Russell Lehman, 89, of Williamstown, died at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired Greyhound Bus Lines driver, and a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church; Grant Lodge No. 85 F&AM; Indra Consistory Scottish Rite in Covington; and Oleika Shrine Temple, Lexington. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His wife, Jane Blackburn Lehman, died in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Trudy Ann Lehman of Williamstown.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Williamstown United Methodist Church. Visi tation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the church. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Darwin Newman, 61, of Hebron, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a former press operator for Formica Corp., Cincinnati.
Survivors include sons, Steven D. Newman of Union and Eddie D. Newman of Burlington; daughters, Jean Kysinsky of Pensacola, Fla., Debbie Smith of Hebron and Sonya Painter of Alexandria; his father, Clarence Newman of Vincent; brothers, Harold Newman and Larry Newman, both of Vincent, Charles Newman of Beattyville, and Herschel Newman of Ocala, Fla.; sisters Wilma Newman and Florine Burke, both of Lexington, and Bethel Tenture of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.

Howard "Brownie" O'Banion, 87, of Owenton, died Saturday at his home. He was a farmer, a retired Kentucky state engineer in Owen County, and a member of Owenton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Bond O'Banion; a daughter, Janice Myers of Louisville; and two grandchildren.

Shirley Cook Perry, 51, of Williamstown, died at 5:20 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County in Williamstown, after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Sherman Baptist Church, Grant County.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Perry of Williamstown; sons, Bobby Perry of Covington and Larry Perry of West Liberty; brothers, Michael "Mickie" Cook of LaGrange, Roger Cook of Williamstown and Dennis Cook of Dry Ridge; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Campbell County.

Ethel K. Bryant Pike, 73, of Demossville, died Saturday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was an employee of Wiseway Plumbing, Electric & Lighting Supply Co.
Survivors include sons, Timothy R. Pike of Dry Ridge and Rodney Pike of Owenton; daughters, Vickie Burton and Candi Brewer, both of Falmouth; and four grandchildren.

Bradley Jonah Davis Rahe, the son of Bradley and Reva Davis Rahe of Glencoe, was stillborn at 11:55 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
Other survivors include a brother, Jacob Rahe, at home; maternal grandmother and step- grandfather, Evelyn and Larry Skinner of Warsaw; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Billy and Martha Davis of Sparta; paternal grandparents, Melinda and Jerry Rahe of Covington; and great-grandparents, E. Lena B. Rogers, 93, of Cincinnati, formerly of Belleview, died Saturday at Queen City Nursing Home in Cincinnati. She was a homemaker and a member of Belleview Baptist Church. Her husband, Clarence Rogers, died in 1959.
Survivors include a son, Larry Rogers of Burlington; a daughter, Rosezella Rogers of Burlington; a stepdaughter, Isabelle Rowland of Burlington; brothers, Harry Stephens and Luta Stephens, both of Burlington; a sister, Hallie Wallace of Hebron; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Jack F. Scherrer, 74, of Florence, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired production manager with General Electric, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Paul Church, Florence. His wife, Ann A. Scherrer, died in 1995.

James Monroe Smith, 84, Ft. Wright, died at 6:20 p.m. Feb. 10 at his home. He was a retired string musician with local night- club bands, a member of Covington Lodge No. 109 F&AM and the Indra Consistory Scottish Rite, and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Zelma Allen Smith; a son, Ronald M. Smith of Covington; and a sister, Melrose Dennison of Galveston, Ind.

Ballard R. "Pappy" Taylor, 89, of Covington, died at 11:50 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a retired mail clerk with National Distillery Co., Cincinnati, and a popular local musician.
Mr. Taylor played the fiddle and banjo with radio and television stations, including WJJD Radio in Chicago, where he played with Ernest Tubb and Roy Clark. His wife, Edna Ruddell Taylor, died in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Goldsmith of Cassopolis, Mich.; brothers, Tom Taylor of Rabbit Hash and Coy Taylor of Cincinnati; a sister, Adelle Reynolds Blades of Seaford, Del.; half-sisters, Agnes Coffey and Cora Lloyd, both of Columbia; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Herman R. Vermillion Sr., 77, of Maysville, died Saturday at Meadowview Hospital in Maysville. He was a retired farmer and a member of Washington , Ky., United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Louise Tuel Vermillion; daughters, Judy Ann Hiatt and Patsy Sue Bevins, both of Maysville; a son, Herman Vermillion Jr. of Augusta; a brother, James Vermillion of Covington; sisters, Martha Bell Florence of Carlisle, and Dorothy Mae Tuel of Germantown; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Hilda Jeanette Zornes, 80, of Latonia, died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired keypunch operator with DuBois Chemical Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Latonia Baptist Church, Covington Moose Lodge No. 1469, and American Association of Retired Persons. Her husband, Ralph L. Zornes, died in 1975. A son, Wayne Zornes, died in 1983.
Survivors include a son, Dick Zornes of Independence; a daughter, Jeanne Pence of Latonia; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Berry farmer Audrey Barnes, devoted dad
Audrey Barnes of Berry leaves behind a legacy of solid citizenship.
He was a farmer. A Navy veteran. A church member. A family man.
"He was quite a nice guy," said a son, Tim Barnes of Harrison County.
Audrey Barnes died Sunday at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. He was 77.
Mr. Barnes was born and reared on the family farm in Harrison County.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Then, for 50 years, Mr. Barnes raised cattle and tobacco on the homestead.
What did he like about farming?
"All of it," said his son.
Mr. Barnes retired from farm work several years ago. Twenty years before that, he retired from the former Ladish Co. in Cynthiana.Mr. Barnes was a member of Colemansville Christian Church. His son said his father's faith was very important to him.
As for hobbies, "he liked to hunt," Tim Barnes said. "Birds. Quail."
Other survivors include his wife, Allene Rowland Barnes; sons, Joe Barnes, Mike Barnes and Rick Barnes, all of Harrison County; daughters, Judy Benson of Lexington and Debbie Marcum of Richmond; sisters, Viola Milner of Harrison County, Adalene Rowland and Gladys Howard, both of Cynthiana; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery
in Berry.
