Paul Steven "Steve" Bowley
Paul Steven "Steve" Bowley, 43, Robards, died at 12:01 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his home.
He was a member of Robards United Methodist Church. He worked for 24 years for Big Rivers/Western Kentucky Energy and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, the National Rifle Association and IBEW Local 1701.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Vicki Bowley; two sons, Todd Bowley of Robards and Jacob Bowley at home; his parents, Paul and Ann Bowley of Robards; two sisters, Cindy Darnell of Robards and Pam Titzer of Henderson; one granddaughter; and one niece.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Brett Eblen will officiate. Burial will be in Smith Mills Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Keith Scott, Dickie Austin, George Jones, Perry Bowley, Phillip Branson and Jeff Vandiver.
Owen Dixon Jr.
LEXINGTON -- Owen Dixon Jr., 78, Lexington, formerly of Henderson County, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Central Baptist Hospital here.
He was an Army veteran who served in World War II. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ella Grace Dixon; one daughter, Dixie Bristoe of Paducah; two sons, Owen E. Dixon III of Seneca, S.C., and Dennis Dixon of Louisville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery
in Henderson.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after noon Thursday at the funeral home.

HENDERSON - Mary Lee (Duncan) Farler, 62, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at her home.
Surviving are two sons, Albert and Ralph Crook; a stepdaughter, Diana Brooks; two stepsons, Danny and Darrel Brooks; three brothers, Hamlet, Illoff and Jimmy Duncan; three grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery
in Boxville.

HENDERSON - Jerry R. Gibson, 58, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Methodist Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; two sons, Preston and Darren; his parents, Cletus Gibson and Keitha Vincent; a sister, Judy Browning; and two grandchildren.

HENDERSON - William Dennis Griffin, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Medco Center of Henderson.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Ruby Nell; a stepdaughter, Lana Ramming Dossett; two sisters, Lela Cruz and Jeffie Cartwright; a brother, Donald and a grandchild.

DAWSON SPRINGS - Richard Allen "Richie" Hancock Jr., 27, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, in Dawson Springs.
He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Wendy (Barnard); two daughters, Breana Carol and Allison Renee; his parents, Richard Allen Sr. and Anna Delores Hancock; three brothers, Christopher Earl, Joseph Paul and Jerald Wayne Sr.; and his grandparents.

HANSON - Catherine Elizabeth "Cathy" McRoy, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
Surviving is a son, James.
Services will be private, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

HANSON - Arlice Donald "Duck" Vickers, 68, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center.
He was a coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Smith); five daughters, Barbara "Wendy" Marks, Dolly Darlene Sutton, Charlotte Ann Knowles, Stella Jean Webster and Tonya Diane Higbee; a stepdaughter, Melissa Anne Hanks; a son, Arlice Darrell; a stepson, Jim Hanks; a sister, Mary Wedner Eastwood; a brother, Cecil Everett and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, burial in Zion Brick Cemetery, with military rites.

DAWSON SPRINGS - Robert Bill "Airdock" Watson, 60, died, Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at NHC Health Care Center.
He was a coal miner and had worked for the gas company.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; two daughters, Wednesday Ann Cotton and Suzanne Marie Caldwell; a sister, Lois Ann Gamblin; a brother, Emmett; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Beshear Funeral Home, burial in Suthard's Cemetery

Skylar Atherton
MADISONVILLE - Skylar Lee Atherton, 7-month-old son of Jana Rudd and David Atherton, both of Richmond, Va., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at his home. The cause of death is pending autopsy results in Richmond.
Also surviving are a sister, Mary Atherton; and grandparents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville, with burial in East Lawn Cemetery
near Hanson.
