Pressley Nichols
MADISONVILLE - Pressley E. Nichols, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He retired from Chrysler Corp.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher and choir member.
He was a member of Madisonville Lions Club and bowled with the Thursday Night Fighting Eight League and formerly bowled with the Monday Night Rebel League. He was known as "Mr. Chain Gang" for moving the chains at the sidelines at the Maroon football games.
Surviving are a sister, Lucille Doherty of Carson, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from noon to service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Madisonville-North Hopkins Athletic Department.
Agnes Reid
MORGANFIELD - Agnes (Bingham) Reid, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Morganfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She had worked for the Kentucky utilities and was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Surviving are two sons, James of Dallas and Tommy of Morganfield; seven grandchildren, Brad, Barry and Blaine Reid, Debra Rector, Amie Crawford, Bonnie Smith and Sandra Kennedy; 12 great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephews. Her husband, John, died in 1980.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Union County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and from noon to service time at Whitsell Funeral Home.
Lorene Campbell
HENDERSON - Lorene Trusty Campbell, 101, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at the Evansville Protestant Home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Bobbie Buchanan of Henderson; a son, G.L. of Henderson; six grandchildren, Jo Cowling, Nonnie Hopper, Kim McGrew, Beth and Belinda Buchanan and Susie Vogel; five great-grandchildren; ad a great-great-grandson.
Her husband, Omer, died in 1974.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home, with entombment in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice.
Geneva Dunville
HANSON - Geneva Martha (Prather) Dunville, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Brentwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Evansville.
Surviving are two daughters, Wilma Hungate of Colorado and Karla Bowers of McCutchinville, Ind.; two sons, Wilbur of Evansville and Thomas of Newburgh; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Cooney Basil, died in 1987.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Sassafras Grove Cemetery
near Onton, Ky.
There will be no visitation at Tompkins Funeral Homes Slaughters-Hanson Chapel.
Betty Jane Morris
CALHOUN - Betty Jane Morris, 68, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Riverside Manor Health Care Center of congestive heart failure.
She retired from the General Electric Corp. in Owensboro and had worked for the former Charles Chips Plant in Calhoun.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, Daniel F. Higgs of Calhoun; three sisters, Linda Gish of Bremen, Judy Logsdon of Poplar Grove and Carolyn Chambers of Madisonville; a brother, Terry Chambers of Calhoun; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Muster Funeral Homes Calhoun Chapel, with burial in Calhoun Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time.
James Stone
HENDERSON - James "Stoney" Stone, 73, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Methodist Hospital of cancer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 40, East End Tabernacle and a 46-year member of the Moose Lodge 732.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Price and Mary Jane Breamer, both of Henderson; three sons, James Michael and Perry, both of Henderson, and Gary of Evansville; two sisters, Dorothy Berry and Jerrye Walters, both of Henderson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be private and there will be no visitation at Tapp Funeral Home.
Warner Lindsey
FREDONIA - Warner N. Lindsey, 83, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Hilltop Nursing Home in Eddyville.
He was a member of Frances Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Joy Knight of Dycusburg; two sons, Ricky and Larry, both of Dycusburg; two sisters, Louise Boyd of Marion and Hazel King of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; and a son, Johnny.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in Dycusburg Cemetery.

Robert Bridges
CHARLESTON - Robert Bridges, 76, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center of heart and lung problems.
He worked in the coal mining industry for 43 years and was the state mining inspector for 20 years. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving on the USS Sawyer as a seaman 1st class. He was a member of the Dunn Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Jean; two daughters, Reba Jean Robinson of Fiddle Bow and Marilyn Marie Purdy of Charleston; two sons, Kirby Louis of Charleston and John William of Caldwell County; a sister, Nellie Marie Pemberton of Bryant, Ala.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, with burial in McNeeley Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Freda Lawrence
HENDERSON - Freda (Allen) Lawrence, 71, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Methodist Hospital. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Lawrence and Barbara Lambert, both of Henderson; two sons, Wayne of Owensboro and Clifford of Henderson; two sisters, Judy Zuelly of Tell City, Ind., and Janie Flamin of Indiana; four brothers, Darrell Allen of Tennessee and Ray, Eddie and Bobby Allen, all of Indiana; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
