Harold V. Spaw, Sr., 76, of Erlanger, died at 11 a.m Monday at Clermont Mercy Hospital, Batavia, Ohio.
He was a retired meat cutter who worked at several meat markets in Baltimore and Northern Kentucky. He also was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include daughters, Jacqueline Farmer of Baltimore, Milly Arnold of Sidney, Ohio, and Linda Elstun and Bridget Junker, both of Florence; sons, Hal Spaw and Pat Spaw, both of Erlanger, and Jim Spaw of California; brothers, Donald Spaw of Jacksonville, Fla., and Haskell Spaw of Alexandria; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Patricia A. Callahan Streif, 81, of Park Hills, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a retired supervisor for the Internal Revenue Service, Covington. She was a member of St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright, and the American Busi ness Women's Association. Her husband, Pete Streif, died in 1970.
Survivors include nieces, Sandra L. Osterhues of Cincinnati, and Eileen Coulsell and Nancy Heinrichs, both of the state of California.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Louis Watkins, 61, of Williamstown, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was retired from Duro Bag, Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Watkins of Williamstown; daughters, Terri Carmack of Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Lou Ellen Woods of Williamstown; stepsons, Mark Slade of Latonia and Ervin Slade of Williamstown; stepdaughters, Pam Williams and Roberta Deaton, both of Williamstown; brothers, Joe Watkins, Homer Watkins and Andy Watkins, all of Ohio, and Jack Watkins of Florida; sisters, Estella Redman and Hazel Scully, both of Cincinnati, and Daisy Davis of Rising Sun, Ind.; and nine grandchildren.

Mary Francis Weaver, 82, of Morning View, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was retired from her own cleaning service.
Survivors include a son, Darryll Weaver of Independence; a daughter, Faye Rapp of Morning View; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Elvarene Williams, 88, of Dayton, died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She was a retired laundry worker for Bethesda Hospital. Her husband, Elmer C. Williams, died in 1971. A son, Blaine Williams, died in 1976.
Survivors include a son, Elmer F. Williams of Dayton; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Covington's Sister Mary Ann Adele, had high expectations for students
Sister Mary Ann Adele was a quiet woman who dedicated her life to helping others.
Sister Mary Ann Adele, S.N.D., of Cold Spring, died at 7:22 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, in Ft. Thomas. She was 67.
She was an elementary school teacher with the Diocese of Covington and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for 33 years. She was a former director of religious education at St. Joseph schools in Crescent Springs and Cold Spring.
"She was a soft-spoken person. She had high expectations for her students and was very involved in various service projects," said Sister Mary Rose Paula with the Sisters of Notre Dame in Covington.
"Her chief work was in religion projects and she also worked with the adult education. She had students ranging from children to adults in the religion field."
Sister Mary Ann Adele was born in Covington in 1930 and entered the congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame in Covington on Feb. 2, 1949. She made her first vows on August 8, 1951.
"She put her heart and soul into everything that she did," Sister Mary Rose Paula said. "She was a very giving person."
Survivors include brothers, Leonard Fritz of Ft. Mitchell, Steve Fritz of Crittenden, Louis Fritz of Crestview Hills and Larry Fritz of Danville, Va.; sisters, Julie Schwartz of Park Hills, Cyrilla Brake of Ft. Wright, Sister Mary Kathelyn and Sister Mary Stefanie, both of Covington, and Mary Jo Hawley of Columbus, Ohio.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Provincial House at St. Joseph Heights, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. May Lee Downing Arkenau, 76, of California, died at 2:10 a.m. at her home. She was a former owner of Betsy Ann Restaurant, Alexandria, and a former organist with California United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Happy 100 club in Alexandria, was a cook with Camp Sunshine, Mentor, and delivered for the Door Store.
She also was a member and past matron of Alexandria Chapter No. 337 Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Eastern Campbell Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband, Robert Arkenau, died in 1977. A daughter, Patricia McCormick, died in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Robert Arkenau of California; a daughter, Judy Arkenau of California; brothers, Raymond Downing and Joseph Downing, both of Alexandria; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Eastern Star services at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Persimmon Grove Cemetery. Mary Elizabeth Balasa, 84, of Danville, died Sunday at Charleston Health Care Center in Danville. She was a teacher at the Kentucky School for the Deaf, Danville, and a member of the school Hall of Fame and Ladies Aid Club.
Survivors include a son, Joe Balasa Jr. of Villa Hills; and daughters, Janet Jehn of Covington and Tillie Sowders of Danville.

Viebie Lee Catron Cantrell, 93, of Burlington, died Tuesday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a teacher and a member of Stony Point and Burlington Baptist Friends and Neighbors, Order of the Eastern Star, and Solid Rock musical group.
Survivors include sons, Talmage C. Cantrell of Florence, Roy C. Cantrell Burlington, Donald S. Cantrell of Fairfield, Ohio, and Timothy A. Cantrell of Lexington; sisters, Annie Sidwell of Monticello, Margaret Bowlin and Mae Walls, both of Albany, and Nell McKinley of Greenwood, Ind.; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

William Norris Chapman Sr., 76, of Latonia, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired assembler with the former Kinniard Body Works, Erlanger, and a member of Holy Cross Church, Latonia. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of American Disabled Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita M. Gripshover Chapman; sons, William N. Chapman Jr. and Michael P. Chapman, both of Covington; a daughter, Linda G. Henson of Covington; a brother, Francis Chapman of Florida; a sister, Clara Huffman of Warsaw; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

J. Donald Ewing, 75, of Burlington, died at 3:11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired stationary engineer with the Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati, and a member of Walton First Baptist Church. He also was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Chance Ewing; a daughter, Susan Starnes of Edgewood; stepdaughters, Paulette Schalck of Panama City, Fla., and Karen Ferguson of Nicholasville; two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.

Joseph M. Gibson, 92, of Taylor Mill, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. He was a retired route owner with Mister Softee ice cream company with routes in Covington and Latonia, and was a clerk with L&N Railroad. He also was a member of Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky. His wife, Georgia Carol Gibson, died in 1984. A daughter, Joyce Gibson, died in 1961.
Survivors include several great-nieces and great-nephews.
