Henry "Hank" Joseph Botros, 74, of Cincinnati, died Tuesday at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was a mutuel clerk with Turfway Park in Florence, and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cincinnati. He was a member of National Apostolate of Maronites, the Zimmer American Legion Post in Cincinnati, and was a volunteer with Mercy St. Theresa Center in Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Marion L. Botros; sisters, Adeline Botros, Marie "Fouley" Carle, Mary George, Martha Wakim and Catherine "Queenie" Delape; and a brother, Thomas Botros.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Elden A. Good Funeral Home, Cincinnati. Burial will be in St. Joseph New Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Virginia Clare, 75, of Northern Kentucky, died Tuesday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.

Ruth Dedden, 80, of Latonia, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence. She was a retired cook with Davis Catering, formerly of West Covington, and a member of St. Anthony Auxiliary No. 88 of the Knights of St. John. Her husband, George H. Dedden, died in 1988.
Survivors include a son, David Dedden of Ryland Heights; daughters, Carolyn Richards of Elsmere and Debra Suedkamp of Latonia; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Dorothy Mae Dougherty, 82, of Carrollton, died Monday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. She was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton. Her husband, John Latty Dougherty, and a son, John Lonnie Dougherty, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include sons, Henry Wayne Dougherty of Madison, Ind., and Robert Allen Dougherty of Bryan, Ohio; a daughter, Lynn Rabourn of Carrollton; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Vincent D. Grawe, 86, of Ft. Wright, died Monday at VA Medical Center, Lexington. He was a grocery clerk with Kroger's, Ft. Thomas, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a son, James J. Grawe of Winchester; a sister, Colleen Pye of Fairfield, Ohio; a brother, William Grawe of Edgewood; and two grandchildren.

Agnes Culligan Hamill, 86, of Florence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a retired clerk with Allegheny County Court House in Pennsylvania , and a member of Good Shepherd Church in Braddock, Pa. Her husband, Joseph C. Hamill, died in 1964. A son, Joseph T. Hamill Jr., died in 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Miller of Florence; a brother, Terrance Culligan of North Braddock, Pa.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Carl "Jack" Harsin, 87, of Carrollton, died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. He was a retired Kentucky Department of Highways worker. His wife, Mary Agnes Long Harsin, died in 1996.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Harsin of Ghent; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Woodrow M. Prince, 86, of Covington, died at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. He was a retired machine operator with Lodge and Shipley Co., Cincinnati, a member of Belleview Baptist Church, and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian L. Noel Prince; and a brother, Ralph Prince of Cincinnati.

James H. Watkins, 61, of Bromley, died at 10:58 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington.
He was a retired mechanic with Portman Equipment Co. and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. His wife, Laura Christine Watkins, died in 1993.
Survivors include sons, Scott Watkins of Crescent Springs, Gordon L. Watkins of Palmer, Alaska, and Bradley S. Watkins of Bromley; a daughter, Rebecca D. Elliott of Bromley; brothers, Clarence Watkins of Orlando, Fla., Claude Watkins of Middletown, Ohio, Winford Watkins of Owen County, Gordon Watkins of Cincinnati and David Watkins of Florence; sisters, Janice Gray of Stamping Ground and Vedia Watkins of Ludlow; and 13 grandchildren.

Executive, nurse Virginia Clare, devoted advocate for seniors
Virginia Margaret Clare, 75, of Independence, was a strong advocate for senior citizens. She attended meetings, served on committees and was the person many seniors turned to when they needed help.
"She didn't have a problem speaking on behalf and for senior citizens," said Carol Marek, coordinator for the human services division at the Northern Kentucky Area Development District. "She was very active, asking questions, and saying what she believed. She was very knowledgeable about the issues - she made sure she was. She very much believed in what she was doing."
Ms. Clare died Tuesday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a retired regional vice president of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Southwest Ohio and a retired nurse. She was a former director of nurses with Booth Hospital and assistant director of nurses at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Ms. Clare also served as president of the Jewish Hospital Nurses Alumni Association and co- chaired the PROJECT 100,000 Healthfair, sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Chapter of the American Diabetes. Association.
She was a member of the board of directors of Senior Services of Northern Kentucky; chairwoman of the Long Term Care Committee of the Council on Aging of Northern Kentucky Senior Citizens; a board member of the Kentucky Association of Gerontology; a board member of the Northern Kentucky Branch of the American Diabetes. Association.
Ms. Clare also was a member of the Legislative Research Commission of Senior Citizens; and a member of several Governors' Task Force Committees regarding health care.
In her spare time, Ms. Clare ran the Kentucky Huckster craft store in Rabbit Hash. She also participated in area community projects, such as being a volunteer for Tall Stacks and the Boone County Bicentennial. She served United Way for many years as a loan executive.
Ms. Clare garnered numerous awards and honors. In 1995, she was named Outstanding Woman of Northern Kentucky and was the 1995 American Diabetes. Association Volunteer of the Year. Senior Citizens of Northern Kentucky also honored her for outstanding service to the organization.
"She was very active and very involved and very commit ted to everything she was doing," Ms. Marek said. "I'm going to miss her."
Survivors include a son, Donald E. Clare Jr. of Union; a daughter, Mary Beth Tillery of McKee; a brother, Thomas Murray Jr. of Wilder; and four grandchildren.

Harry W. Allen, 73, of Taylor Mill, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was a retired chemical operator with Emery Chemical Co., Cincinnati, a member of the Blue Devils 88th Infantry Division organization, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors in clude his wife, Mary Turner Allen; daughters, Teresa Schumacher of Erlanger and Linda Beck of Alexandria; a sister, Inice Falin of Richmond; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ann Bender, 84, of Walton, died Saturday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a former floor supervisor with Americana Hotel in Miami, the Beverly Hills Hotel in California, and Concord Hotel in New York, and was a former district manager of the New York City Bureau of School Lunches.
Survivors include a son, Larry Block of Walton; a sister, Florence Shapiro of Miami Beach, Fla.; a brother, Jules Bender of Plainview, N.Y.; one grandson and one great-grandson.

Dolores Mary Brewer, 78, of Taylor Mill, died at 8:13 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Church in Latonia and St. Anthony Fun Club, Taylor Mill.

Marguerite Emmy Busch, 98, of Bellevue, died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a retired tailor with Globe Clothing. Her husband, John Busch, died in 1972.

Louis Fichtel, 68, of Florence, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired lineman with Cincinnati Gas & Electric Co., and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Fichtel; a son, Tim Fichtel of Amelia, Ohio; five stepchildren; a sister, Carol Varland of Cincinnati; one grandson and five step-grandchildren.
