women's Army Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include her husband, George G. Horton; sons, Melvin Horton of Washington , D.C., and Bill Horton of Florence; daughters, Linda Adams of Ludlow and Kathy Jones of Florence; a sister, Mary Ellen Buchheit of Alexandria; and seven grandchildren.

Estil McAllister, 68, of Carrollton, died Saturday at his home. He was a mechanic with Craig's Hardware Store, Carrollton. His wife, Margaret Jo McAllister, died in February.
