Cleatus W. Oaks, 49, of Taylor Mill, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was an employee of Shell Oil Co., Cincinnati, and an Army veteran of the Vietname War.
Survivors include sons, Shane Oaks and B. J. Oaks, both of Hamilton, Ohio; his parents, Robert and Pauline Oaks of Taylor Mill; brothers, Donald Oaks of Batavia, Ohio, and Robert Oaks of Cincinnati; and a sister, Faye Perry of Morning View.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Catchen and Son Funeral Home, Elsmere. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

Alois Wilhelm 'Lou' Pastor, 75, of Augusta, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Place Nursing Home, Highland Heights. He was a retired tailor with L. S. Ayres and Saks Fifth Avenue, Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Haley Pastor.

Cecilia Marie Bush Penick, 92, of Walton, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a seamstress, and a member of Boone County Homemakers and Walton Christian Church. Her husband, Frank Penick Sr., died in 1997.
Survivors include a son, Frank Penick Jr. of Demossville; a daughter, Nora Louise Kelly of Harrison, Ohio; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Shirlie L. Phillips, 77, of Dry Ridge, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a retired carman with C&O Railroad yard in Silver Grove, and a member of West Covington Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Phillips of Dry Ridge; sons, Roger Phillips of Fitchburg, Mass., and Michael Phillips of Burlington; daughters, Jackie Phillips of Fort Mitchell and Terri Bass of Independence; sisters, Helen Ross of Cincinnati and Kay Loyd of Huntsville, Ala.; half-brothers, James Craig of Winfield, Tenn., and Don Newport of Lanett, Ala.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

David W. Singleton, 35, of Florence, died Saturday at Econolodge in Erlanger. He was an employee of Frisch's Restaurant, Florence.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Singleton; stepdaughters, Sonya Goetz of Covington, Shannon Patton of Cincinnati and Sara Ritter of Florence; his father, Sterlin Singleton of Morrow, Ohio; his mother and stepfather, Ruth and Fred Stamper of South Lebanon, Ohio; two sisters, a brother and six step-grandchildren.

Milton Devell Sizemore, 57, of Dayton, died at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a disabled former custodian with St. Bernard Church and School in Dayton, and also worked for Dayton Schools.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Ortlieb Sizemore; daughters, Tina Sydnor of Orlando, Fla., and Charlene Sizemore of Dayton; a son, Devell Sizemore of Burlington; his stepmother, Cora Lee Sizemore of Cincinnati; sisters, Rosemary Grubbs and Norma Sizemore, both of Cincinnati, and Bonnie Picconi of Williamsburg, Va.; and brothers, Charles Sizemore, Jimmy Sizemore, Curtis Sizemore and Fred Sizemore, all of Cincinnati.

Myra Hendrickson, joyful mom, youth leader
Myra Allene Hendrickson, of Independence, was a joyful woman who helped children.
Mrs. Hendrickson, an employee of Southern Buff in Independence, was a member of the Community Pentecostal Church in Independence, where she served as a youth leader.
'She liked to have fun. She always had a house full of children,' said her husband of 53 years, Paul Hendrickson.
Mrs. Hendrickson, a native of Harlan County, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. She was 70.
Mrs. Hendrickson married in Harlan County shortly after her husband-to-be returned from the Army after World War II. Mr. Hendrickson said he admired his wife's patience and perseverance.
He said she had an ability to overcome any obstacle.
'I liked the way she treated me. No matter what I had done, she would straighten it out,' said Mr. Hendrickson, who once worked as a coal miner.
Mrs. Hendrickson enjoyed cooking and playing games with children, her husband said.
'They say, "Love don't die.' And mine for her never will,' Mr. Hendrickson said.
Other survivors include her daughters, Judy A. Wolfinbarger of Walton and Linda L. Ruby of Morning View; sons, Paul Hendrickson Jr. of Erlanger and George M. Hendrickson of Burlington; a sister, Shirley Robinson of Crestview Hills; brothers, Brian Peterson of Las Vegas and Grant Saylor Jr. of Loveland, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchild ren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gathering Place Church, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Zion Christian Academy, 10310 Dixie Highway, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Grete Abercrombie, 70, of Erlanger, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired housekeeper with L&K Motel, Erlanger.

Geneva Lee Allender, 89, of Dillsboro, Ind., formerly of Falmouth, died Wednesday at Dillsboro Health Care Manor. She was a homemaker and a teacher in Pendleton County. She was a member of Falmouth Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. Her husband, Elbert S. 'Butch' Allender, died in 1965.
Survivors include a son, James Allender of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bobby Gene Burdine Sr., 63, of Taylor Mill, died Wednesday at his home. He was a retired locomotive engineer with CSX Railroad and L&N Railroad, a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Taylor Mill, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Sarah Dowdy, 90, of Covington, died Wednesday at her home. She was a retired seamstress with Rauh Shirt Co. Her husband, James Dowdy, died in 1980.
Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Sturgeon of Covington; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Naomi Colvin Gouge, 82, of Crittenden, died Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Violet Ridge Church of Christ, Crittenden. Her husband, Carl Wesley Gouge, died in 1991. A daughter, Rita Eads, died in 1998.

Hal Harlow, 77, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired signalman with C&O Railroad, and a member of Pikeville United Methodist Church. He was a member of Thomas C. Cecil Lodge No. 375 F&AM, Lexington Scottish Rite, Oleaka Shrine Temple and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include sisters, Edna Van Hoose and Lillian Graves, both of Louisa; and a sister-in-law, Marie K. Morgan, with whom he lived.
