Delbert Smith
MADISONVILLE - Delbert Ray Smith, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Versnick Health Care Center of complications of cancer.
He had been a coal miner for the Peabody Coal Co. and was a World War II Army veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart.
Surviving are two daughters, Tamara Moore of Madisonville and Tracy Jones of Kendall, Wis.; a son, Tommy of Madisonville; a sister, Dorothy Patterson of Sturgis; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery
there.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Jimmy Fulcher
DIXON - Jimmy Darrell Fulcher, 53, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at his home of myocardial infarction.
He was a member of the Eastview Baptist Church in Henderson.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura Williamson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Sarah Fulcher of Henderson; two sons, Matt of Henderson and Marty of Jacksonville; his mother, Nellie Fulcher of Dixon; a brother, Glenn of Dixon; and a niece.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Townsend Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time.
Herschel Nave
CAIRO - Herschel "Bigfoot" Nave, 85, formerly of Uniontown, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at his home.
He opened Ohio 11 Mine in Uniontown and retired as foreman. He was a member of the Uniontown Coon Club.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Mary; three daughters, Linda Strunje of Louisville, Martha Cunningham of New Albany, Ind., and Joan Graham of Morganfield; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca, and two sons, Hilton and John.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, with burial in Rosedale Cemetery
in Dawson Springs.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Donald Biggs
HENDERSON — Donald Allen Biggs, 68, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, of congestive heart failure at Methodist Hospital.
He was a Korean War Navy veteran and a barber in the Henderson area. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.
Surviving are two daughters, Sam "Janet" Cartwright of Madisonville and Mary Beth Perry of Franklin; one son, Mark Biggs of Henderson; two sisters, Lillie West of Princeton, Ind., and Anna Mae Haynes of Henderson; two brothers, William "Bill" Biggs of Henderson and James E. Biggs of Starke, Fla.; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His wife, Frances Owens Biggs, died in 1979.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, the Rev. Don Davis officiating, with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with military rites.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 11 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Helen Smith
MARION — Helen L. Smith, 81, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Crittendeon County Hospital.
Survivors include cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Smith.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home, Lucy Tedrick officiating, with burial at Mapleview Cemetery.

Bryant McCamish
HAWESVILLE — Bryant J. McCamish, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at his home of congestive heart failure.
He was a member of the Whitesville Baptist Church. In 1966, he founded M&C Auto Parts in Hawesville.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Dot Payne McCamish; two sons, Bryant Gayle McCamish and Dwight McCamish, both of Hawesville; two brothers; Argle McCamish of Ohio and Marvin McCamish of Whitesville; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gibson and Son Funeral Home, with burial at Cates Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Roy Hammock
DAWSON SPRINGS — Roy Thomas Hammock, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at the Veterans Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
He was an auto mechanic and retired from Outwood Hospital as a boiler mechanic.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and is a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Martin of Madisonville; a sister, Mary Blankenship of Dawson Springs; a granddaughter, Wendy Arnold of Newburgh, Ind.; and a niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lucille Hammock Young, in 1968 and an infant brother and sister.
Services are at 1 p.m. today at Beshear Funeral Home, the Rev. Eddie Snodgrass officiating, with burial in Dunn Cemetery.
John Hite
MORGANFIELD — John W. Hite, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Wellington Parc in Owensboro.
He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown.
Surviving are his wife, Dean; three stepdaughters, Lisa Ronemous of Osage City, Kan., Lynn Langone of Cranford, N.J., and Lori Ackerson of Louisville; a stepson, John Vansickle of Louisville; two sisters, Agnes Stevens of Bedford, Mass., and Julie Joseph of Prattville, Ala.; and seven stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Uniontown, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with prayer services at 6:30 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to service time at Whitsell Funeral Home.
Jesse Burke
UNIONTOWN — Jesse Allen Burke, 59, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at home of peripheral vascular disorder.
He retired from CSR after 34 years. He was a member of Laborers Local Union 561 and a hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; four sons, David, Kevin, Tommy and Jason, all of Uniontown; seven sisters, Sue Hooker of Henderson, Martha Tapp, Rhonda Coker, Janice Williams and Cynthia Dunn, all of Uniontown, Peggy Coker of Smith Mills and Phyllis Cartwright of Morganfield; four brothers, Tom of Robards, H.S. Jr. and Kirby, both of Smith Mills, and Ricky of Wheatcroft; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Whitsell Funeral Home, with burial in Uniontown City Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
