Edward Chavez
HENDERSON - Edward A. Chavez, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.
He was a psychologist in Henderson and retired from McDonald Douglas in St. Louis, Mo., in 1983.
Surviving are his wife, Nina; a daughter, Rebecca Fabrizio; a son, John; three brothers, Manuel, Joe and Arthur; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today at Benton Glunt Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
Bertha Damrath
BASKETT - Bertha Mae Damrath, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
Surviving are her husband, Sherman L.; three daughters, Joyce Ann Fark, Vickie Meredith and Terri Lee Vowels; a son, John Johnson; four sisters, Florence Zint, Clesta Scarbrough, Stella Haley and Ruby Madison; three brothers, Lee, Eddie and Bobbie Stuckey; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson, with burial in Baskett Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Norene James
OWENSBORO - Norene Graves James, 72, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Owensboro, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at her home of cancer.
Surviving are a son, Michael G. James; two sisters, Louella Lancaster and Wanda Cooper; and two grandsons.
There will be no services or visitation at the James H. Davis Funeral Home in Owensboro.
Clay 'Buck' Jones
HENDERSON - Clay Kenneth "Buck" Jones, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Methodist Hospital.
He retired from Jewel Tea Co. in 1994.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Pamela Grossman; a son, Michael; two sisters, Helen Todd and Ruth Buchanan; a brother, Glenn; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Carl Odom
STURGIS - Carl R. Odom, 49, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in Henderson.
He worked at Gibbs Die Casting in Henderson.
Surviving are his mother, Glena Ruth Odom; a sister, Carolyn Lee; and three brothers, Cliff, Larry and Ronnie Odom.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Sue Marie Smith
HENDERSON - Sue Marie Smith, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Methodist Hospital.
Surviving are three sons, James Anthony "Tony", Gary Wayne and Larry Schwartz; a sister, Peggy Denton; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Rebecca Dugger
MADISONVILLE — Rebecca Jane (Willyard) Dugger, 63, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at her home.
She was a co-owner of Dugger Distributing Co. and owned Carriage House Bed & Breakfast. She was the former owner of Rebecca?s Gifts.
Surviving are her husband, David H. Sr.; two daughters, Denise A. Griffin and Virginia Lynn Savidge; a son, David H. Jr.; two brothers, William I. and Robert L. Willyard; seven grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Johnnie Odell Riden
PROVIDENCE -- Johnnie Odell Riden, 79, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at his home here.
He was a retired coal miner and was also retired from Riden Auction and Realty. He was a senior deacon at Church of God of Prophecy in Providence for 26 years and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Mae Riden; two daughters, Ella Mae Riden Waddell and Barbara Ann Riden Gentry, both of Providence; two sons, Billy F. Riden of Providence and Johnnie C. Riden of Dixon; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home. The Revs. Joe Rickard and Jimmy Waddell will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery
in Clay.

Wilma Rogers
MARION — Wilma Rogers, 85, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at Crittenden County Convalescent Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Ringold and Debbie Shewcraft; two sons, Jerry and Robert Burton; a sister, Christine Driver; a brother, Clarence Jennings; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial in White Chapel Cemetery.
